Driving in Europe with standard LED lights
I had an after market towbar fitted by the supplying dealer. Its pretty basic though removable. It doesn't turn of the reversing sensors or anything so have to change the reversing settings in the menu otherwise the car keeps hitting the emergency breaking. It's manufactured by Westfalia

windscreen wipers juddering
My experience with VW group standard fit wiper blades is they are rubbish. My last car which was a Seat Ibiza the blades streaked and juddered all the time, by Kamiq and my dads Karoq is the same and his previous VW passat was the same. I bought some cheap replacement rubbers on Ebay used the same holders and what a difference. If you want to buy whole new blades then the best ones I have ever had was the Bosch Aero Twin.

Side mirorrs auto dim
I think that it's the driver only side as this is where overtaking cars would be visible. Obviously cost cutting but its a budget car after all

Indicator bulbs
I looked into it for my SE L and spoke tothe dealer who advised the whole front bumber and half the from assembly needs to come off to get at them. So obviously not worth doing. It seems strange to me that on the SE L Particularily every bulb is LED appart from the front indicators. Why not just make them LED as well? I get they are not the Full LED ones that you pay extra for but just flashing non scrolling indicators would have been so much better than 2 1920's bulbs IMO

What’s YOUR MPG??
I don't think so but if you press car on the entertainment system you should get a screen showing fuel consumption. If you then click the arrow to the side it will move between Long term average, Since refuelling and since start.
-
What’s YOUR MPG??
I have the 1.0 115. I've done around 2500 miles so far since Nov when I got it. My long term average is just over 45 MPG. I did a long drive a couple of weeks ago and wanted to compare it to what I would usually get in my previous Seat Ibiza with the same engine. I usually go there along Main A roads and come back via the motorway at constant 70 MPH with cruise control. On the Ibiza I would usually get around 60 MPG on the A roads at average of 60 MPH. on the motorway at 70 I would get closer to 50 MPG. However in the Kamiq I got an average of 55.6 on the A roads and a pretty impressive 57.7 coming back home on the Motorway. So far its been pretty good and better than I expected compared to the Ibiza.

Stop-start issue
Its in the garage atm so will hopefully find out soon what's the issue.

Stop-start issue
My Start Stop does that as well. You stop and the engine cuts out then about 5 seconds later it starts again. Pretty useless. I have tried it with everything turned off (Aircon, radio etc) but its the same. Its going into the garage tomorrow to have a couple of rattles looked at so they are going to check that as well.

Fitting a bike
No, it was too late when I asked to have either the full towbar or the pre kit fitted. However the garage it came from had it fitted. It's not an original kit but they had it done so any warranty issues are their issue as far as I am concerned.

Fitting a bike
I had a tow bar fitted for my Ebike. The order was already finalised but the dealer was able to get a local place to fit the tow bar. You DON'T need the tow bar prep kit to get a tow bar fitted. I'd think you could fit a standard bike in but would need to remove the front wheel.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
His Karoq does have the varioflex seating but when I talked about room I was referring to leg room. I'm not that tall so headroom is never an issue for me. However the diagrams you have shown clearly show the Kamiq has more headroom then the Karoq 1003 to 993, Width is negligible. While the Karoq is longer the boot is much bigger than the Kamiq so I assume a lot of the extra space has went there.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
Don't know what that was because the top of the dash and the front doors are all soft touch. Yes there are hard plastics lower down, but that's the same in pretty much every car without going to premium cars, even then its not always much better. The rear seat has a huge amount of room, more than my dad's Karoq by a mile. The top of the doors in the rear are certainly not soft touch, seems to be common on a lot of VAG cars, but all the doors have a cloth insert which is nicer than the hard plastic in the Karoq. My thoughts on the drive are based on coming from a Seat Ibiza FR which had lowered Sports Suspension so might not be as soft as other cars. Certainly my dad's Karoq has a softer ride but it also doesn't handle as well as the Kamiq. To me its good trade off. Your always going to get hard plastics in a £21000 car however my Friends Merc GLC isn't much better and it cost over £50000.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
I have been very impressed with the quality of the interior for the cost of the car, ok its not in the same league as premium cars but then it costs a lot less. My dad has a 2019 Karoq SE L and the Kamiq is way nicer that that. I can't think of anything similar that has this level of finish. Generally its very quiet, the quietest car I've had, though I am getting a few rattles which I will need to take it to the dealer to look at, just not been able to due to lockdown. The infotainment system so far seems to be fine, no issues. It drives well, having a slightly stiffer suspension means it handles bends well without being a harsh ride. I was concerned about the 18" wheels giving too hard a ride but they are fine tbh. Overall I am impressed and happy with the car. just wish I could get out and do some longer drives

