Automatic adjustments for driving in Europe?
In the UK keep it on left, if in Europe change it to right. It's based on the lane the car is in, not the side of the vehicle you are seated in.

Automatic adjustments for driving in Europe?
Nothing on mine is automated, I change to right side driving manually. The clock is set by GPS but that never updates itself, neither from entering Europe nor updating the switch from BST to GMT etc.

DSG Reset (Basic Settings)
Did they have selectable engine modes on those cars? Just wondering how the two might tie together, or if they don't. I wonder if the differing modes have made that feature obsolete perhaps? Thanks for confirming what the manual covered, that gives a lot of credence to my suspicion that if it isn't covered in a manual then it is because the car doesn't have it.

DSG Reset (Basic Settings)
This self-learning thing has to be a complete myth. Why wouldn't it be mentioned in the otherwise comprehensive manual that has a section devoted entirely to how the gearbox operates? It also makes no sense. Automatics don't change gear depending on the length of the journey made. If you're cruising at 70mph you'll be in the highest possible gear, regardless of whether you are travelling 200 miles on a day trip on a motorway, or whether you pop out to buy a newspaper every morning and you happen to buy it at the service station which happens to be on a motorway only one mile away from your house. If you're up to 70mph you'll be in top gear regardless of it being a short trip you do every day or you're going on holiday. The car responds to throttle input full stop, if you keep your foot to the floor you'll be in shorter gears for longer, that rings true for autos and manuals. The DSG won't ignore throttle inputs, it will do what all autos do in the same circumstances, what is there to learn? I'm not saying there definitely isn't some sort of reset, athough to reset what I don't know, as I don't know either way. I don't believe in this self-learn thing though for the above reasons though, there's zero requirement for it to exist, and no way would a feature that alters the parameters of how the car drives not be mentioned officially in any documentation anywhere by VAG.

New purchase - SOS issue again
I successfully rejected my Octavia Mark 4 in 2021, after around 5 months of ownership, due to the software being absolute gash. This is all heavily documented on the relevant forum. Your dealer is talking absolute BS.

New purchase - SOS issue again
99 times out of 100 the head unit will either never receive the destination, or it will appear after a lengthy time, sometimes after 15 minutes, sometimes on a journey days later. I've long stopped bothering with trying to send destinations. For what it's worth though, I tried researching this after I'd gotten the car and the Skoda websites are an absolute mishmash of redirects and contradictions and it was quite difficult to get a straight answer on this, however.....my understanding is that feature isn't available (as per the supposed procedure) in at least the UK. According to the procedure for this, the head unit is supposed to have a menh function you enter into in order to receive and save the destination, only there is no such function within the menus anywhere. Meanwhile the app offers the functionality, even though the car doesn't. The car will, at random, sometimes tell you there is a new destination and ask if you want to save it. It usually never appears though. My point is you are supposed to be able to navigate through the menu and find the new destination to save it, only no such section in the menu exists to do this. Please update me if you get anywhere on this however!

New purchase - SOS issue again
My Superb is 2021 and I had this start popping up after a year of ownership, which suggests the fault was introduced through an update during that time. The dealer knew all about a software update being required to fix it. Software update was done, several months down the line it hasn't recurred. Get the update done!

Skoda Connect
I renewed so I would get up to date maps and traffc info for the satnav I use week in week out. I have no problems paying for a service I want. You could of course just go for a nice dinner, but the satnav may not get you there!!

Android Auto keeps disconnecting
I find it impossible to pin down AA issues and whether disconnection faults lie with the AA software, the mobile hardware/software, or the infotainment hardware/software. I only ever use the original Samsung cable if I wish to plug in, and it works 99% of the time. I do get the odd disconnect still though. Advice online about cleaning usb sockets or plugs os absolute tosh, utter utter tosh. IT connections will continue to operate in even the most dire circumstances, it isn't fluff causing these problems. Where I always face issues is using wireless AA. It connects automatically, so no issues with signal when entering the car, but some days I can drive 2hrs and not disconnect from wireless even once, other days it will disconnect two minutes after puling away. I have always kept my mobile in the armrest holder thing (in the middle behind the gearbox). This weekend I tried putting it in the sliding compartment in front of the gearstick, and the wireless connection worked without fault. I do need to repeat this many times before I can say that it is a fix for wireless use however. But if it is a fix, does that mean that the infotainment's bluetooth and wifi reach is so weak that it will keep losing wireless connection if the phone is in the central armrest? Either that or the armrest is lined with lead?! It isn't just wireless though, as I say I have lost connection via a perfectly functioning Samsung USB as well. Trust me, the cable is 100% genuine and 100% works. I have been through all the nonsense with Samsung and also AA support and done everything they have suggested, none of it makes any difference. But is it the phone, AA, the car? Who knows.

Customising home page on infotainment
IIRC there is a shortcut you can add to the swipedown bar at the top of the screen, which you can press and it makes the screen turn off without switching off the actual infotainment. I handed my Octavia back however and never bothered looking for the same setting on my Superb as I never really used it on the Octavia, but it was definitely possible to blacken the screen.

Problem understanding 'Safelock' issue
I had something similar with a Superb courtesy car, while my then Octavia was at the dealership not being repaired. This was in a 6-speed manual but same thing of pulling out of a junction and the engine cutting out of its own accord, followed by the message asking me to start the engine myself. Not a great experience on a 60mph road with cars fast approaching and wondering why you've pulled out and immediately begun slowing down.

Travel Assists and SOS faulty
Sounds correct to me, as when I picked the car up after mine was updated by the dealership it immediately did three OTA updates on the way home, one of which it stated was to correct a data sim error.

