  1. I used to run nightbreakers in my old car, I was buying them like 3 times a year so wanted to stay away and I doubt they’ll make much difference in the black head lights as they’re crap to begin with
  2. My original plan was LEDs but most people were saying it’s **** and we might as well go for the HID kit, as for MOTs, I can simply swap them round if my tester isn’t friendly which he will be
  3. Yes, I know if I search up HID there are loads of results but a lot of them have failed photobucket photos that don't work or eBay links that have expired. Which kit is best for the projector headlights in the MK2 Fabia (Black headlights if that matters): https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/categories/hid-kits/hid-kits-by-bulb-type/h7 Obviously, I'm ignoring the ones that are over £100 but do I need 55w, 42w? Thanks
  4. I bought these ones and I've had no trouble. My car is a 2011 facelift so I'm not sure if that affects it: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs/501-super-bright-led-car-bulb-halfords-advanced-twin-pack-719280.html
  5. Have you got a video? There shouldn't be any boost at idle so I don't think it's intercooler piping related. Does the car feel slower at all?
  6. Long Life oil is perfectly fine, as long as you don't stick to long life servicing.
  7. Thanks mate, no I haven’t bothered with that yet. I just make hand gestures to let people go haha. I’ve got a local auto electrician but they’re opening times are awkward plus it’s not a priority yet
  8. These are the ones I bought for mine. Works fine without any errors: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs/382-super-bright-led-car-bulb-halfords-advanced-twin-pack-719272.html
  9. I was like “huh” haha Yeah I am because I took it off to see if it sounded any better in the past and lost a few in the process of putting it back, no problem though
  10. No not just yet. Doesn’t help that it’s leaking a bit from the turbo outlet, need to get a slightly different shape silicone so it goes on properly. But I didn’t expect differences until it was tuned anyway
  11. Got there in the end, took me a couple of days though
  12. Ahh, I should’ve pulled the whole radiator assembly up then. It’s the only thing missing from every fitting guide. Will have to give it a try
  13. Hi everyone, Over the weekend I attempted to fit my new Darkside intercooler but had to giveup ebcause I simply could not figure out how to remove the old one (Without removing radiator too) It seems as though the intercooler itself was still attached to the bottom of the plastic surroung/cross member whatever it's called and I can't see anything that could be causing that other than the grommet under it circled blue. You can see that I took the crash bar off and lossened the screws on either side that secure the radiator and intercooler to the surround but I couldn't remove it as it was still somehow attached to the intercooler somewhere towards the bottom. I've had a look at the step by step guide from Forge to fit it in the MK2 but they don't show them gommets at the bottom Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  14. The noname RCD330 has android auto and runs on Linux too so it can be updated
  15. I’m not sure why you want the Plus, think unread somewhere it’s not as good or whatever. The noname RCD330s are decent. I’ve got the VW one with red lighting but here is one with the green lighting if you’re interested (RCD330): https://a.aliexpress.com/_mtBma6J
  16. Hi Everyone, I've been actively looking at EGR delete kits and I just cannot figure it out for the life of me where they all fit around the back of the engine. Darkside says one of their plates has to be fitted to the turbo and then the pipe or whatever can be left removed? But I can't see any port where that plate will go which has studs exept from the exhaust manifold (circled RED). In order places they say one of the plates goes on the exhaust manifold (circled RED) which makes sense but then what about the other end of that pipe (circled BLUE)? Do I keep the pipe fitted to both the block and manifold but sandwich the blaking plate on the manifold side? What about the water circuit on the EGR cooler ? One advert gives me a part to connect the circuit to itself but on the diagram looks as though those water circuit pipes are at weird angles and theres no way the 90 degree connector will fit. Lastly, where in the hell does that gasket circled PURPLE go? It's in none of the first 2 diagrams. It's making me lose my head lol. Only reason I want to fit it is because it saves on labour and the kit on ebay is cheap and I don't know if the garage I'm gonna choose to gut my DPF and remap knows how to block everything instead of just the pipe at the front of the engine. I want as many pipes/ports blocked without removing the cooler as that would be extra work/cost. EGR delete kit: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183004251252?hash=item2a9be74474:g:6-EAAOSwcrJd9lXS
  17. Here’s a picture of my headlights now. It’s dark so I apologise. You can see the projector and next to is is my LED sidelight bulb where the full beam bulb normally is on the other headlight
  18. That’s it mate, in the Monte Carlo, the sidelight hole is none existent and instead the sidelight goes where the full beam bulb is in that headlight.
  19. Those are just poverty spec ones, no projector. Zoom into the headlight I’ve just commented. There’s the projector, then next to it on the right is the full beam bulb and in the top right corner is the side light.
  20. Correct, it does share the same reflector area but the full beam bulb is more in the middle of that section so it reflects better. I can take photos close up in case it’s confusing. No I haven’t sorted the flashing yet. I’m gonna see an auto electrician towards the end of the month and then I’ll post an update
  21. It’s sidelight towards the top and in the middle which is just hidden by the projector is the full beam. I know because when I switched the bulbs over I was confused, the regular headlights have an extra bulb which is the full beam where the montes are just the regular dipped beam with a shutter which isn’t good but whatever
  22. Mine had projector dipped beam and a reflector full beam, not sure how 32k has done his but if he sprays that reflector black then the full beam won’t really work Yeah but can you see where your mouse is? That’s the bit for the full beam
  23. That wouldn’t really work as the full beam relies on the reflector background to work. If tou spray it all black then it wouldn’t really work and would certainly be an MOT failure if you are bothered
  24. What? If he does the right mileage then he shouldn’t really have DPF issue for a while, and £300 gets you a gutted DPF and remap to make the car feel mint again. I don’t think injector failures are that common on 1.6TDIs. Sure they probably do happen a bit more often than they should but shouldn’t be that bad as I’ve not heard any owners have problems in the year I’ve owned one and been on the owners clubs
