Connecting the MySKODA App
You don't need WLAN for Android Auto to Work. Your phone logs in to your Skoda account. A USB connection to Android Auto provides the vehicle connectivity/feedback. The WLAN feature allows you to login in to the Skoda online services which have to purchase separately. This provides POI, traffic, weather etc. A quick search revealed other users having issues with the Pixel 4a and Android Auto.

Connecting the MySKODA App
Ok thanks. I'm guessing you have Amundsen duding by the firmware release. I have the same setup in by 67plate TSI and did have issues before 0478 but 0478 firmware did fix some issues I was having with WLAN. I use an iPhone more often than not but have also used an Android phone without issue. The WLAN does not want to connect automatically. I have to turn off my Hotspot and re-enable it for the Infotainment unit to find it and reconnect which can be frustrating. Try deleting and re-adding your mobile, also make sure your Android Auto is up to date. You should also be using a quality USB cable. I presume the 2020 Technology version doesn't have Wireless Smartlink. WLAN gives you access to the Skoda services and isn't required for Android Auto car connection.

What system do you have and what version of firmware is installed on your system. What mobile phone are you using. Need much more info to give guidance.

Sat nav updates from eBay
I took a punt. The seller had good reviews. If it hadn’t worked out is was £30. As it happens could t be more happy.

Internal screens, lights switches etc operating at 5%
Could be a faulty battery. I think, although might be wrong that the Car will reduce power to accessories to preserve battery power. Have you tested your battery.

Sat nav updates from eBay
You will have to contact a dealer to find out. Think it depends on the dealer how much they charge.

Tow bar fitment
I don't have a tow bar, but I believe that unless factory fitted there are other components that require changing to suit towing. If its a small trailer you might be OK, but if you are towing a caravan, you will need to check the cars suitability. Either way you will need to get the Car programmed via VCDS to ensure full compatibility.

Sat nav updates from eBay
Yes just bought a 32GB SD card with 21/22 maps on from Ebay £29.99. Works a treat. Only had a 16GB card before and couldn't get the latest updates on the card, so thought might as well get the bigger card. There are ways of getting the maps on smaller cards by deleting certain files like language files, but for £30 didn't think it worth the hassle when the maps are getting bigger anyway.

Radio station logos disappear when I change preset station?
No it is not. Some might be missing and can be downloaded from the Skoda portal and installed manually via SD or USB, but they should not be disappearing. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds until the unit restarts, This is a soft reset and might help. You will not loose anything.

Great colour. Never been a fan of the VRS wheels though. Enjoy.

WLAN connection reliability
The Amundsen update to 0478 was supposed to fix a number of issues including WLAN reliability. Had a strange one today where I had internet access via my iPhone Hotspot, but the Internet Logo stayed red on the screen. I was able to load the Skoda Connect services, download a route and view various bits of info all apparently without an internet connection.

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Format needs to be fat32. ExFat is not recognised by the infotainment unit. Also show hidden files and delete all the hidden files at the root of the SD card. Macs have a habit of adding files to file systems that can confuse some devices.

Map update issues 2021 help please
Don't think any single file in the maps folder exceeds 4gb in size. I've just purchased a 32gb SD card (Skoda) with the 2021/22 maps on so will let you know. But to double check, do not copy the zip file to the SD card. Extract the Maps folder to your PC then copy that maps folder to the SD card. Make sure you backup your existing SD card before doing so. Fat32 should be fine.

Not happy
My 1.4TSIDSG went back for an Airbag wiring check after the warning light came on. Skoda Assist resolved the issue, but I asked the dealer to give it a complete health check as its an approved Skoda vehicle. My only issue was I had to wait 3 weeks to be able to get a loan car from them. Needed a car for work, so had to wait my turn.

Speed Limits on Amundsen Sat Nav
I have noticed that a great deal of the speed limits shown on the Sat Nav are incorrect, some by a considerable amount. We have a number of 40mph zones near me that have been that limit for a good number of years yet the sat nav is reporting these locations as 60mph. I have the latest maps on my unit downloaded from the Skoda portal. I have reported these limits to the map providers, but it doesn't appear they have done anything. I have certainly not had any feedback from them. SO a word of warning, know your speed limits, do not assume the Sat Nav is correct.

Sound system.
I had assumed it was a new feature of firmware 0478, not a VCDS tweak. Thanks for the info.

I have 0478 but cannot find any sound options for virtual base. Where can I find it.