ACC Unavailable
Just to check, was it raining? I've had this come up twice and both times was during a torrential downpour - which obviously makes the vehicle in front unreadable. It did however initialise by itself on the same drive, after the rain eased. So mine wasn't a fault, it was working as intended by disabling for safety reasons. Possibly not applicable to you, but worth a mention for anyone else thinking they've had a fault when it may have been weather conditions.

Travel Assists and SOS faulty
My software was recently updated to 0306, the dealer telling me this update includes a fix for SOS. It is only available at dealership level I believe, it is not an OTA update or from the Skoda update website. I'd had the SOS error about 4 times, but only after a year of ownership (from new), so I strongly suspect a previous software update had introduced the bug in the first place. I haven't had the error back, but as I say it was only four times I think, and they were reasonably far apart as well, so this isn't me saying it definitely is the cure for it. The dealership did however say straight away on the phone that they had an update that cures it and had applied it to other Superb's for the exact same thing, there was no bullsh!tting from them. What software version are you on? What is the Travel Assist warning actually telling you by the way?

Electronic Parking Brake Red light warning
Yellow warning will have accompanied a message on the dashboard telling you of an issue, but it doesn't always mean a fault. For example, in extreme weather the Front Assist cannot work. I have had this on icy mornings. Twice in extreme rain while using ACC the car has disabled the ACC (as it obviously can't detect the car ahead anymore). Both times the yellow triangle has stayed on until the car decides to enable the functions again. They aren't faults though. To caveat the above, it could also mean a fault as likewise the error message for some faults (SOS being one) goes away, but the triangle stays. Most likely a sensor or software, as per examples above, as anything safety critical etc will have its own warning light that will stay on, such as engine, temp etc.

Electronic Parking Brake Red light warning
This comes up if you engage the parking brake yourself, it isn't a warning. Are you manually engaging the parking brake and then this comes on? If yes, that is correct. The green P is just the auto-hold engaging, not the parking brake itself.

Tall drivers in the Superb
6' 1" with my seat as low as possible and I find everything is perfect for me, excluding the internal mirror. On certain road-contours I have to duck to see what is coming, plus I also find myself on motorways ducking to see if anything is coming down sliproads, plus the mirror obscures indicators on some vehicles while I am passing. So...not the best, I do a lot of ducking, but it has become second nature.

A/C vs AUTO - What's the difference?
Not to me buddy, I get through enough Nivea as it is (and yes I'm a bloke)!

If the tailgate electrics fail, can it be closed manually?
When mine was delivered I had no idea it even had an electric tailgate and the bloke parked it up then wandered off for the paperwork, having told me to help myself having a look around for damage etc. Having done so, he still wasn't back so I went to have a look in the boot and helped myself by pressing the button and pushing the tailgate all the way up by myself. Needless to say within seconds he was over to advise that pushing up an electric tailgate isn't necessary! The lesson from my story is, you can most certainly push it open by yourself. I'd therefore assume you can push it closed too (although it probably doesn't lock).

Oil service?
Nice one, thanks.

Oil service?
On the subject of oil changes, mine (variable) flashed up tonight advising I have 1100 miles to my oil change/service. Dealer had left me a voicemail by the time I got to looking to book me in. What I'm unsure of is, if (as a hypothetical example) I somehow got this done tomorrow is this 1100 remaining mileage added to the next lot (appreciating it is variable, so not an exact mileage between services) or would I be diddling myself out of the remaining 1100 miles and servicing a car that doesn't actually need servicing for a further 1100 miles?

Floor matts and other kits recommendation?
I bought the plastic boot tray there and it's great. Fits perfect and a good inch deep so any muck etc in it just sits there waiting either for a rapid vacuum, or simply lifting the tray out and dropping the muck out. £29.99 and highly recommended for hikers (mud), beach visits (sand) and no doubt for those with kids or even cyclists chucking some stuff in the boot. Just lifts out too, so can always be kept in the garage when not required, although mine just lives in the boot.

Tyre pressure sticker missing
If your motor is the same as mine (1.5 DSG) and you are on 18" wheels as I am, then the pressures are: Unladen F36/R36 (PSI) Laden F36/R47 (PSI)

Sos error phone workshop gremlin
I've just been to France a couple of weeks in the car and had this happen to me again, twice, both times in the same area....the east side of the M25! Once was heading to Dover, the second was heading back. Interestingly both times the satnav remained functional, unlike the first. Looks like there may be something to this being location-specific.

Superb Estate foreign travel bulb kit
Weirdest stop for me was on the German side of the Polish/German border. Having entered Germany from Poland. I passed what I thought was a police van, and spotted the driver looking at cars through binoculars. About two minutes later, the same van appears in my mirrors lights and siren blazing and pulls me. States he is just doing a random check, looks quite carefully into the boot, inspects all of my paperwork. All is well, and sends me on my way. The weird part is it was a customs officer, the van clearly had 'Customs' (or German spelling of) on the side. So, it wasn't even police. It is within the Shengen area, which is why to this day I remain baffled at a customs officer stopping cars. I didn't think there were any customs powers on Shengen land borders. I've also been stopped in a blatant trap/sting entering Croatia once, border guard trying his best to hoodwink me into bribing him! I, of course, pretended not to know what he was hinting at, so he sent me on my way. All this while he was stood next to a poster advising bribery is punishable with a prison term. And Poland....yep, easily a country with the most bored police ever. Jesus, I've driven for an hour in remote wilderness and not seen one other car, but will round a corner and see police with their silly little radars ready to point at you, having clearly heard your engine for five minutes before you reached them. This is why so many Polish have huge CB aerials on their cars, to communicate police locations to each other.
