  1. I tried to do my own and they were rubbish. I bit the bullet and bought from superskoda and they’re really nice (black with white background)
  2. @TudorDdid you establish if the lights were brighter in the end?
  3. Hi @xpower I know this is an old thread and there's likely other topics that cover this, but out of interest, what led fogs did you install? Safe to say, the foglights on my scout are pony!
  4. Hello all, Sorry for commenting on such an old topic but i wanted to ask if i've done anything wrong. I have read through all the posts on here and have applied this adaption to my 65 reg octavia scout that has lane assist etc ... Everything seems to work with the traffic sign recognition system and I don't appear to get any of the errors that other people mention. However, when i do an autoscan, I do get a fault under the FR camera. If I clear it, it stays clear for a while but then returns. Is there something else I need to do? Here is the error I get: Address A5: Frt Sens. Drv. Assist (R242) Labels:| 5Q0-980-653.clb Part No SW: 5Q0 980 653 G HW: 5Q0 980 653 Component: MQB_MFK H06 0060 Serial number: 10000394749 Coding: 0101010001030306000000000000010100 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 12345 ASAM Dataset: EV_MFKBoschAU370 001001 ROD: EV_MFKBoschAU370.rod VCID: 3C21342626EF578BD3A-8068 2 Faults Found: 1123600 - predictive route data B1630 02 [008] - Signal Failure Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 6 Fault Frequency: 254 Reset counter: 124 Mileage: 83800 km Date: 2021.03.16 Time: 16:56:51 Control Module temperature: 29 °C Outside temperature: 15.0 °C Vehicle speed: 13.76 km/h Voltage terminal 15: 14.7 V Terminal 15 on: 19.5 s 1123601 - predictive route data B1630 02 [008] - Signal Failure Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 6 Fault Frequency: 254 Reset counter: 131 Mileage: 83712 km Date: 2021.03.15 Time: 12:54:17 Control Module temperature: 50 °C Outside temperature: 11.5 °C Vehicle speed: 30.40 km/h Voltage terminal 15: 14.5 V Terminal 15 on: 1605.0 s Does this information help? and is anyone able to comment? any info/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
  5. Thanks for the advice 👍🏻
  6. Cheers for the advice. I haven’t had it mapped or anything and it’s only a scout. It is a dual mass flywheel so I reckon I’ll get it done. I believe they are installing LUK parts
  7. So looks like mine is gonna cost £1100 to do and that includes the flywheel while everything is off. In your opinion, do you think it’s worth having done? Without the flywheel is £700 odd. The car has done just shy of 60k miles …
  8. It seems I have been stung with this problem this morning. By the time I got to the garage I could barely change gear. The rub, is that I bought the car off Skoda last year (2nd hand) and it’s less than 3 weeks out of warranty. As you can guess, Skoda don’t want to know with “I don’t know why they’ve referred you to us, you should go to them” etc … my local reckons the same as above - either master cylinder or slave/clutch. 6 year old car with less than 60k. Give me back my shogun!!
  9. Thanks so much. Everyone is so knowledgable here!
  10. Ah yeah cool I do remember it saying something about doing an extra step but then it worked anyway. so nothing to worry about then? Nothing I can do to sooth my ocd?
  11. I think I managed to get this to work so thanks for your help! one thing I did notice when doing an auto scan was a software fault in one of the modules - i think it’s to do with the infotainment system. I did update the firmware a month or so ago supplied by someone off here so could that be it? I can share the scan when I get back to my laptop ...
  12. Cool so where it says 0000001 in the photos (for example) I just amend that on the byte and bobs your uncle?!
  13. Hi all, Sorry to bring up such an old thread but i'm recently in receipt of a Hex V2 interface and I'm making a few changes - namely the HBA. I am running a 65 Octy Scout without xenons but with lane assist and I note in the guides it says "change Byte 2 to Hex 09". Before I make any adjustments, does this mean to change the binary to 1001? Sorry if this is such a noob question but I want to be sure before I start messing about with things. Safe to say that the software has had a number of updates since this guide but i'm making my way through it so far (I think!) Also I run the adaption map before anything else as instructed. Thanks for you help!
  14. Noice! Is that the only led in the unit or are the other bulbs led too?? How much did you pay for the clusters? I’m seeing them on e-auction for 150 but I’m sure I’ve seen them knew for about 160 euros
  15. I also want to do this - did you do it in the end?
  16. I’ve just realised this whole thread is in mk2 and I actually have a mk3 - urgh! but thank you for your thorough answer
  17. Hi all, hope you’re doing ok. Could someone tell me where the afs module goes? Is it one of the units that attaches to the headlight or is it within the cabin somewhere? Also is the bcm located near/behind the head unit display? Also, I’m assuming you can’t just go to a Skoda and ask them to retrofit xenons to a used car? Assuming that’s out of the question either because of price or they just don’t offer that kind of thing ...??
  18. Having read through this topic I thought I’d give it a go after not really liking the full black emblems you can get. I purchased my badges from this guy: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203092116751 And bought all the paint from sparesworlddirect on that auction site, which came next day. the badges seemed to be held together not by clips but by little lugs that looked like they’d been melted so they mushroomed. I simply cut the melted plastic away and the badges came apart. When putting back together, I used a soldering iron to do the same and it seems to have worked. All I need to do now is finished some lacquer coats and then I’m going to use strips of gorilla tape for the back. Here’s some images:
  19. Hi all, I looked at classifieds but couldn’t seem to post there so putting it here. Do let me know if it needs to move. I have this display available if anyone is interested. It’s only the display and I switched mine out but am still using the head unit. offers welcome
  20. Thanks - I went for the miltec (?) bulbs for dipped, main and fog in the end. The only annoying thing is the issue with the voltage dripping on the side lights when the dipped beam is on, effectively changing the temp of the bulbs! I was toying with the idea of getting the led side/main beam bulbs that hid direct do now. They’re 5500k and assuming they wouldn’t change temp as they’re led. also wouldn’t have to worry about beam pattern as they’re on main and drl/side
  21. Thanks so if I fitted these, would I need to mess with the figments/plugs and also require coding?? Assuming I could also replace for led bulbs (where applicable)??
  22. Hi all, could one of you kindly tell me if these lights are the led version? They look different to what’s on my 2015 Octavia scout but not 100% sure: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254741726848 If they are of like to install these on mine so wondering if there’s anyone in the Chelmsford area that has vcds? thanks as always
  23. It was to do with headlights - I think I’ve been convinced that trying to upgrade to projectors is a bit of a mission!!
