  1. Fitted the Hatchbag liner today. First thing I noticed is that the material is thinner than our previous Hatchbag liner, so maybe some cost cutting has gone on? It still feels perfectly suitable though. I need to attach some of the supplied velcro tape to fasten some of the edges down, and there are a few extra pieces for the sides of the boot that I probably won't bother fitting. Opted for the seat split option...
  2. Great, thanks for confirming.
  3. The code stamped on the back reads.. 3TO 601025 7Jx16H2 ET45 My understanding is they should fit ?
  4. Thanks, I've sent the seller a message asking for the OEM number. Hopefully they will fit.
  5. Lots to read on here, but can anyone confirm if some 16" alloys I've seen advertised for sale as 'OEM Yeti PCDx5 112 and offset 45' would fit my 2017 Yeti TDI 4x4 please, or is that not enough information to go on?
  6. Thanks for the detailed write up, I've only glanced over it for now but will read it fully tonight, cheers
  7. Nice job. I'd be interested in your write up to see how you did it (even if just to learn where you placed axel sands etc ) as I fancy trying it myself,
  8. Just ordered the Hatchbag boot liner. I'll post some photos once its arrived and fitted. They have a discounted clearance Yeti boot liner on their website, but it's red!
  9. Just heard that a Skoda dealership has had a number of their Yetis broken into overnight and their Amundsen units stolen, with thousands of £££ worth of loss Obviously adding to the black market for these devices. Whilst I'm relieved that the Yeti is safe from the current spate of catalytic converter thefts that are happening, it would seem they have their own security risks. Not nice to hear about.
  10. Yep, I did it last month on a 2017 Yeti from a Skoda dealer. But when cancelling the finance you have to ring them and 'withdraw' from the finance, not cancel.
  11. If buying from a Skoda dealer, consider doing the VW Finance trick, which I did and others on here.... Put a £1k or so on their finance to get 2 yr servicing for £79 & 2 year warranty, and breakdown cover. Then withdraw from the finance the following day and keep the benefits. There are threads on this topic already.
  12. Im wondering why the original purchaser didn't spec it, they chose the Outdoor SE L Drive which is a fairly high spec car, so you'd have thought that if the all those extras were desirable to them, then they would have the rear view camera as well.
  13. Despite being the Drive model, miine doesn't have the rear view camera which is a shame. I guess the original owner didn't choose is as an option?
  14. I wouldn't get involved in any snatch recoveries, too much risk of damage. If someone is stuck to the point they need a snatch recovery then I'd tell the to ring their breakdown recovery company. I don't see towbars as being suitable for that, they are designed to pull a free moving trailer, not a stationary object that is well and truly stuck.
  15. I've derestricted my Cube which has the Bosch CX motor. I never did like the treacle effect of the motor cutting out at 15mph.
  16. I wouldn't be towing with the front towing eye that would just be for if I was being towed. I'm wanting to be able to attach a tow rope to the Yeti for incase I have to be towed out of an icy patch of road, or to tow someone else out of such a situation. I wouldn't want to tow (or be towed) for any distance, just for a short distance to get out of bother. I think a 4m rope with snap hook fittings should be ok. I just ned to ensure the snap hook is the correct size to actually fit onto the thickness of the towing eye.
  17. It does screw all the way in, it was just one I picked out from a selection I have. The tow rope i have is quite thick rope so needs a decent sized shackle. Maybe I need to change to a tow strap?
  18. Dale_Stevens posted a topic in Skoda Yeti
Just had a practice at fitting the towing eye into the front of my Yeti. When driving my LR Defender in the snow I usually come across stranded cars that I sometimes offer to tow out of trouble, but its amazing how many of these drivers didn't know where their towing eye was kept, or how/where to fit it. I refused to look for them and often drove on... Anyway, for a tow rope to attach to the towing eye it needs a D shackle attaching, but this has the possibility of swinging onto the bodywork and scratching it. Anyone use a different method?
  19. Just checked the specs on my ebike, the measurement from front hub to rear hub is 1157mm, and its on 29" wheels. Its a 23" frame size, so larger than most mountain bikes I'd guess. Looking at the photos of my bike on my rack, I wouldn't say my bike wheels are at the limit of what the rack can take.
  20. I'll probably do the same, but then theres the risk of rain getting onto the bikes battery connections when driving with the bike on the rack. I'm surprised bike manufacturers don't make a protective water tight cover for this
  21. Nice caravan, what make/model it is please?
  22. I'm not sure to be honest, hopefully Thule's website might specify it?
  23. A very neat job. I guess your caravan is lighter than most, meaning the weight of the bike doesn't exceed your vehicles towbar nose weight limit? Don't think my towbar would allow it.
  24. Overall a very impressive, but expensive bike carrier. Compact for storing in the cupboard under the stairs rather than in the garage. The adjustment of the clamps where they fit onto the rack itself is limited, so worth checking that they will fit your particular bikes. When driving I can't help but stare out the rear view mirror to ensure the bike is still there!!! Now I can drive out to places to ride, or when cycling locally the wife can drive out and pick me up when I'm knackered Volvo sell the same item with their badges on, at around £100 cheaper if you can find one in stock (part number 31428156).
  25. The longer clamp is actually for calming to the second bike, but I'll be using both when carrying just the one bike...
