  1. Might be worth seeing if you can fit an RCD330 head unit, that's the conclusion I came to when doing the same research for my Octavia. They were standard VW fit in some Chinese models and can be picked up for around £200 shipped from china if memory serves. Depending which one you get, you can have CarPlay and/or Android Auto and I think Bluetooth audio as well, although unfortunately no DAB. You can also find them with Skoda boot screen and green accents for a little bit more money. I don't know how much better the sound quality will be compared to OEM or your Xtrons unit, or whether it will be better at all. The standard fit speakers shouldn't be shocking, but upgrading them is pretty cheap. There's always the option of an amp as well if the HU output isn't amazing. I actually have a mate who might be trying to get rid of an RCD330 out of his Polo GTI, although I have no idea which part number it is. If you decide to go this route then I can put you in touch.
  2. See you found something then!! I'm loving some of the little retrofits you've got going on, one of those cupholders would have improved my Fabia life tenfold.
  3. I have to get excited about something since my actual project car needs more money throwing at it than I can afford 😂
  4. Let's not talk about how much I've spent in the last ten minutes on bits for this car... let's just say it is not compatible with apprentice wages 😫 List is as follows: 2x track rods - there is play somewhere in my steering and I'm 90% sure it's one or both of the inner joints Both track rod ends - might as well while I'm in there since it's getting wheel alignment anyway A couple of coolant hoses - I've had quite an alarming leak from a rubbed through hose for a couple of weeks now A front Skoda badge - it looks tatty A front grille - If you look closely in above photos you can see that mine brayed (braid?) a pheasant at about 50mph not long after buying the car Photos of it all on the car to follow next week, fingers crossed!
  5. Does anyone have a diagram of the PD170 cooling system with part numbers? I have two small hoses which need replacing, one has rubbed through and is leaking and the other has rubbed a little so better safe than sorry. A diagram (taken from ElsaWin?) would be ideal but otherwise I'll put some pictures on here later/tomorrow to see if anyone can identify them.
  6. Awesome build! Just had a nice read through of this thread at work and I love it. Always fancied one of these Felicia/Caddy pickups as a project just do to something a bit different. Keep up the good work!
  7. Looks good, one of the nicer Mk2s I've seen about! Most of them seem to be in crap colours...
  8. Hi Fisher - nice car! I love my Octy estate for the same reasons - huge boot, decent pace and looks great!
  9. Hi Eddie, what unit is that you're testing there?
  10. Anything for £2k will mostly be a modified or ropey Facebook marketplace job. I sold mine a few months back for £2650 with less than perfect bodywork (but not rusty), no options and 145k miles. 2.5-3k should get you something pretty tidy and reliable.
  11. Hi, welcome to Briskoda! Get some photos of your car up, I'm sure plenty of people would love to see 🙂
  12. Far from perfect but here we are...
  13. Bobbed over to the Total Retro show near Kendal this weekend - the dad wagon is a bit new to get in but there were some awesome rides there! The odd rolling shot on the way down... Parked up... 100% recommend to anyone who likes 80's and 90's cars, with little bits of older stuff dotted about too.
