12v socket in boot not connected
The workshop manual suggests there's a tail, see below However part 1K0919309 (which is the correct number I think) does not come with a tail. There are images that includes one, but in those cases it can be seen that the spade connector is attached directly to the part and seems to be for illustrative purposes only. Given that the spade connector should lock in place, it seems highly unlikely that it would fall out of its own accord, so I suspect it's either been disconnected at some point and not reconnected, or was never connected during manufacture. I have the Circuit Diagram manual but it's vast, and doesn't appear to be indexed, but I'll spend a little while trying to see if if there is a wiring diagram for that area. Did you take the trim panel off to remove the 12v socket (as the manual states) ? If so any disconnected cable should be apparent. If you didn't, but would like to, I can attach the relevant pages from the manual, but it's not trivial, and strangely makes no reference to the 12v socket.

Mechatronic unit failure
I can't add much, but just to say that you have my sympathies, it's not a nice position to be in. There are others on here with a better understanding of the extent of DSG problems who might have some experience of getting goodwill gestures from Skoda. Whether the fact that you haven't owned from new will count against you I couldn't say. Were you mis-sold? I suspect not, and it could take an expensive legal battle to prove otherwise. Perhaps a lesson learnt, but always fully read the policy document of any insurance to understand the extent of any cover, and particularly any exceptions or exclusions. If I were in your shoes, and the unit could be repaired by a reputable company, I'm not sure I'd be too unhappy, but yes, any excess labour charge might hurt. Should it not be repairable, are the warranty company obliged to pay in full for a replacement?

SOS system dropping out
My MY21 was fixed with just a software update allegedly, so perhaps I was lucky, or perhaps there was more to it that I wasn't told about. Yes, once SOS went, other things did too.

Rubber mats
I have Skoda rubber mats, because they fit well, as one would expect, are well secured, and have a lip to stop any moisture leaks. Front and back were thrown in with purchase and the rear tunnel protector I bought from https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/ I bought regular carpet mats for the third row, since it was unlikely to get any use, but if it did at least there would be some protection I bought this boot protector, and been very happy with it.

Problems with Kodiaq, after adding adblue
18 litres, increased from 12 litres in MY2019 (apparently build week 31 2018 - 30th July-5th August). But I'm with Yogi, I do not see the significance to any problem relating to AdBlue usage, since I can't see how you can have too much, unless there was some overspill that contaminated other systems, but seems unlikely, particularly a cruise control malfunction. Have you checked your battery condition?

Drain and replace Ad Blue
The Kodiaq Maintenance manual (2022 edition) documents pumping out the tank content to empty it. No mention of a drain valve.

Mystery overheating
Agree, get it recorded at least. Although maligned by many, I have had good assistance from Skoda customer services, both when buying the car and the aftermath, and more recently with getting the ignition switch replaced. I'd email [email protected] with your issue and see what they can do. At the very least it's another data point for having reported the issue within warranty.

Service costs
Does that include any maintenance items, eg DSG Oil Change? If not then seems pricey. I would be looking at a Service Plan, they do seem to be good value for money. Mine was 3 yrs old in March and I took out an All In plan. Should in theory save me a few hundred quid. There are other Plan options in the link Yogi-Bear provided.

Parking sensors, 360 camera
For MY21 for example, both pre and post the Build Week 48 changes (dropping of Edition & Scout, some spec changes) everything but the basic SE had front and rear sensors as standard. The L&K had Area View as standard, pre BW48, but after nothing did, and whilst it was an option on the SEL & Sportline (and Edition & Scout) it was only an option on the L&K if taken with trailer assist and towbar. Rear view camera was standard on SE Drive, and an option on the SEL & Sportline, but not the L&K. I do wonder if there might be an error with the brochure, since I'd be surprised if these were not options on the L&K, unless they came as part of a package elsewhere. Park Assist was an option on everything but SE & SE Drive. The VRS is not in my post BW48 brochure so don't know what it came with after that.

Kodiaq - CarPlay issues
Mine's been doing the same recently (last few weeks) but with wireless, when connected by cable it seems fine. Was in for a service beginning of March so am hoping that all software was upgraded, but conversely perhaps it is an update that's causing the glitching. The car is back in next week for the ignition switch so I'll ask then what they did, or if there are any updates. There is a thread on here somewhere where some of the aftermarket guys were kindly providing new firmware, but it seemed to go quiet recently, you could try posting in there though. EDIT : thread link

Seat position by key
Personalisation (inc 3rd key) was offered as an option for MIB3 MY21 vehicles, up to a point, and the user manual was written to suggest it operated as per previous MIB, ie settings could be fixed to a particular key. However MIB3 does not provide Personalisation, settings are now all Profile based. At some point between MY21 and MY22 IIRC the Personalisation option was renamed to Third Key, since that is all you get. My understanding is that the intended behaviour is that the currently selected user profile is assigned to whichever key locks the vehicle (either by physical button or used by KESSY). This requires some degree of personal organisation to ensure that the right key is used at the right time. To me it has limitations. For example you swap drivers on a long journey, the new driver selects their profile, but forgets to change it back when the vehicle is locked. Key is now assigned the other user profile. Or both keys are taken on a journey, which key then gets used by KESSY? I found it a pain, and the primary feature I wanted when (misguidedly) selecting the Personalisation option was seat memory assigned to a key, but simply pressing the memory button on opening the door is an adequate alternative. So now there's one key gets used, the other in the house, and the third in a secure location. I disabled Profiles completely since they were so unreliable, the ICE often stuck in profile syncing for entire journeys rendering the ICE unusable. Profiles are one of the worst design decisions and implementations IMO. Why do my car settings need to be synced to the Cloud... everything is Cloud these days. although its dominance in the public psyche is about to be superseded by the current misconception that is AI.

Yeti Rear Wiper Blade - Bosch A282H
I mistakenly bought this wiper blade for my Kodiaq. Amazon have given me a returnless refund so this is available for the cost of postage. Unfortunately it looks like the small parcel rate is needed and the cheapest is £2.99. This can be had from Amazon for £6.75 with Prime so not a great saving admittedly. I'd much rather this get used than go in the bin. Can also be used to replace just the rubber on a facelift Kodiaq. Free to collect from the Maidenhead area.

Source of fault free Columbus touchscreen replacement
Can anyone recommend a source/supplier of a guaranteed fault free (pixels & glass) Columbus touchscreen, for an MY21 MIB3 Kodiaq? I have seen a few on eBay but not one that's entirely New condition, and I'm also not sure whether they are MIB/MY specific, does anyone know and/or could provide a part number? I am exploring having mine replaced by a third party that scratched the screen and would like to be the one that sources the replacement unit to ensure it's in New condition. Many thanks Simon

Thoughts on the look of the Mark 2
I think I generally prefer the sleeker look, but dislike the D-pillar, and particularly the rear, which has far too many folds and creases, like it's been squeezed, or drooped with too much sun.

Car constantly asking for S-PIN - but fails to connect
What's your GSM signal like? I gave up on S-PIN and individual profiles due to the unreliability of the software, having spent too many journeys with no radio, media or nav because the ICE was stuck at 'Syncing' from engine start. My conclusion was that, as well as being generally buggy, a good GSM signal is key to ensure server response times, and ours is poor generally. The biggest personalisation feature for us is seat memory, and whilst it would be nice if this was reliably linkable to the key in use as it is supposed to be, I can live with pressing a button on entry, and without all the other personalisation stuff which requires profiles.

Mud Flap Dilemma
Fully electric on the Macan (and probably other Porsches), but sooo slow. I prefer the half manual solution on the Kodiaq.. deployed and stowed in seconds.
