  1. There'll be an underground scene of 1.4 8v Fabias.
  2. Howdy and welcome to Briskoda! Hope you enjoy the Octavia and the site.
  3. I'm downloading Windows 11 to my laptop right now as I send this message. Wish me luck!
  4. I use my smartphone for online banking with Nationwide since that's what they set it up for me back when I opened the account. As such, I've never accessed it anywhere else. I looked at a Windows XP alternative for my 2006 Dell Latitude D400 and opted to try out Lubuntu Linux - which is a Lite Ubuntu type operating system. Ran miles better, even with what's now considered as paltry specifications. I may give Lubuntu (or equivalent) a shot on one of my older laptops at some point. I've had a sub-par experience with Windows 10 overall. I found 7 to be less buggy in comparison. My hardware has obviously changed which has meant that I can't give a clear comparison. Hope that helps.
  5. Yes it will. Remapping places will no doubt do an "EGR software delete" for an amount of money, of course.
  6. I've still got XP on a Dell Latitude that I got for the grand total of... a quid. I have fond memories of surfing the 'net on Windows 98 around 2008/2009 when I was allowed "computer time" at my Grandad's when I'd go there for my tea when my Mum was working. I'll keep an eye out for your W10 technical advice thread, @Tilt. I'll advise where I can too.
  7. I've only ever managed to bring my radiator fan once in the nearly a year I've had my Fabia, and that was on the warmest day of the year with a fairly spirited drive.
  8. Best of luck getting that sorted.
  9. Howdy and welcome to Briskoda. Hope you are enjoying your Karoq and the site.
  10. I see a Mercedes saloon from the back. Front looks a tiny bit like the newest Leon. I don't mind it that much in all honesty, would be nice in black.
  11. SEL trim should have air con I'd imagine. Being close to - if not the actual - top of the range trim level.
  12. Might not have an Octavia, but I did upgrade my bulbs to these. They're rather good, especially compared to the OEM candles. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NMEEV9W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hope this helps.
  13. In order to be able to start the car, you'd need an immobiliser decoder chip within the new key like in the original. Otherwise you've now got a key for central locking and one for starting the car. Hope this helps.
  14. Odd thoughts but... Does anyone else think the MG5 looks rather B6 Passat Variant-esque? At least from the front that is.
  15. Stunning looking Jaaaaaaaaag!
  16. Aye it is. Use fishing line behind the badges and a heat gun to get the glue detached IIRC. You'll probably need a fascia adaptor of sorts to fill in gaps etc. Not sure about grille upgrades/replacements mind you. Hope this helps you, however.
  17. I used Vennal Cameras in Ayr but they haven't stocked it since the discontinuation of Agfa Precisa.
  18. Hello and welcome! One of my mates had encountered this, or a similar one, on AutoTrader recently. I very much like the colour, be sure to make a project thread as Dean says. I would love to see how it all unfolds.
  19. Howdy and welcome to Briskoda. Smashing looking Superb, rather aggressive looking with the blacked out parts and the paintwork. Looks nice!
  20. You, however, appear to have a different "cubby" area. That will be why you didn't need an adaptor.
  21. Sad to hear the Fabia is going, but the Swift seems like a solid choice. Is this going to become a 'Non-Skoda' Project in the respective section?
  22. I hadn't forgotten since I've been reading up on this for a wee while, but I'll have to try and keep it in mind when these come (they're my birthday present from my Grampa) so I've got a wee while yet.
  23. It'll make it that one step closer towards "new motor" territory (it'll never be new without messing with the concept of the space/time continuum) and not the clapped out shed in your rear view mirror.
  24. Think I managed a few months, but mine appear to be fogged beyond "proper" refurbishment and are getting worse already.
  25. Hide the car in a garage and never use it. I kept polishing mine, but it's no good. Went for new units instead, so there's one way to find out if the fogging/yellowing is still an issue.
