  1. Hi, out of interest what don't you like about the upgraded alloys? I've been thinking of changing mine from the standard 18s to the sportline ones...
  2. Don't get me wrong I love my iV but... over the past 8 years my pure EV has never failed to charge yet the iV on the otherhand has failed to charge several times and I've only had it sinse January! Normally the issue only occurs when the battery is flat and for some reason the car gets fussy about starting the charge cycle... I find I have to connect the charger, listen out for the car to make a couple of noises to engage the charging cycle and then lock the car. I find if I forget to lock the car and the battery is in the red it won't charge. If I lock the car too early that doesn't help either.
  3. Just to add a slightly different perspective... I went from a 30kw Nissan Leaf to the Skoda Superb iV. I really wanted to stay electric but I also needed/wanted a bigger car for a growing family (height wise not number!). I'm 6ft 4 so not a lot space for someone behind the drivers seat. For a decent size electric car I was looking at what I considered an unaffordable amount of money. My work commute is 14 miles return journey and most of the family journeys are circa 20 miles with the odd 100/200 mile journey thrown in occasionally. The Superb iV ticked a lot of boxes for me and was a compromise from not going fully electric. I also much prefer the drive in e-mode vs hybrid. From a pure financial perspective an extra £4k after around 40k miles I would have saved circa £2.5k on the equivulent 2.0l petrol engine (performance wise electric motor in the iV plus the 1.4 petrol provides similar performance to the 2.0l petrol). So at face value on pure financial merit it does not stack up but factor in personal preference for the electric driving experience and the added bonus of zero emissions for approx 50% of my mileage I'm content. Also, when I bought mine, the iV was pretty much the same price as the 2.0 petrol so I was genuinely going to save £2.5k over the 40,000 miles. I got an ex demo, 11 month old SEL with VC and reverse camera for £25k. I already had a home charger fitted from the Leaf so charging has been easy.
  4. I was thinking of plugging 12v coolbox into boot today but wasn't sure if it would run the battery down if I left it plugged in by accident. Would be good to know how much these impact the battery when engine is turned off and also if they keep running indefinitely or if the car or even the coolboxes switch off after a certain period of time.. Basically this is just a long way of saying I'm watching this thread!!
  5. Hi, I have what I think is the MIB3 unit in my 2020 Sulerb iV. I've pretty much given up with the personalisation settings due to difficulty in assigning users to the keys (the option is not avaliable in the menu so you have to follow a given procedure which is so incredible temperamental). I'm now just using the memory button on the seat to sort the seat and mirros Is there a way to disable the welcome menu when it asks for you to select a user? It takes a good 30 seconds to load during which time I can't do anything in the headunit!
  6. Hey guys, can I have some advice on how to tell if my headunit is MIB2.5 or 3. It's in the Superb IV 2020. Is there a pert number/model that I can check?
  7. Has anyone debadged the facelift superb? I'm thinking of removing the S K O D A letters from the back and whilst I have a fair idea of what it will look like I'm not 100% if I want to do it or not...
  8. Are you sure? My iV has a fake engine noise when it's running on battery only...ive also read that it can be adjusted
  9. If not I wonder if it would be covered by car insurance with the replacenent window cover so you would generally pay less excess and not affect no claims??
  10. Yes, there are different settings within the Hybrid mode. One setting allows you to maintain the battery percentage.
  11. Oh hadn't realised it won't ship to the UK at the moment.. will have to have a rethink.
  12. What's on your list Sasha? I'm thinking of getting the rear number sportline diffuser and a set of rubber mats for the winter - with two young kids a muddy walks the fabric ones are high maintenance!
  13. They look really smart. I quite like the chrome strip running across the back of the bumper between the exhaust tips..had my eye on these for a while now but not sure on the quality. Also tempted with the rear diffuser here from superskoda.
  14. Mine was end Jan 20.
  15. I think you can set the sensitivity to Early and Late if I remember correctly
  16. It's not quite as bad as that clip but it is definitely an artifical noise. You get used to it after a while but I belive there are ways to turn it down if you have vcds or you can disconnect the speaker the noise comes from... I'm sure there are some other posts on here somewhere about that.
  17. I have a USB wireless charging pad that I use in my house. I thought I would try and see if it would power from the car USB and micro USB sockets but unfortunately it doesn't. I assume there isn't enough power coming out of the sockets to power it?
  18. Thanks everyone. I will make sure I put the handbrake on before selecting P.
  19. I have a 2020 Superb iV and am experience a slight issue with the parking break. I park up on my driveway which is on a slight slope going backwards. When I switch the car on, release the parking break I then try and move the DSG stick form P to Drive, 50% of the time it moves smoothly out of P but the other 50% you have to give it a real tug to move it and you can feel it 'clunking' out. Has anyone experienced this before? I was wondering if it was because I was putting it in P too early when I was parking up so I made sure the car was completely stationary before putting it into Park but it hasn't helped.
  20. For step 3 try holding the number button down for a few seconds. That's how I manage to get mine set
  21. Helpful video - thank you. In summary from the video and taken with a pinch of salt.. 0-100kmph 12.07 seconds in e-mode 10.32 in hybrid 7.09 in sport
  22. I've been having similar issues. Ended up uninstalling then reinstalling the app again. That seemed to do the trick for me.
  23. Yeah, some would say it was a backwards step. We had two leafs a 30kw and a 24kw but only need one car now but need something decent size due to two growing children and me being 6ft 4. The leafs just weren't big enough. I would love to have stayed fully electric but just couldn't find a car within budget that was big enough and took my fancy. We rarely do more than 25ish miles a day so the PHEV seemed like the next best thing. There is a drop in performance on emode compated to the Leaf but I find myself happily cruising around in the Superb rather than nipping around in the Leaf of that makes sense! It would be interesting to see the 0-60 stats for the Superb in emode only but I couldn't find them anywhere.
