  1. Bought a 32GB of Ebay from a UK seller and all is good and works perfectly. However a quick check shows this seller is no longer selling them.
  2. Thanks guys, part now returned to its rightful place.
  3. Found this in the rear footwell behind the drivers seat. I have no idea where it came from. Can anyone shed any light on where this might belong.
  4. Might be talking out of the top of my head here, But I'm sure I read somewhere that E10 froths more and therefore aerates more improving ignition. I've switch to E10 in my 1.4TSI Octavia and have to say that performance is no worse and in fact I think could be marginally better and I haven't really noticed a drop in MPG.
  5. I’ve done the same, but never had to start the engine to move to P before removing the key. I have always been able to move the gear lever to P without the engine running.
  6. Don’t think there is a software fix, it’s a physical switch that gets gummed up and doesn’t know if the car is in P or D. If a software fix was available what would it do other than disable the switch which defeats the object of having the switch in the first place.
  7. I’ve only ever used cheapies from Amazon or £1 shop and never had an issue other than my last post. Just fiddled with connections and the seating and all was ok.
  8. I had this issue only last week. Replaced the battery and the fob would not work. I took the new battery out a few times, even replaced the old battery and it would not work. I then cleaned the contacts inside, and reseated the battery making sure it is fully seated and not at an angle. Been working fine ever since. This is the second time I have replaced the battery in the same fob and the first time went off without a hitch, but the second time was a bit troublesome. If the red light on the fob isn't flashing, its not a sync issue, but the fob battery.
  9. They are, but depends on if you fancy doing it on a regular basis.
  10. Really depends on how badly worn existing non E10 resistant components are. For cars that age, parts will have already worn. Add E10 fuel and the corrosion of parts including seals, gaskets, hoses, pipes and rubbers will be accelerated. With Early 2000's cars some are OK others not, so perhaps worth checking. Really depends how long you intend to keeps the cars as well.
  11. E10 has been available in Europe for much longer than here. I think the roll out started back in 2009. Don't think some countries even have E5 98 Premium unleaded and it doesn't stop them buying the VRS. I'm running E10 in my 1.4TSI and haven't really noticed any drop in MPG or performance. Did a 300 mile round trip last week and averaged 50.1MPG.
  12. I'm running the latest Amundsen firmware 0478 and prior to this suffered the odd crash. Black screen and then a reboot. I also has issues where the unit would not go off when the ignition key was removed. To all intent and purposes this appeared fixed with 0478, that is until now. Over the weekend I have experienced exactly the same issues. Was out on Friday, radio on and Satnav guidance taking us away for the day when I got the black screen of death and the system rebooted itself. The following day I also had the situation where the unit did not turn off with the ignition and the on/off button was unresponsive exactly as happened with the previous firmware. The only way to turn the head unit off is to hold the power button to do a soft reset, wait until it restarts then you can power off as normal. I've also had a strange situation where the information on the head unit is different from the Maxidot display. I rarely go in to Eco-Mode, but decided to switch to it last week. The Head unit shows Eco, the button on the console is orange as it does when in Eco or Sport, but the maxi dot display says D and not E. It appears that although 2 elements were showing that I was in eco-mode against the maxidot display saying otherwise, the car was not in eco-mode at all. This I could tell as the car did not display coasting when no throttle applied. Sorry for the appalling photo, but you can see the head unit showing Eco and the Maxidot displaying D and not E against the gear. Anyone else experienced this on the latest firmware.
  13. China will copy anything and everything. They will mark products with CE stamps and brand boxes accordingly. This is what we need for stop not the legitimate use of OEM parts that truly meet the standards.
  14. It’s a Microswitch on the gearbox. Gets gummed up you could try to clean it but probably best to replace. You can piggyback the replacement on to the original apparently. Had mine done under warranty.
  15. Maps Version 21/22 on my Octavia Amundsen still doesn’t show towns and villages. Real strange omission.
  16. 32gb is the unformatted capacity. Once formatted you always loose a bit for the file system and partition information. Also 1mb equals 1024bytes and 1024mb equals 1gb. Some manufacturers use 1000 as the multiplier not 1024.
  17. The Engineer told me that the Error message you see doesn't always result in it being logged for some reason, he had come across this before, could be a bug in the logging software I guess. I didn't need a new gear selector mechanism either, its a microswitch that gets gummed up. Apparently the repair is just a case of piggybacking a new microswitch on the existing one and swapping the wires.
  18. Yeah I paid £29.99 and got the latest maps. Either way a huge saving on the Skoda pricing. I don’t think they stock them as the maps would go out of date before they are sold so I think they are made to order hence the ridiculous price equivalent to a couple of hours of Labour.
  19. No I don't. Only had the car since December last year, so not sure. Will have to check the coolant container for any other markings.
  20. Yes mine has Dual Climate control, SEL spec.
  21. Doesn’t seem to be any specific year that the bags are present or not. I have a 67 Plate 1.4tsi and it doesn’t have the bag, yet cars both before and after my year have the bag. The coolant container should have “MIT Silikat” printed on it if the bag is present. Mine doesn’t and does not have the bag. Does not really make sense.
  22. I stand corrected, just tested it this morning and you are correct, the stats did update over WLAN Hotspot within the MySkoda App. Learn something new every day.
  23. OK Intersting, I don't think that has ever worked for me without having the phone connected by USB to the car.
  24. The stats will update when you connect your phone and open the MySkoda App. The data does not update across Wifi. Its a physical connection between your car and your phone. Agreed it could be much more informative, but I'm guess that without a complete redesign in function the headhunt will not transmit such data. The Infotainment units gather data, they do not send it out over Wifi hence the hardwired connection.
