  1. Great minds got covered in washer fluid in September when my Grampa pulled the washer and I was poking about with it.
  2. This must be the best thread revival yet. In seriousness, you may find that if you pull the passenger arch liner off, you'll see a pipe has disconnected at the bottom of the pump/bottle. Mine had deteriorated and kept popping off so it is epoxied (I think) on. Hope this helps.
  3. Mine were OEM from a seller on eBay. I don't know if the seller will send to Romania but it's worth checking! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294611758996?epid=561739319&hash=item44983aaf94:g:bkwAAOSwGyteXpf5 Hope this helps.
  4. As an update: I fitted the cage, it's not one of those clicky-locking anti-theft types so the stereo sits nicely enough but can also be pulled it. It's not perfect but it beats accelerating heavily (using all 64 horses) and the stereo bashing the gearstick. After all, it's only in there temporarily until I have a need for the Bluetooth one since I can swap both whenever they're required. Since this mission was successful, a cassette HU with CD changer could be on the cards.
  5. I'd suggest going around the seal of the hatch with a cloth and possibly some silicone grease too. That may help if the hatch seal isn't making good contact due to dirt, at least in my mind.
  6. Hello and welcome from one first time Skoda owner to another! Enjoy the forums.
  7. Hello and welcome to Briskoda! Glad to hear you're enjoying the Octavia!
  8. This thread is 11 years newer than the car and production times we're discussing certainly, but it may help IMO.
  9. I'm not sure and it's hard to tell with some cars, Pete. Since there was 54-reg pre and post-FL models, possibly late reg too. Some 05's were pre-facelift but that's pretty rare due to late reg etc. Maybe someone with more experience/knowledge than myself will be able to fill in the gaps.
  10. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your negative experience with your car, the dealer, and Skoda UK. Happy and safe motoring to you with whatever car you choose next.
  11. Around the time of the facelift as well. If that helps.
  12. It'll probably throw a fit like mine did with the bad earth with temporary PAS and ABS failures due to lack of power amongst other things. I would say that the OP is wrong to continue their journey in such a reckless manner. Personal opinions, of course.
  13. That's the wee bit I'm missing. Has been like that since I bought the car and was told about it before purchasing. I can still put petrol in the thing but before I had the thing for wedging under the pull release my front passenger did not enjoy having to stretch over to keep it pulled.
  14. That bit with the sticky-out tab (nearest the front) goes into the bit at the back of the cap.
  15. I'm a wee bit south, along the A713.
  16. Hello and welcome to Briskoda, Gordon! Nice to meet someone in my neck of the woods, being not too far from Ayr myself.
  17. Thank you. I had never seen such a cubby type thing before so it's nice to discover something new.
  18. I'll drop you a line in the morning. Thank you
  19. Thank you so much for the kind offer, Lee. I appreciate it a lot but I'll manage to sort it.
  20. @TMB - I'm not saying it gets a little expensive rather quickly buttttt.... It's the only delivery service I can select too. The hunt continues. I have a part number now though.
  21. Looks like it to me, for all it costs it's worth a punt IMO. I shall report back. You're a star, Lee.
  22. That's a non-standard cubby by the looks of it, Stewart.
  23. I'll start reaching out to some local breakers when it's warmer. Start doing some dissections. Push comes to shove I can get the cap resprayed or something by a local fella. Cheers, Lee.
  24. That's the part that I haven't got. The little black retention thing still operates as normal. As long as the interior pull lever remains... well, pulled, then you can pry the cap open with a finger or the keys to the car.
  25. Do you mean the wee metal doohicky? If so, mine is what's missing.
