  1. The files download at a reasonable speed but are corrupt once finished. Zip file format is invalid.
  2. Having updated maps fairly regularly in the past, I decided to update to the latest 2026 maps from the Skoda port (https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB/Updates/) Every attempt to download the maps, doesn't matter which one, results in a corrupt zip file. I've tried ECE 5 2026 UK and Central Europe I've also tried ECE A1 2026 whole of Europe. I do have a 32Gb Skoda SD card. But in this case its irrelevant as none of the maps will unzip saying the file is corrupt. Wonder if someone else could give it a go and let me know if they have the same issue.
  3. No, the issue has got worse over time. My wife heard water sloshing and it’s only after a really heavy rain storm that the water builds up and you can hear it. I can only assume the window seals have hardened as well, so may replace them. When I open the door, water drains but very slowly. Obviously with heavy rain the water cannot escape quickly enough and builds up when he door is closed and the seal compressed. I opened the door tonight and no water came out, pulled back the seal and out it came. Cannot see what your point is, doesn’t matter when I find out about an issue. I carry bottles of water in my door as I travel a lot. At the time I assumed that was the water moving.
  4. I've had the car 4 years and had 4 years warranty cover 2 when I purchased and 2 when I extended. I’ve had work done under warranty recently, the door lock failed. I will asked, they can only say no and I will replace myself, but if it’s been highlight in the engineers manual they will only do the job if someone complains, they won’t do it otherwise as it will cost them parts and Labour.
  5. Problem still exists on my 67 plate Octavia so clearly manufacturing are not using the modified seals if in fact the modified seal do actually work. I have an extended warranty and due for a service in early October so I will raise the issue with them then. I could hear water swilling in the door, opened the door and pulled back the seal from the door and got a flood of water.
  6. I get that but this is about the 1.5act in particular.
  7. So no recommendations at all on the replacement schedule. How does that work.
  8. Yeah had my 67 plate 1.4 done at 5 years but not sure if it was really necessary although I do have an extended warranty so likely a get out clause should anything have failed during this period. We need to get back to chains.
  9. Sort of defeats the benefits of the engine supposed improvements in economy when in theory you have to fork out over a £1000 every five years for this.
  10. Paid £500 for my cambelt on 1.4SE-L late last year. Cannot believe the 1.5 is so much more expensive. The 1.4 doesn’t include the water pump as that the other end.
  11. As far as I know the LED units are not sealed units like old headlights used to be and will get moisture and condensation in them. There isn’t enough heat from the LEDs to burn off the condensation. It will eventually go. Must admit your is the worst I’ve seen, I get moderate condensation in the lower half occasionally.
  12. Blackcircles gives the right tyre size for my registration, but worth double checking.
  13. Its happening on my 67 plate SE-L. Random freezes, reboots and sometimes the unit fails to turn off when removing the key, this happened only yesterday. The only way to turn if off is a soft reboot (Pressing the on/off button for 10 seconds) then once rebooted manually turn it off. Had the navigation database fail a number of times as well. I had purchased a 32GB VAG SD Card so took the chance to re-format and update the maps, but it hasn't fixed the freezing issue. I'm running the latest firmware as well.
  14. Knees. Sorry couldn't resist. All cars will eventually make strange noises. Could be rubbers wearing on suspension, dry joints a whole host of causes. Any advisories on the previous MOT referring to bushes etc. I'm more irritated by internal rattles and squeaks.
  15. So my later 67 model does not, but you would expect that if it is emission related that the default would be Eco across the board.
  16. Yes the facelift model, twin headlights with LED strip split across both underneath.
  17. Yes the letter before the gear number always reverts back to D but all other settings remain as Individual or Normal depending on settings. Yes same model 1.4 TSI 150bhp DSG, this is my issue so appears to be a feature that cannot be changed.
  18. Odd, mine doesn’t. Have tried individual and although the Amundsen says its individual the driver display returns to D and definitely not in Eco mode. No matter what I try it always returns to D on restart.
  19. Not sure if this is a fault with all models or just mine. 67 Plate SE-L fully updated Amundsen head unit. When I’m Eco mode the Amundsen display and the mode button both show the car is in Eco mode (Button Illuminated and Eco showing top left off Amundsen display) but the driver display shows normal drive mode (D) Car is definitely not in Eco mode and I have to reselect each time I start the car. Is this the same for everyone.
  20. Mine didn’t switch via GPS. Only manual setting which is fine.
  21. Not sure about the Fabia, but if the same as the Octavia it is a Microswitch on the gearbox. On the Octavia they can be piggybacked to the existing switch and the connections moved over I believe so shouldn't be an expensive job, but I guest depends on the garage.
  22. Yep definitely getting the dashboard warning when manually switching so will be interested to know if it does happen.
  23. I'm about to drive in to Europe for the first time in my Octavia 67 Plate SE-L. I have a light setting for left hand and right hand traffic which I get but have never used yet. I have SatNav and have read that the lights possibly change automatically depending on location so when entering France they could switch automatically or do I do it manually. No hardship, just wondering. Anyone able to confirm this.
  24. I think its a lack of knowledge about what an MOT is about. I’ve even seen comments about people having things break down stating that it passed its MOT so should be fine, sad to say that some even interpret an MOT as a service. Previously I have been guilty of worrying about things that are just not part of the MOT hence my comment about the rear high level brake light.
