  1. Got a call from Skoda today, to book it because of a fault that affects my iv regarding the "battery protection system". The person on the phone mentioned the 12v system.. and some firmware updates to the battery "command and control module"... Not sure if it's the same thing referred in this topic, or if it was not well explained.
  2. They take CR2032 batteries.
  3. Yes, in the car home menu, when you add a widget by pressing +, if you have a blank page with a lot of space free, a big symlink/carplay widget will appear as an option (I don't remember if is 3x3 or 4x4 or more).
  4. For me it appears between the speedo and rpm counter, in the upper middle, where the volume indicator also appears when you change radio volume. Turn by turn directions only appear when you are approaching the next "action" (when usually the assistant would speak). No need to select car play info inside either dial. Version 1803.
  5. I'm using Apple CarPlay, and if I use Apple Maps (and only in Apple Maps), I have the turn by turn guidance in the middle dash as you say. I imagine that each vendor pushes you to their own stuff and blocks features from others? Google with Google Maps and Apple with Apple Maps.... Never tested with android though.
  6. Well, I had the same happen with Apple CarPlay via wireless, while using Spotify and Waze! I was about to start my trip, and had spotify playing music, but while fiddling with waze the music was interrupted and I was not able to bring it back, not even the car radio! Audio was simply gone... Not sure what caused it. If it was the interruption of the music by waze, that never got "de-interrupted", or, my bet is that waze tried to access the microphone to dictate my destination but got stuck (audio stops when dictating). Since I was stationary, just rebooted infotainment and it never happened again since, even after repeating the same steps...
  7. My car was produced in week 14, April 2021, and came with version 1803 (hardware D). 900km in, and no issues so far.
  8. Well, I just had the same issue, with Car Play, not using the full screen, after I added a 3x3 view of car play to the main screen. The Car Play would always be "processed" in that size, no matter what. After I removed the "widget" from the home menus, it started to display in full screen again when I open the Car Play. Maybe that's the same with Android Auto...
  9. After a few days with my iV I can confirm that the yellow warning light is on when the car is plugged in. No other warning messages are displayed. In my opinion it makes sense, because you cant drive while plugged in
  10. Yes it sure helps! Just configured the scheduling on the app, and looks exactly what I need. Indeed it would be better to have the option on the car, since clearly it is capable of it… Many thanks
  11. I'm always on the cautious side on these things... Shame there's no upper limit then! Oh well... I will have to manage manually when I can and try not to worry much when I leave it alone... About the warning light, yes, I did saw it on when I plugged in, and remembered your topic actually! But I want to test again, because I was with the door and windows opened, key inside, etc. Will try again in a controlled scenario and report back!
  12. Well, I'm not sure if it helps long term or not, but I want to take care of the batteries as much as possible. I plan to keep it for a long term. Usually the recommendations that I've read say to not leave is discharged (to 0% or near 0%) and to not constantly charge to 100%. That's my concern, and I assume it is also applicable to smaller batteries from hybrid cars..
  13. New Octavia PHEV arrived today, plugged it in my garage and left it charging. I want to stop charging after 80% for example, because I don't need all the range on my daily drives. But I could not find a setting to set a maximum charge limit! Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? I'm looking at the Skoda Connect app and I can manually stop the charge, but that's not ideal..
  14. Just picked it up All good so far! Really liking it! Came with version 1803, and HW ending in letter D.
  15. I ordered mine before finding this forum and reading about all the issues. If I had seen it before, probably would have looked for alternatives. My expectation is that a more recent build would have less or no issues. Also, I'm not in the UK, so the kmh/mph issue does not apply. Picked it up today, and only on a short drive everything seems great! But time will tell...
  16. Update on my delivery! Ordered on the 24th of February 2021 an Octavia iV (PHEV), high trim, 18' inch wheels, full led matrix and electric tailgate; Dealer submitted internally on the 26th; Got build for week 14 (2nd week of April) and confirmed it. Dealer saw chassis number appearing on that week; Waited for transport and boat to Portugal. (yes, for some reason they arrive by boat here too..) Arrived to the dealer last Friday and I'm going to pick it up next Wednesday 26th. Almost exactly 90 days as per estimated.
  17. Looks great, nice choice of color 😁 I’m also from Portugal and waiting for mine in Lava blue too! (Arriving this month) But don’t worry, mine is an Estate (need the space for kids stuff), although I also agree that the car looks better 😎 I will all let you know then how it goes regarding potential issues… Best of luck mate!
  18. I did the paperwork and sent a small deposit to the dealer, for an iV Estate, on the 24th February, and car was ordered/submitted to the system on the 26th. Then I got a build date on the 10th of March, 2 weeks after my initial order request. I did everything remotely with the sales person of the dealer (I’m in Portugal).
  19. Just got a call from my dealer, and got a build date for week 14 (5 to 9 April). That was faster than expected! I ordered on the 26th February.
  20. Mine is a Plugin Hybrid, iv Estate. With the "Style" pack, which is the pack with the most options (high trim, 18' inch wheels, full led matrix, etc), and I also added electric tailgate, side assist, ambient lighting. Original estimate in Portugal is between 12 and 16 weeks (depends on which dealer you ask). So I expect delivery in June, but they say it can be earlier, and that I should have a build date soon. Lets see...
  21. I ordered in the last week of February, and for the build date my dealer mentioned that I might have it this week or next week. I’m stating to think that will not happen 😅 I will let everyone know when I have the date. (my order is for an iv estate)
  22. In Portugal configurator it only mentions interior ambient lights and then front and rear lights on the footwell. No mention of the doors. And when I ordered I checked with the dealer, and even saw one on the dealership, and the led strip was not present in the back doors. Didn’t think much of it, doesn’t bother me, but indeed the information you have says otherwise! By principle, they should deliver what they advertise, in my opinion... Even if it’s different by country, for some strange reason...
  23. Nice!! Interested in hearing from your feedback after a few days of use. Both from the practical perspective, since we have the same use case, and in terms of issues. Reading a few posts here from the new Octavias is stating to have me worried! Hope it’s all sorted now! Also, haven’t decided yet if I’m going to do detailing or ceramic coating.. or nothing. Still learning about all that...
  24. Ordered an iV last week! The station wagon with the style package and a few other extras. Planning to use it in electric mode only for my daily commute (25km per day, 30km at maximum), and hybrid mode on weekend family trips. Hope to get it in May.
