  1. Nackuk, on 31 August 2010 - 21:26, said: I'm intrested in knowing this too. I can see you can get the one for the drivers side in chrome (check VW) but have not found any interior door handles. I think there might be some confusion here... over the terminology used... door handle, when maybe door pull would be more appropriate (or not!) The thread started on the topic of peeling door interior handles - the ones you use to shut the door from the inside. These are not necessarily the same across VAG models (I've seen Passats that are different in shape - N/S/F being more square in profile), though I know a version of the O/S/F is available in chrome finish. The other handle, which you pull to open the door from the inside, is chrome in all Superbs - isn't it? Or is it just me that's confused :S
  2. - but that would mean that they give a toss about customers - which they don't. Skoda don't even acknowledge a problem exists... As for your other points - don't know, it's a job I've got planned sometime this month too!
  3. interesting in-depth test on quality tyres in last week's Autocar (18 Aug) - including this size...
  4. there is a post on here somewhere that I found really useful, cos it contained photos of the sensors - showing the clips that hold them in place. Really handy as you'll be removing blind, by feel alone... Think they were positioned at top and bottom and need pulling outwards slightly. I had no need to remove any bolts for any of them - other than the O/S corner, for which you need to remove the large plastic moulding (couple of torx and one bolt I think) cheers
  5. ...and if you haven't got the manual - try this one https://mediaportal.skoda-auto.com/resource/documentation/manuals/en/Olders/Superb/Navigation/B5_Superb_DX_NavigationSystem.pdf
  6. My 2005 MY Elegance was an ex-Skoda car and came with a few options - glass roof, different wheels, pimp tints, full leather and sat nav before they were standard, but still has a 16" steel spare - though I've since got hold of a matching 5th alloy. If you want to get a matching alloy, then I'd be quick - SUK are discontinuing everything and there won't be many left soon, even at a scrappy. cheers
  7. is it the Superb II forum you're after?
  8. yep - then there'd be one more Superb than there'll be at Awesome
  9. Awesome is local to me, but I'll be at Cholmondely Pageant of Power (the Goodwood of the North) that day Won't be many Superbs there either. Have a good time.
  10. Dunno - the originals are still in great condition, so I just got a set of fronts.
  11. incredible isn't it? Especially when the VW dealer can supply identical Passat mats from stock or next day delivery, which is where I got mine.
  12. You must work for our IT department - "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"! Glad it worked - a useful tip to remember.
  13. think the new one is transverse - so that would be a no, I guess. What about the AWX motor?
  14. and I thought I was the only one really annoying - quarter inch of the black strip was bent back and then fell off. Not too noticeable though as the chrome is untouched. God knows how much a new one is :( one possible fault coming up - front passenger door sometimes more difficult to open from the outside than it should be. Well, when either my mum or my wife try to open it - seems OK to me when I try it... :S
  15. I too commiserate with your experiences to date - but look on the bright side, there's probably not much more that can go wrong and now it's easier to carry your lightweight wallet round with you. Hmm, I don't think you've mentioned parking sensors and flaky door handles yet though... As for the CV boots - they were a nice surprise for me at cambelt time last year! The cambelt was done at Unit 18 down your way and it took what seemed like next to no time to swap both CV boots. Mind you, I seem to remember the comment about there being a quick VAG way, and a much slower way for those less familiar - give them a call. cheers
  16. I don't know anything about turbos (hmm - so why am I posting this?) but just an observation - Recon turbo? 3000 miles ago? Take it back to who fitted it, or was it DIY? Any chance the remap can effect a turbo?
  17. I've got the FSA Principles next to my desk - sad I know :| - and your comment made me refer to them... I got as far as Principle 2 before I gave up. If the motor trade (especially SUK and its stealers) were FSA-authorised they would have been out of business a long time ago (For those of you not in financial services: FSA Principle 1 - A firm must conduct its business with integrity; FSA Principle 2 - A firm must conduct its business with due skill, care and diligence. It goes on... 11 in total)
  18. Hmm, I hardly ever use the memory buttons on mine - the wife's only driven it twice in 4 years - but I'm sure I have to hold the button down until the seat stops moving. cheers
  19. of course if you do this and they are blocked, then you're just adding to the lake! If you remove the battery cover then you can, with a bit of a squeeze, put your hand in and reach with fingertips down the side of the battery. You should be able to reach what feels like the bottom of the chamber - it's not , but it's pretty close. If you get wet, then it contains water . If you don't get wet, then either the drains are clear and the chamber dry, or the drains are blocked but the water is out of reach - maybe less than 1" deep. I did this on a fairly regular basis, especially after periods of heavy rain, for over three years before I felt any water. At that point I whipped out the battery (well, struggled manfully to lift it out!) and got rid of the rubber bungs - releasing a good few pints of water in the process. cheers
  20. Have you tried Googling? Here's one for starters... http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/brochures/A3651_Superb_Acc_2007.pdf By the way, don't count on many accessories being available now - I've just had to buy Passat floor mats because, according to two Skoda dealers, SUK discontinued them a year ago (same mats though). And I've just got a replacement optional alloy after some difficulty. cheers
  21. Hi Yep - I've had this once (or maybe twice). Like you, all lights working and message disappeared next time the engine started... cheers
  22. wow - can't believe you got anything for it you wouldn't have got in cash discount though. What did you change to?