Ambiance light color
I would have loved it but the SEL doesn't have it as standard and was too late to order it. Would love to see some photos of it though.

New Kamiq owner
Looking at them I don't think they are sealed just hemmed in by this steel plate. I will try and take some photos later

Kamiq Is It For You
To be honest it doesn't matter which car you go for there isn't a perfect car. Every car has it issues. You could go for a different car and the issues here might not be present but you can guarantee there will be others. I came from a Seat Ibiza 1.0 115 and have to say I am loving the Kamiq. the build quality is far superior, its much quieter and more refined inside and the ride quality is superior, even with the 18" wheels. I love the virtual Dash and generally the infotainment system. Not totally crazy about the Climate controls in the menu but don't really make a lot of changes to it so not a major issue. The lane keeping assist is slightly annoying but I am now used to it and just turn it off, its really not that big a thing for me. Its not an SUV so I never expected it to be that high and tbh its just right for me.. My dad has the Karoq 1.5 DSG and, while its fine, I actually prefer the Kamiq, I think its a nicer car inside and out. His Karoq has the wheel spin issue on acceleration which you'd have thought would have been controlled by the Management system. Not really been able to do any long distance runs yet but looking forward to that soon hopefully.

New Kamiq owner
I changed the internal Halogen bulbs for LEDs it takes standard W5W bulbs. Takes a few mins you just have to prise out the light unit with a trim removal tool or screw driver then replace the bulbs. I had a look at the Front Indicator bulbs and can't see how to get into them. There is a metal plate which sits directly over and behind the bulb holder on the passenger side and the same on the other side though also has the added issue that the Bonnet support arm is attached to the drivers side one. I couldn't get into the hex screws as needs a right angle screwdriver but with a very short shaft. Kinda gave up on it. I called my dealer and they said it was quite a major job and required the whole front of the car to be removed. Seems kinda OTT to change an indicator bulb. Hoping the don't blow out while I have the car. Hope this helps

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
M<y S10 got updated to Android 11 last week and still works ok with AA. the battery life is another issue though.

Variable Boot Floor
Not sure where you are but I seem to remember seeing a review that the Variable floor wasn't available in the UK. Might have been another car but i am sure it was the Kamiq

Kamiq - Best options?
One of the things I would have liked to have, or seen as standard, is Ambient lighting. Makes the car look so much nicer on the dark.

Horn is embarrassing
TBH I can't really tell the difference lol. As long as it works I don't care

Swap Swing infotainment for Bolero unit (Skoda Kamiq 07/2020)
You would also need to check the connections are the same. I believe the Bolero has Wireless Android Auto/Apple Car Play so you'd need to check the wifi unit is there as well. This might need its own power connector etc. And, as previously mentioned, it would need to have the car re programmed to work with it as it has some features not present on the Swing unit.

Problems with Android Auto Wireless
I tried it again last night and, although maps seemed ok nothing else worked so I guess its not Spotify in particular. I reset all the settings for the wifi on the car, I had "connect to wifi hotspot" selected, not sure if that made a difference. Uninstalled and reinstalled AA. so will see how that goes.
