  1. Agree, 5 - 6 is ample. Anything more will just look a mess.
  2. Thought I'd share this one with you all, bit more editing on the picture than the first one. Love how mean the grill looks on this car
  3. Great picture and what a fantastic day for a drive! Also your car looks a beast. Back drop doesn't matter, what matters is that you have a picture that resonates with you. The estate VRS looks amazing in yellow!
  4. You can't beat a great photo of a nice clean Mk3 Octavia set before a great backdrop. As a petrol head and a photo fanatic I'd love to see your snaps! Amateur, mediocre, professional, just whatever photo is your favourite of your Mk3 Octavia! It would be great to get a little story of where the photo was taken and why it is your favourite. I can start it off, my favourite photo I have taken at present is this photo parked in front of a semi stormy sky behind a wind turbine on the Lowestoft seafront. The reason this is my favourite photo is I took this on the first day I got the car home and it always reminds me of the excitement I felt having a newer car for the first time, plus the angle of the car in front of the backdrop just looks great in my opinion.
  5. Could play it extra safe and take the wheels off before leaving the car unattended, no chance of it rolling anywhere then .
  6. Hate it when I have to replace my headlines... Do you need to go into "Car" on your main display and simply reset the warning?
  7. How can they get away with providing such terrible service? Especially whilst you have a warranty! Hope this never happens with my 1.6TDi
  8. Shall we start a "take a picture of your car in a bra" thread?
  9. Great point too, it could have happened directly after the MOT. Why is everything such a cash grab when it comes to how things are made? The £200+ skoda SD cards a are a great example when you can find them much cheaper elsewhere.
  10. I see your point but the whole point of a bonnet bra is to keep the bonnet clean and thus aesthetically pleasing, a bonnet bra keeps it clean but makes it completely horrid to look at . It is definitely an argument of practicality or visual desire, I'd rather keep with the latter and just get stone chips touched up.
  11. This sounds incredibly logical and could well be it, I'll get in contact with my warranty provider on the car and see what they say. I'll update you.
  12. If you click the heart on people's posts it gives you different reactions, sort of like Facebook. Did you want any links or did you order one?
  13. I think you missed my joke
  14. Dry lube? Sounds so counter productive . Hope this works for you.
  15. Not a problem, dropping some thank you reactions would be appreciated . Did you find a unit? If not I can try help with some links if you need them.
  16. My Mk3 Octavia 1.6TDi SE (63 Plate) makes a strange bump noise when turning whilst driving 10MPH or less. I can't begin to understand what it is... MOT brings nothing up, drives perfectly fine, can't get the car to purposely make the noise, allowing the wheels to drop off a curb doesn't make the noise so I want to rule the suspension out, when driving over 10MPH I can't get it to do it, snaking the car again no noise so again I want to rule out alignment or ball joint issue? The noise mainly occurs when turning left and the acoustic of it feels like it's coming from the front left arch but I know that car acoustics can be incredibly misleading. Anyone else experienced this or know what it could be? It can be loud sometimes and bugs the hell out of me.
  17. Yeah I agree from the perspective point of VIEW. I've gone from a Honda Civic TypeR to the Octavia 1.6TDi and if I bought the 1.6TDi thinking it was going to be "fun" I'd of been a fool. For practicality and cheap running cost it's a sure fire choice. I've had my fun days with hot hatches for now, with me now having a little baby boy I wanted the "ideal family car". When I am in a position to have a "fun" car again I'm entertaining the VRS.
  18. Exactly my thought, also by replacing the insides without fixing the source of the issue you surely just risk the issue happening again and again and again.
  19. Is this the sort of thing? https://www.ledperf.co.uk/pack-sidelights-led-xenon-white-for-skoda-octavia-3-5e-with-bixenon-afs-p-4950.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7_Lph8nU6wIVybTtCh1uZA_AEAQYBCABEgLTrvD_BwE My concern is that if you leave the crack you will just get moisture again. I think you will need to get the casing replaced if that is where the crack is.
  20. My first question is: Do all other functions of the headlamp work? Or has the moisture stopped anything else functioning? I'd check this isn't causing you any other problems before just changing one thing. Second question: Replacing just the stripe if this is the only thing not working would be your cheapest option. However, surely by not replacing the whole headlight you are risking the same thing happening again due to the stone crack still being present? I will see if I can find you some links. What is the exact model and year of your octavia?
  21. I understand what you mean by the gear box in the 1.6TDi but I certainly wouldn't call it lethargic. I always cry out for a 6th gear in my 1.6, it certainly feels heavy in 1st and 2nd gear but in sport mode still gets through them enough. I think it would have been worth mentioning how economical the 1.6TDi is at long journeys getting up to 88MPG. Congratulations, you'll have to give us an update on your thoughts and a picture of it .
