ALG and Lane Assist
Nope I have video the start up NO message. Imo I think they are having a laugh! Hope the new dealer is better.

Sorry meant to check today, will double check over the weekend.

ALG and Lane Assist
Really sorry to read this, I can confirm after a longer journey I Do get strong feedback from steering wheel. Can you use another dealership to check the car? Have you escalated directly with Skoda if it is still in Warranty? What a sorry state of affairs.

ALG and Lane Assist
See if you can have a test drive in something similar, I guess you might have tried that with them already. I clearly remember the salesman when I picked up the car saying that you had to fight the lane assistance and I was a bit huh! But he was right it makes you aware if your not expecting the resistance.

ALG and Lane Assist
I am pretty certain this is the case although I have not really done any serious driving this last year. When I first got the car I was surprised by the action, it was very noticeable and the Salesman talked about turning it off. I do remember seeing an article from road safety saying that VWG implementation of safety features was poor as too obtrusive so perhaps they have toned it down?

Karoq choices
As for the early 1.5 manual engine, there has clearly been an issue and hopefully resolved but if I was given a choice of buying the later version then I would. However I have the earlier 1.5 DSG and overall I am happy with a slight niggle as to how it will behave long term. I actually priced up my car for a new build and the price has risen £5k since I bought. So I will keep hold of this one and save myself £5k and the depreciation hit of another £6k and use that for any out of warranty costs. The Karoq is a very nice car and I hope the OP enjoys it when they buy one.

Confusion over official / real MPG of the 1.5 TSI engine

ALG and Lane Assist
Not sure this will help but I think you only get resistance if it shows as green recognise that it is in a lane. If lane symbol shows orange it can not see road marking. So if no resistance and green lane symbol I would say its not working as expected. Should be dead easy to prove by dealer if you are near a motorway or decent dual carriage way with clear white lane marking. With mine it does not weave when locked into a lane but will keep middle even when lanes curve. Sounds like you have problems?

SQUEAKS !
Nope, my Octi did but Karoq has been squeaky free..

Excessive condensation
Just been sat too long, do a long drive with A/C on to take moisture out of air. My wife's car has hardly been used, snow and ice means she has lot's of moisture in car as you described. Today with sun on car she has had windows and boot open to try and dry it out. But the real answer is the A/C and a decent drive...

Buyer's remorse, please help.
Yes a great car, some early ones had niggles that should have now been resolved. If you plan to keep it then get the extra two year warranty before car is delivered, only available from factory built orders. The 1.5 engine has a decent amount of poke for overtaking. The DSG is my first and I don't think I will drive a manual again. I plan to keep mine for many years as long as the major items don't need replacing. My regret was not getting the extended warranty.

Skoda Enyaq
If you were needing it to get topped up to get home I would be incandescent. I often wonder if there is any hope for humanity based upon some of our behaviour. We had snow here the last few days and some folk built fantastic snow men / creatures, yet over night some sods decided to destroy them. Idiots. Items like charger blockin are dissuading me from making the leap for me. There will always be a percentage of humanity that don't give a toss for anyone else.... If you can isolate from the need to use public charging, i.e my wife's run around if we can sort out a home charger it might make sense. The downside is the car cost is slightly too expensive at the moment but edging closer to acceptable just... Thanks for giving me further insights to the real world EV issues. Lockdown is giving me time to see what our next car move will be.

Skoda Enyaq
Thanks for your perspective, I have seen some comments on an EV forum about Telsa hogging charging stations, I guess the bigger the battery the longer it takes to charge on the slower speed charging stations. It seems the charging network is just not quite there yet. Ok if you can charge from home and don't need to rely on charging to get home. Good to know the Telsa flaws...

Skoda Enyaq
Interested why you are fed up with the Telsa? I am following closely some EV forums and the Telsa seems to be getting things right. The charging infrastructure a key selling point.

Temporal paradox/time zone question.
Here is when it went dodgy for me.

Temporal paradox/time zone question.
It gets confused occasionally and usually sorts itself out on next power up. I have seen this happen a couple of times. Think I have mentioned it previously would need to check my posts to be sure...

MPG Review after 2nd full years of driving
Of course YMMV on usefulness but for me there is a clear correlation between warm weather and better MPG, which is no surprise. Also which is no surprise the more often you travel further then your MPG will tend to be better. 😉 Nothing particularly special about the figures, just interesting to see what charts the app has. Overall average after 29577 miles is 43 MPG but the charts give that figure some context imo.

MPG Review after 2nd full years of driving
Hmm... All charts show mileage or mileage per gallons not litres. Two types of charts one shows average mileage per day driven the other labelled MPG by month shows what I got compared to how much I was driving the car... The last two show for the entire cars life since I started using the app. When you fill up the car to brim you enter on the android app the mileage and amount of fuel taken to brim the tank I stop filling at first click. Hopefully that helps explain what you are looking at?

MPG Review after 2nd full years of driving
Good morning folks and as the year draws to a close I thought some of you might be interested in these stats for my 2018 1.5 DSG Petrol Karoq. I did my last fill up of petrol last week and I don't think I will be driving any great distance soon... I did not keep record from August 2018 when I got it but I now have a couple of years of data. Obviously 2020 has been some what of a different year from 2019 and my driving distance have dropped some what. But it does give some ideas on what you might get and may be helpful for others? Lets hope 2021 improves. The last two images show all figures added together to produce a total based on everything but you will see the last few months I have barely been driving any where and the short journeys hammer the MPG.

Time for a change !
For me it is useful in the Karoq section of the forum. YMMV. Thanks for the update and comparison. I am doing the research to understand how wall chargers are installed. I have a 400 year old house and the electricity supply was not planned for when it was built. This has meant compromises as the house has been updated. Add to that the garage is 20 metres away from house it might not be a straightforward installation.

JKW if you can spare the time and effort I would too like to know how you get on with Kia and your new car. I have been a long time Skoda fan but feel Kia might be the new Skoda so keen to hear your views...

Karoq software update. Progress report.
No response from SUK yet so have chased them again today. Thanks for the updates I will see if there has been any new update I think I had the 24EU update applied but it really has not made any difference IMO. It is not a major problem just a little niggle and was wondering if they had done any more on this, I guess not...

Dirt Marks after Rain below Driver Door handle
Thanks for the responses I will try and get handle off to check it out - as Car is parked on main road this is a problem and the weather is not great at the moment but hope to check it out soon. Cheers

Karoq software update. Progress report.
I will update folk if I find out there is any new ECU update but I am not holding great hopes. I will write a formal letter saying it is not fixed to the dealer and Skoda before the Warranty expires as a marker in case of further trouble. Not that it will do any good but I am always prepared to try small claims if I think I have a case. At the moment the car works but is not smooth at start up and it was not fixed in Nov last year. The joys of being on the bleeding edge of car design...

Karoq software update. Progress report.
Well winter is coming and after a nearly a year after the update done on my car in Nov 2019 I am wondering if any DSG drivers are still having the jerky drive in low gears just after start? I have popped Skoda a question to see if there has been any new ECU updates for this issue. I should be on ECU version 9752 but as there is no way for me to check all I can believe is that they did it in Nov. I have been living with it but would ideally like it sorted before the warranty runs out in August next year...
