Pretty sure they're only available as an option on the L&K. The Sportline has bucket seats so it's not an option you can add to them.

I've had my 280 L&K hatch for 2 years. I sold my previous car and didn't have long to source a replacement so although ideally I wanted a Sportline Plus estate, I had to take the best of what was available. Apart from the looks I think the L&K is the better buy now. It actually drives better than the Sportline as it has standard DCC. The spec is great with heated windscreen, heated rear seats and canton all standard. The cooling seats and sunroof are extras. I do wish it had the 7sp box though. It revs highly on the motorway and it harms the mpg on long trips. I think most of the later sportlines are the plus spec. The non plus models don't even have heated seats so they're a bit low on spec. Just watch out as some of the later L&K estates will have been over £40k new so they will be subject to high VED rate for the first 5 years or so. A high specced Sportline may go over too as optional extras are included.

I think it probably does which is why the power dropped from 280 to 272. But I could be wrong.

Gasoline Particulate Filter. Same sort of thing that's been on diesels for a while. They reduce power a bit, restrict three engine noise and I've seen one post where someone's had clogged up at a low mileage. But that's the only one I've seen that's had a problem

It just seemed to do it all the time once it started or got warm enough. It's funny that it only started after I gave the car it's first proper spirited drive on a summer evening in Sport mode. But after that it didn't matter what mode it was in.

The lack of interior lights is infuriating. I don't think anything can be done about it. I think it's a poor integration of keyless start. My previous Audi would turn off the engine with the first press and then turn everything off and put the interior lights on with a second press. Much better design.

My work colleague is about to hand back his 220tsi estate sportline plus estate. I think the plus is well worth seeking out. It gets quite few extras, heated seats, reversing camera and I think front parking sensors and probably a couple of other things I'm not sure of the date but I think the 190 TSi replaced the 220 around 2019. I'd go for the 220 if you can. 30bhp is a lot and I think the 190 has a gasoline particulate filter which is just another thing to go wrong. My colleague loved his and probably his only gripe is pulling out of junctions quickly with fwd and dsg can be scrabbly. But if you're coming from a vrs 245 you'll know how to manage that.

Is it definitely a 272? They swapped over from the 280 late 2018 so most are 68 plates. You might have found an early one though but worth checking in case it matters to you.

I had exactly the same issue. It's your fuel lines vibrating against the body of the car. It's really common across a lot of VAG stuff. In my car it does it more when it's hot outside and would only do it once the car is warmed up. It only occurred between 2k and 3k RPM and only when lifting off the accelerator. My Skoda dealer refused to fix it under warranty even though they agreed with my diagnosis. They claimed it was a part which required adjustment, and nothing had failed so therefore it wasn't covered. However this 'adjustment' would cost over 400 to fix as they said they had to remove the fuel tank to fix it. My car is a 4x4 model so I don't know if that increases the cost. I complained to Skoda UK and although I didn't get any reply, whilst my car was with her dealer they suddenly said they'd fixed the fault at no cost, but without doing anything to fuel tank. There's plenty of videos on YouTube of people packing the fuel lines with padding to stop it. A few months later and the fault started to reappear but much quieter and coming from the boot floor area. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle from last time so I left it. The sound has stopped since the weather has cooled down.

Yeah I saw that but I didn't expect it not to be covered under warranty so didn't want to start trying to fix it myself. Plus the noise on mine is coming from nearer the front of the car and there's quite a lot of under tray which needs to be removed to get to it. It's been referred to a supervisor to review the refusal. The part of the warranty they're quoting to get out if it is as follows:- Bodywork, paintwork, body component (including encased aerials, gas struts, sunroof assemblies, soft top roofs, and seat frames, strikers, hinges or any component which may require adjustment from time to time). If they're trying to suggest that fuel lines are a component which requires adjustment from time to time then that's the first time I've ever heard of it!

