  1. Good shout. And do the Air/pollen filters yourself. I ordered the best quality available from www.carparts4less.co.uk : Mann Air Filter and Bosch Activated Carbon with Anti-Fungal Pollen Filter, and it cost me around £30.
  2. I was also disappointed with the lack of a service book when I purchased my vehicle a couple of weeks ago. I have bought one from eBay that I will use for Garage stamps (as I won't be going to Skoda for services)
  3. I agree. The 'Oil and Inspection Service' pretty much just consists of an oil change and a look over the vehicle, which in my opinion, is not worth paying for. Driving the car, I would know if something doesn't feel right, rather than someone just having a look over it. Always good to get the oil changed by a professional, the air and cabin filters I just do myself using the best parts available (Mann Air filter, and anti-fungal Cabin filter).
  4. I've also only had my VRS 230 a couple of weeks. I received a Owners Manual, but no service book. When I asked regarding the Service book, I was told that "It's all electronic now". Now this may be great if I take my car to VAG for servicing and all the work required, but I don't intend on doing that. How can I get hold of the service record? How would VAG know when my car's been serviced elsewhere? I've subsequently bought a blank Service Book from fleaBay just so I can keep the records up to date with garage stamps.
  5. Apologies, in my haste, I didn't realise the OP was referring to a diesel.
  6. Yes, Golf was petrol, and so is this one.
  7. Loving the Skoda vibe, so I thought I'd get a few small goodies.
  8. I had a BMC Induction kit on my Golf a few years ago; coupled with a sports exhaust, it made a great difference. I'm also toying with the idea of having something similar on my VRS 230, and am enticed by the RacingLine R600 Cold Air Intake: https://www.racingline.com/vwr12g7r600 I'll probably also go for the turbo muffler delete, thin wall, and inlet pipe as they all compliment the engine.
  9. Thanks. Is there a guide on how to change the rear interior bulbs too please?
  10. It was £65 yesterday! (maybe they're watching this forum, hoping for a sale..)
  11. Thank you both. I'm seriously considering one, as I too, keep a lot of stuff in the boot. How does it fix into the boot?
  12. This looks great. Where did you get the black mesh from, and how did you get it to stick?
  13. Thanks. Although I'm not a fan of rubber (ooo-er!) I'm just trying to find some decent premium aftermarket mats that will bring some comfort as well as practicality.
  14. Having come to SKODA from a BMW 5 series, one fo the things that I am quite disappointed with the carpet mats that came with the car. The drivers mat on my VRS 230 already has a heel hole in it, after only 34000 miles. Does any one have any recommendations for a pair of decent, thick floor mats please?
  15. Does anyone have one of these? Is it useful? I must say the price seems a bit steep at £64.00: https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/collections/skoda-interior-protection/products/skoda-boot-parcel-shelf-storage-box-octavia-3-hatch-5e5061109
  16. I have just purchased an Octavia 3 a week ago, and have noticed something similar; regardless of the temperature I set (not Auto), the middle 2 vents continuously blow out cold air. I have reset the system, which seemed to resolve this for the duration after the reset until the next day, when it went back to blowing out cold again. I'm assuming this is a fault, or am I missing something in the settings?

  19. Thanks for the info, I'll be doing this too on my newly acquired mk3 VRS230.
  20. These ones seems pretty good, made in the UK and they're only around £15 each: https://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot-tailgate But not sure of the size required or original part number
  21. I would really like to install some bonnet struts on my VRS 230, and would really prefer to use some kind of 'genuine' parts. Does anyone know the size (length) of the struts required? Would one from the tailgate of an Octavia/ Fabia/ Golf etc fit? Thanks
  22. Also, the bonnet lining you have: is that standard? Mine doesn't have this?
  23. Looks lovely. Where did you source the bonnet struts from? And how does the CANBUS reverse camera work?
  24. When does that require changing?
  25. Thank you, this is extremely helpful. I cannot understand though how a cambelt would require changing after just 5 years, regardless of mileage. On my VW Golf, it used to be cambelt at 70,000 miles. I have just acquired a 2016 Octavia VRS 230 a few days ago, the only service history I have is that it's had an 'interval service', brake fluid change, and another 'interval service'. Should I be looking at having the Cambelt soon? Does it give an indication anywhere on the Amundsen?
