  1. Then they do not have DNPA engines but DKTB … Therefore ECUs I guess they are different, not the SImos 19.6 but the 18 ... Interesting. Answering @Hairy_Joe if you go to Skoda with for VIN they will tell you that the part is not compatible, at least that's what they told me. I do not have full access to erWin, so I am not able to double check.
  2. Well ... pushed a little bit by my faith on the new cover already available without notice .. I went yesterday to the dealer for this and ... Error ! car was delivered without the cover. Had a "funny" argument with the two front desk guys and, long story short, they do not care about the client once the cover is removed; risk is closed for VW group ... therefore, problem solved. Soooo ... I am going to do it my way. I want to keep it in a budget, wanna put cash on the downpipe after ECU remap, so I bought a used 06k103925dd/de/df part from a VW Passat B8 2.0 TSI. After checking @bigreddognz photos (Thanks a lot for the top notch quality!) the part should work, locking points are in the same position. After the exhaustive photo comparison, just two remarks from EU vs NZ versions: - Do you know why the oil fill cap is located on the exhaust camshaft position in NZ version whilst in EU is on the inlet position? - Do you know why the turbo is located in a lower position in NZ version? I am missing the O2 sensor in the downpipe collar ... I guess it is due to different emission regulation ... but the lower position?
  3. Keep people posted, please. In my case, I still need to try @strudlovina solution. If it works properly that way without the heated steering wheel I will keep it until my dealer is in a position to give a quotation for the complete intervention. If it's expensive to fix I will study if it's worth the price or not.
  4. So, as an abstract ... no heated steering wheel but yes travel assist ... hum, I have to give it a try, for us as well the heated steering wheel is not useful at all.
  5. Hi guys, returning to the topic. I am not yet there, I am planning to do this on the third year. All seems to be feasible, I did a check the other day and, besides the tricky position of the filling plug, not a complicated thing to do. In my case, I am stuck on the pump relearn. I have already checked basic setting on control module 32 ... but I do not have the option of pump motor. Somebody sorted it out? Cheers
  6. Thanks @zetzet for your kind recommendation, but I think I will keep the cover as it is until the replacement day arrives ... if it arrives one day, because seem that they are not as focus to provide new covers as they were to remove them.
  7. Thanks for this, I will give it I try once I recode it again when winter is over, but hopefully a fix will be released from Skoda at that time, crossing fingers. With the factory setup I have no is enough for me, ACC is working fine but I do prefer to use the classic CC and the lane assist is permanently deactivated, so the outcome matches with travel assist coded with hcvariant 1. Cheers.
  8. 😮 ... that's very graphic indeed !
  9. I did yesterday a partial scan and the error is not there ... I guess it's because I recoded all back to factory setting, so when I did the scan the tool was not able to find the error. On the other hand, I have static error U112500 for Local data bus - Additional installations detected ... I would say that the bus loop detects the capacitive steering wheel but it's not responsive due to the fact that it's not coded ... or could be another thing, this kind of errors are not well detailed in ODBeleven and ODIS should be used to dig a bit more.
  10. Besides the fact that I am not fan of leaving the top engine side so unprotected, one of my concerns was and is that one, that there is the potential risk of not being called by Skoda for the new part ... so that's the reason why I still have the old part fitted.
  11. Hi ... I am checking offline errors under module 19 and besides a couple of intermittent lost communication data bus error I do not have that one: B17B8F2 - Control module for steering wheel touch recognition Sensor malfunction It's intended to be on the list after it's triggered? do you have to run a scan in order to catch it?
  12. Well well ... Today I deactivated travel assist function, winter is coming here so I started to have erratic "Travel Assist Currently Unavailable" message on the cluster. In my case it was popping out just a couple of times each ride but my lord, what an annoying figure. Let's see if they are able to find a software solution, sooner than later, because there are tons of steering wheels out there suffering from this.
  13. Well, that's what you get here in France, double checked in my contract. Seems that the legal framework is different depending on countries. In Spain, for example, is 3 years with unlimited Km.
  14. Hi @Jamster330, yes it is, mine was build 3rd quarter 2020 and delivered early December 2020. Well, I do not know in UK, but here in France main mechanical parts are warranted up to 2 years. (3 years paint imperfections and 12 years corrosion).
  15. I am already out of warranty, so I think I will do it 1st quarter 2023, I need to check in deep where before. For sure I would go for the Racingline one eyes closed, but considering that, besides Switzerland, their OEM+ Technical Centres in Europe is quite short, I think it's not my best option. The closest one is located 5 hours away from home, in Italy, so I do not want to imagine if I have to drive back and forth several times if I have issues.
  16. Couple of test drives and checks and I am not getting any errors, working smoothly, I do hope that you sorted it out. Cheers
  17. give it a try ... first thing to do when you access CU13 is putting security code and afterwards go to coding.
  18. Just checked right now. Going directly to CU13 and trying to change the long coding parameter ... same error as you get. Back to main menu, I put security access and I repeat the sequence ... and it's working. For me is as @octavianx said, enter security code/save/long coding/code/write and again enter code/save/long coding/code/write. Let's see what's the feedback from the experts. Cheers
  19. Finally, I found a capacitive steering wheel on eBay in a very good condition, so I went for it. Installation is quite easy, today I did the testing and and it's working fine. Just for the sake of clarity, it's true that control modules 13 and A5 are not SFD locked modules but security access code is needed. For both of them, security login code is 20103.
  20. The lack of offers means how new the item is in the market ... let see when we receive the letter from Skoda customer service about its availability 🤞
  21. Impressive !!! Now let's see how long does it takes to be fully deployed. I guess we will be called 1st or 2nd quarter 2023 to pick it up from dealer.
  22. I had a ping pong conversation via email with my local dealer and the answer was quite clear: we do not have it and we do not have a forecast date for the replacement to arrive. I am afraid that they are not putting the same effort with the replacement that the effort they put to launch the recall campaign so it's going to be loooong waiting time.
  23. Yes, my local tuner notified me about its availability the 13th September with similar output numbers (Catalog 320PS/450Nm but 329PS/457Nm on dyno test) for stage 1. They offer as well the same tuned-up.ch numbers on stage II and gearbox upgrade. I think I will book my slot after Xmas, I want to mount at least admission kit before doing the upgrade.
  24. Hi guys, Just wondering if somebody has the same issue in the community. After being parked in the airport parking for a week I have noticed that some white spots appeared on the surface of the chromed trim from the contour of the steering wheel in a very random way. I have tried several non destructive surface cleaning, but non of them worked. I tested with alcohol, plastic polish, chrome polish and no way!. Checking in detail the spots, seems that they are somehow internal to the trim, I mean, there is no irregularity on the surface that could make me think it's was a sort kind of deposit on the surface. It's a 3 spoke steering wheel from a VRS version. Thanks for the feedback!
  25. I had same issue when picked up my car. Dealer fixed it but I disabled it so now it's not acting.
