  1. Lucky barstewards... Not jealous at all
  2. Check the alternator is charging OK. May just be low voltage faults caused by lack of charge
  3. Up yours, you have a bigger belly than me! :P Just you wait
  4. Useable as in have kids, so need the back seats, do a fair commute so quite fancy my music :P Not really expecting there to be much weight to save though...
  5. Where can you remove weight from, but still keep the car useable day to day? So no taking the spare or rear seats etc out...
  6. Have sent one before. Came wrapped in an anti-static bag (or whatever it is) just left it in that and posted as normal. It MAY go off due to static charge apparently (hence the anti-static bag), however, i have never heard of it myself as yet
  7. Standard car? Either its not standard or Liquidgauge isnt that accurate. May car was producing 161bhp/275lbft torque after a conservative remap...
  8. Had mk4 speaker adaptors, but they werent quite deep enough All I done was cut the speaker out of the surround its glued into, got 4 plastic tubes to use as spacers and long (60mm) screws to attach it all to the door (and they only just cleared the window runner). Hardest part though was probably de-soldering the wiring from the inside of the surround so you could still use the OEM connector, and putting terminals on some new wire and attaching it all. Sounds a bit complicated, but TBH, its a piece of **** once you have done one side. Wish i took pics of it all though :( Only one I have is this:
  9. our local ASDA had grim reaper outfits for £6
  10. At the risk of being shot down in flames here, how about using them in place of the main beam bulbs seeing as they dont need a beam pattern and you shouldnt really have them on with oncoming traffic??
  11. FLI Audio Integrator COMP6 - Speakers I bought these, running from an Alpine H/U. Bit of a **** to fit. Had to cut out the original speaker from the surround and use that as the adaptor to fit them to the door. Sound good though for the money, even just straight from the H/U. The tweeters are almost a perfect fit for the factory tweeters too, and come with crossovers and wiring kits in the box. Next plan is to amp them, get them closer to their RMS value. HTH Mike
  12. Rear silencer is still untouched. Just chopped out the cat and welded in some straight pipe. Didnt hear or feel a difference on the bum dyno
  13. Because they cant make their own parts. Have to borrow them from different manufacturers Got a lad in for work experience just now, said Skoda were "the single worst car manufacturer in the world" for the above reason... He has been set straight now
  14. Noticed no difference at all. Sounds the same, drives the same, no extra (noticeable) power. Just in case anyone was thinking about doing it. Absolutely stinks now though :P Thats is all
  15. Went in to see about the new Aino for me, (phones4u) never had it in stock so showed me the Satio. Wanted £45 p/m for it and £50 for the phone. Politely told them to shove it, then asked the missus about her phone. She was £30 p/m on PAYG with O2 for her free texts. Got pretty much the same deal, and a new phone for a fiver less. She is happier about it now, just wasnt too keen as the phone wouldnt let her send texts or make calls, but could receive them. Seems to have sorted itself now Thanks for all the advice anyway And for what its worth, went a few doors down to Carphone Warehouse. Got to look at the phones, no pressure, no-one hassling you to get a new contract. Had the Satio in stock, free and on a £30 contract. Result
  16. Is there a 'cooling off' period for signing up for a new phone contract, in a shop? Basically, not entirely happy with the phone, or the tariff, just wondering if there is any way out of it, or whether we are tied into it... Any advice welcome
  17. VR6 pads also fit, although dont have the wear sensor, and were cheaper than Octy pads, despite having the same part no...
  18. With the ***** still inside them. Then they cant get another old banger and do it again
  19. Lowered 25mm, RS4 style alloys, re-mapped to 160bhp/275lbft. Still comfy on my 70 mile roud trip to work and back, and still returns 65mpg if driven gently
  20. My car sailed through both its MOT's, and I never even knew it was re-mapped... GO for it, it will be fine
  21. I have similar discs on mine, with Redstuff pads... No issues or excess noise, other than the pads bedding in for a few hundred miles
  22. Yea, but only cos it saved her £160
