  1. Well today it departed and I have mixed feelings after having the car since 2018. Since having one of the first Octavias in the UK in 1996 I have been a Skoda fanboy. But today I have jumped ship to Hyundai and an Ioniq 5 EV ultimat with tech pack so get an interesting top down view and lots of bells and whistles. My Skoda is on the way to Kent for a temporary loan and after that will find it's way onto the second hand market. KK18MFU If you see it to buy it's a good one and bar a little rough on startup in cold weather it's been very good to drive and has served me well. I hope it finds a good second home and now to find the Hyundai version of Briskoda. Lot's to learn and get set up. I have enjoyed my time watching and learning from the forum. Thanks to everyone who has helped me understand things that I never knew. Cheers...
  2. If you are UK based 4 seasons are the way to go imo...
  3. Not sure what you mean? 🤔
  4. Hyundai Ioniq 5 new version extended range. My wife loves her Kona and we need something slightly larger for holidays. The fast charging and features of the Ioniq 5 hits all the tick lists. I did test drive and Enyaq but the dealership experience was awful. I don't necessarily think Hyundai dealers will be better but the car was good and time for me to reduce the petrol bill. Last weekend we took 77 kWh off the grid to be paid 77p for doing so. Agile tariff. But this is really for another thread. Good luck to the OP in getting it sorted...
  5. Yep since owning one of the first Octavias into the country from 1996 I have been a Skoda fan boy and only bought Skoda. The lads in the office were making fun of me back then as they couldn't get past the badge. Now my new car arrives in the new year and it's not a Skoda. The Karoq has been pretty good and I have had no serious complaints but the Brand and dealership base are not what it used to be. VWG are in serious trouble and China is going to bury them if they can't up their game. So I hope the OP can get the right ECU on his car to mitigate the problem. Good luck...
  6. ECU version 9752 is the last I got, but no way to check. 2019 so I am guessing you should have the "fix" and you now have a feature? If it is too much you can try a declare car not fit for purpose depending on how long you have owned it. The thread above is one that I found with a quick search there well could be others. My car has been ok with it and while not 100% smooth certainly acceptable. It will be sold in new year when I transition to an EV...
  7. Hi from distant memory when Skoda UK helpline was based in Sheffield they would tell you what version you should be on. There was a version update yonks ago mine is a 2018 car so I think with a 2021you should be on the latest version. I would suggest you web chat Skoda UK in the hope they can tell you what the latest versions are for your car. I would keep it friendly and neutral and just ask what the latest versions are. Good luck.
  8. I have the words "Additional Inspection Scope" against the section Additional Work Carried Out. I kicked up a fuss a year ago in August - I think I put a bit on the forum about dealers just not doing the work. In 2022 I have the words "additional Inspection Scope" again in the Additional work carried out section. So I am guessing it should maybe there for you?
  9. Just been to a dealer today for a problem with my wing mirrors and they did an inspection (sales opportunity) of the car and flagged my cracked headlights to up sell me new ones. As I have had a warranty since buying it I asked if it's a warranty job. Answer no. I didn't have life shine on car. I think its just poor quality plastic. I have read the warranty document linked above and it's not mentioned as covered so likely isn't but great if folk got it resolved under warranty. Water damage is specifically excluded from warranty which is likely the issue with my wing mirrors but they worked when the technician checked them despite not working for me when I needed them a few weeks ago!!! So a wasted trip for me...
  10. Useful topic thanks. My wing mirrors are not adjusting and this could be the fault. As I have warranty I am hoping that will cover the work. Thanks for the photo very helpful.
  11. Extended Scope. I can't be arsed trying to remember exactly how they describe them one is slightly different from the other but not much, so forgive me saying Major, tis just my way of saying the more detailed service. So Pollen filter can only be done on extended scope if that's the correct current term... Unless anyone asks a relevant question that's me finished on this. I posted it to make folk aware, if they can be arsed to check when their Pollen filter is due... A 1st world problem that even if missed for a year isn't the end of the world.. 😉
  12. Quick update. Pollen filter replaced today for £40 at the cost charged to Skoda brand MK. It would appear Skoda have changed the software so for an All In One policy you can only have the pollen filter replaced on the major service. That is despite if the service schedule states it should be done sooner. Poor software? Poor implementation? Without seeing the software who knows. Ultimately poor management. The fact that Skoda brand has paid for it says they have messed up and I hope they tweak the software to allow for the filter to be changed when scheduled. I also got a rather impressive Hamper as a gesture of goodwill which mitigated my annoyance of having to drive 30 minutes each way to the dealer. Case closed for me but again my trust in Skoda management and processes damaged.
  13. You have misunderstood. The pollen filter is due now. It was not done as the dealer has said that the Skoda computer system they use wouldn't allow them to do it. It is very clear it is due to be done and the dealer is refusing to do it. The latest statement from the dealer to customer service is a joke. That conversation never happened and I shouldn't have to point out the defence is utterly wrong as I have an All In One policy where I pay a monthly fee to get that work done as per the service schedule Skoda lays out on their web site. I am not going to renew my all in one policy if I can after the end of it. I will be selling the car at some stage. Skoda is clearly losing the plot with the Customer service team who really don't understand the issue and just getting paid for doing nothing other than winding up customers.
  14. You gotta love Skoda Customer service... A response to my complaint that the pollen filter was not undertaken as part of the service. Arbury have fabricated a discussion that Never took place... To be continued.... Thank you for your recent email regarding the All-In Service Plan you hold with our Financial Services. I appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and I understand how confusing this situation must be. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have received a response from Arbury Škoda, advising us that you declined to pay the additional £43.00 fee for the pollen filter replacement. According to the Service and Maintenance Schedule, the cost is £220.00 for the Oil and Inspection service, with an additional £43.00 for the pollen filter replacement. As you did not agree to this additional fee, the pollen filter was not replaced. I hope this clarifies why the pollen filter was not included in your recent service. Your understanding and patience in this matter are greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you for contacting Škoda Customer Services. I look forward to hearing from you soon. May you have a wonderful day.
