vRS Engine Cover Recall
Interesting ... and for the ones getting the car without a cover ... did you check your VIN for action recall? I do hope I am wrong ... but If you are not getting the cover and your car is not affected, how are you going to claim it? Because for the dealer is going to be easy: car was not expected to have one from factory.

Start and stop disable permanently
Thanks for posting @Andy585 LOL !!! plug & play it's written. Besides the fact that you have to remove the Vehicle Voltage control unit from its location to play with connectors, in the control unit you have 3 connectors: 2 73 pins connectors (T73a + T73b) and 1 46 pins connector (T73c). Either you have full detail on wiring in the installation manual or ... good luck! because without that information I would not be able to install it.

2062172 Travel Assist sporadically unavailable
I am happy that my contact with the dealer during the warranty period was almost zero, but the removal of the engine cover was the summum of inefficiency; car stuck there for, how many? six hours? Gosh! for something that is done, the proper way, less than 30 minutes: check in, intervention (Already planned, they know in advance what they have to do!) and check out.

Ok Ok ... update on the subject. Half surprised, to be honest. First part was as expected ... they checked the VIN and there you are: I am sorry mister, but you are not covered by the action, travel assist is not listed under your VIN ... I know lady, I know, that's the reason why I am requesting a quotation and not asking for a direct appointment to fix the problem free of charge. The second part was ... wow ! Ok, then, before giving you the quotation we have to charge you 190€ for a preliminary diagnostic ... The what? Diagnostic for what? Excuse me, but I have here the logs from A19 gateway and it's clearly stated ... B17B8F2 - Steering Wheel Touch Recognition Control Module Sensor malfunction ... but no way, the say the diagnostic is mandatory no matter what happens after. I do not know you guys, but in my case, every time that I have to deal with this people I have to breath deep and count to ten, because they put my RPMs very high pretty fast. They think, at least people from front desk, that we are fools, that we do not know what we talk about, we do not know what we touch, what we do. So, in abstract, starting point is 190€ to plug the car to ODIS + XXX€ for the cost of the intervention. I am afraid that is going to cost a big bunch of euros if I want to do it the official way so, for the time being, and considering that the tip from @strudlovina is not working in my case, even with the steering wheel heating turned off I have error messages, I set Hc_variante from 2 to 0 in A5 and ... we will see on the future.

Unfortunately that's going to work in my case. The Travel Assist option was installed way after the vehicle fabrication by myself, so I am not getting formal communication from Skoda about the Service Campaign. If I want it to work as expected I guess I have only two options, either I get the new setting for A5 and I replicate it on my car or I ask my dealer to do it for a price.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I do confirm, I am checking right now the TPI from erWin and it's clearly stated, USB-C.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Ok ... just installed without any issue with the USB adapter but it took time, around 35 minutes, consider the use of a battery charger while the update is running.

Tested and working coding Octavia mk4
Tested that one and working ... but in my case the adaptation is called in a different way: there are 2 variables instead one ... Ausgabe MoLaWa_AAW from active to not_active and Unterdrückung der Zündungswarnung from active to not_active.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
Indeed, shouldn't be complicated to remove. Try to remove it with the engine hot, the material should be softer, you pull from the corners and you are done. My concern would be on the back side, close to the downpipe collar ... If it's the same shape, room on that area was tight ... Not touching surfaces but quite close.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
just wondering ... what's the difference between the original one affected by the safety recall and the one from the @TheUltraRunner post? material upgrade? design wise seems to be the same.

2.0 TSI VRS mk4 Octavia - planned delivery for 2024 - Engine question
Hi there, welcome on board! Well, as far I am aware, all EU and UK versions are mounting the DNPA engine since day one. DLBA engines are fitted, at least after all I have seen in the forum so far, in AU versions. DNPA engine is mounting Garret turbo. Cheers.

Who have remapped and/or downpipe replacement RS 2.0tsi?
Well ... now we can remove our GPF, there are full decat downpipes already on the market, but you have to disable oxygen sensors on the ECU ... or play with oxygen sensors spacers.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
Wow ... that's weird. Either they have improved the fixing points and assigned a new reference code for the part or I would bet a finger that's the original part, the one it's intended to be removed ASAP.

Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
Thanks a lot! 🙂 The one from a local tuner … for sure it's not the best one, but for its purpose, way enough.

Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
And today was my day 🙂, results in line with the ones from @DutchVRS, I am getting 324,1 HP at 5372 rpm with 492 Nm at 2850 rpm. I would say I have higher torque values due to the fact that I did DSG remap as well. Similar hardware but I am running on SP98 E5. Tomorrow I will test a bit on open road … but from the 20 km coming back home on highway … indeed there is way more throttle response at the same rpm range.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
That's it, Racingline air intake with pleated cotton filter + turbo inlet. The cover was bought online to a spare parts company in Holland. It came in a very mint condition, more than happy with my purchase. Now that it's known that it works (With its assumptions, btw), you could go to check the availability of the part to any of the VW replacement parts shop if you want to roll with a cover on. Online I see it's available here, more expensive though: https://www.oemvwshop.com/06k103925df-cover-p2291869/ Funny thing is that online that the part is already listed as compatible with Octavia mk4 (NN 2020 -) but the DNPA code is not in the engine spec table … so I assume that the fact of having the oil tap covered means not compatible part. I did a brief check and all engine codes from the table have the oil tap on the exhaust camshaft side.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
And there it is: It fits like a glove. There is waaaay more clearance in the back side with the turbo and downpipe than with the original one. No clashes with the upper part of the engine but the engine tap is hidden any time so, If you want to put oil in, you have to remove the cover ... 4 seconds movement.