So my 2018 L&K 280 developed two faults on Monday, the rear traffic assist failed and I suddenly started to get a loud vibrating noise from under the driver's seat between 2 and 3000rpm. The car is 2 months out of manufacturers warranty but I bought it approved used in October so it's covered by that. The traffic assist is a module fault which is being sorted under warranty, however the dealer claims the fuel lines only need adjusting and therefore are not covered. However this adjustment requires the fuel tank to be removed and will cost me circa £400 to fix. Obviously I wasn't very happy with that, so I complained to the approved used policy administrators who said the dealer actually hadn't tried to claim, they'd just gone off their guidance which is to refuse the claim. I suggested it could be a broken clip or faulty pipe which isn't an adjustment. To summarise the dealer haven't actually examined the pipes, which are mainly obscured by under trays, and say that they can't examine the pipes without dropping the fuel tank, which seems like BS to me but anyway. Seems like the issue is quite common across the VAG MQB cars, has anyone else made a claim for the same fault? Thanks

Someone on here posted the old brochures for the superb, not sure if they went back to 2016, but try Google if not. It gives you the standard equipment. I thought all 280s had it until I read that.

I've just picked up an L&K 280 hatch with the DCC and I believe it's standard fit on the L&K. I suppose the hard thing about trying to find a Sportline with it fitted is that it's a rare option plus some sellers won't even know if it's fitted. It's a rare car full stop, I looked for a couple of months and there was never more than 7 for sale under 25k and 2017 or newer. And that was both bodystyles and all trims. The L&K definitely firms up in sport mode but my suspension is softer than the sportline so maybe it would be okay on passive dampers? Good luck finding what you want though

So after a 200 mile trip home I'm very happy with it. The DCC definitely makes a difference. The sat nav took me down some great roads between Edinburgh and the M74 and the interior is lovely at night. Only negatives I would say are that it definitely needs a 7th gear on the motorway and it seems to harm the mpg on long motorway runs. I've not had radar cruise before but i think it cuts in a bit early. Pretty sure I put it in the closest setting but I still found it reacting to cars I didn't think I was near to. But looking forward to driving it more.

Yeah i fully expect to notice a bit of a drop in performance but I've test driven a Sportline estate and it was okay. Needed a lot more revs to get going but I keep telling myself that the S6 was a bit too fast for the road half the time anyway (I've almost convinced myself). But the fact the Skoda can be remapped easily does mean if I'm really missing the performance there's an option to put some back in!

Cheers for the replies. I've found a previous post from JBD where he linked all the brochures so it looks like the L&K gets the DCC which is a nice bonus. Shame mine isn't a later model year though as it misses out on ventilated seats and heated wheel but i can live without those. I'm used to low 20s mpg so I'm actually looking forward to maybe getting near 30! I preferred the looks of the Sportline and would have liked an estate but there's not many 280s to choose from so i had to compromise. My S6 had a timing tensioner failure which just cost me £4k to fix so i was ordered to get something less expensive to fix and newer. Loved the car but another expensive repair just scared me too much, so here I am!

I know what you mean about the gear stick. Had my S6 for 2 years and i still couldn't get used to it! I wasn't sure about the DCC, some reviews of the car when it came out say it's optional, but then i know the spec changes with the updated touch screen etc.

Hello, I'm going to be the proud owner of a Superb 280 L&K on Monday. It's a 2018 and i haven't actually seen it yet add it's in Edinburgh and I live near Manchester but it's at a Skoda dealer and they sent me a video so I'm happy with the condition etc. A couple of questions, I think it hasn't got paddle shifts, are they easily retrofitted? Is the DCC an optional extra and if so how do you know if it's fitted? I've come from a 450bhp Audi S6 so once the warranty has expired I may want to get a bit more power. Is there a preferred map or tuner and what sort of power can be liberated with just a map? I don't want crazy power, but a bit more oomph would be nice. I've had a few VAG cars in the past but this is my first Skoda. A colleague has a Sportline 220 estate which i liked so I'm looking forward to getting it. I'm sure I'll have more questions once I've got it. TIA

Hello, Sold my previous car last week after a being told to buy a more sensible car after a huge engine repair bill and I've managed to find a 2018 L&K 280 hatch which fitted the bill. Ideally i wanted an estate but there's not much out there and being without a car was beginning to get tiresome so i compromised. I've flitted between VAG and BMW over the last couple of decades but this is my first Skoda.