  15. Sorry I don't understand the question? The dealer is saying they can't add it to the job and only allowed to do at the next service in a years time.
  16. 6 years old. The dealer a different one said it was due a change this year. The schedule is very clear on the web site it is now due.
  17. Yep but as I have paid Skoda the All In One service fee then I am expecting it to be done as part of the Skoda service schedule. The issue is that the dealer says the system will not allow them to do it as part of the specified Skoda schedule. So it does seem insane that they are refusing to do the work despite Skoda official schedule. I am only paying for the all in one as it gives warranty cover and if I wasn't paying for it then I wouldn't be using a Skoda dealer to maintain the vehicle. Anyway I will see what Skoda says when I take it up with them next week as I am retired and have time to play the game with them. I like the vehicle but stuff like this destroys the brand.
  18. Just for interest I used the Skoda chat service to ask the question re schedule for the Pollen filter. Anyway that conversation proved that the person was not a Skoda expert. I did check the web site and it shows that Pollen filter is 1st done at 40k and then every 2 years. At a cost of £43 on top of the Oil Inspection and Service. It clearly shows that it IS NOT done at the Extended scope service as being claimed by the dealer. I am looking forward to not being a Skoda customer once I choose to sell the Karoq.
  19. Yep they are doubling down!!! The computer says NO!!! I feel an escalation coming on... The joy of Dealers and computer systems.
  20. As I have paid for the All in One it is... 🙂
  21. So my yearly contact with a dealer and this year I choose to try a different dealer after my fun and games last year. I was stricken with Covid and my wife took the car to the dealer and I am now trying to get the pollen filter replaced. It was missed as part of the service last week. I had expected it to be replaced. I have the 2 year All in One policy to get the warranty and I get two MOT's and two Services plus Pollen, Air and Sparks From my understanding the pollen fiter is 2 years or 40,000 miles and it was last done on my car July 2022 so i expected it to be done last week. I thought it would be a straightforward sorry we missed it and lets sort it for you. A service team member at the dealer has written this... I invite any opinions as to the truth of the statement.
  22. Hi, so have just trawled through my paper work and indeed I did pay for the MOT outside of the "All in One" deal. I think I got a cheap deal at Halfords. So you do need to pay for the 1st MOT and then the following will be covered by the "All in One". Well that was how I did it. Maybe it can be fiddled by the dealers but it did not work that way for me. I will check how much it will cost me to cancel the last few months and see if I can get the discounted "All in One" by the end of August. The current deal I am paying is £25.60 month so it worked out well to cancel it last time (I think I even got a refund as I had not drawn down on the policy). I have a friend who has a Seat version of the Karoq and was quite surprised how much more he was paying....
  23. BTW - I did cancel my policy to get the cheaper price two years ago and it worked out OK. It saved me a lot. My car did not need another check, so I think you were told BS to just get you to keep the policy.... I might see if I can cancel again to get the current 20% off - by end of August unless they run the deal again later this year?
  24. I have reached the end of my "can I be Bothered" tether on this with Skoda. I agree the whoel Cambelt saga is pretty dismal, and it is great that we are now finally in line with Europe, yet they can't find the way to inspect it. I am no mechanic so I can not vouch if it is possible or not... The attitude from VWFS showed me that it was pointless in going any further with a complaint and similar with the dealer, it is not going to gain me anything and on the CamBelt the risk of it going pop in 7 years is something I will live with and if it does then I will no doubt have discussions on how the "All in One Policy" should have clocked it... 🙄 I post this here if anyone else wants to check what they actually get for the All in One and if there dealer inspects the CamBelt then it would be good to know... life is too short...
  25. A quick update... The dealer has agreed to do the inspection and after prompting from me offered a goodwill gesture for my time as I had to take the car back on Friday. Overall on this I have "wasted" 4+ hours... VWFS - (maybe an offshore call handler) says it is an issue for the dealers and ultimately not really interested, just wanted to close complaint down. By the time I talked to VWFS complaints team I had already been called back by the dealer so I agreed to close the complaint down. I took the car in on Friday just before 9am and was told it would be ready by 10am but did not get it back until nearly 11am - I returned to the office from just before 10am. No apology for the delay or missing the work in the first place, and I got the feeling they were not really bothered. While sat watching the team of 3 deal with calls showed how busy the location was and there is a need for a bigger workshop for VAG cars in Banbury I don't think the location can cope and one team member was sat on sofa working with her laptop and did not have a desk. That is never good for team working and needs to be sorted. I got an entry in the service history that "Additional Inspection Scope" was carried out. They said it had a diag check but no fault codes found. They said that I should have had that item line for the future services with the All in One package. I bet others using Banbury have not had it done.... I was told that they could not inspect the Cam Belt and that a video sent to me shows why - never got a video and I will let that one go... Can I trust them? - Who knows? (maybe not but unless you watch them you never know...) Was it worth raising a fuss? - maybe I got a bit of goodwill in £ but maybe lost goodwill from the chaps who carry out the work and might cost me more in the long run, or maybe they will take more care with me in the future? Who knows, I don't... It certainly has left me feeling that if I can use another dealer next time I might well do so. So for those with an "All in One" service package this might or might not be of interest.... I will buy another when this ends because of the Warranty and it gives me a chance (maybe small) to claim on it if something big fails...... As I plan to keep the car for another couple of years...
