How To: Heated Windscreen Retrofit
A fully frosted and solid with ice windscreen will be wipable with the wiper blades in about 3-5 minutes roughly. Also stops any condensation build up on the inside. I get in the car, switch the heated screen, seats and mirrors on and by the time ive set the nav and picked a song its almost ready to go. Would love the heated steering wheel next though.

How To: Heated Windscreen Retrofit
Youre very welcome, glad it came in handy. Ther superb is i believe the only model to have a single relay and a back and forward trigger for it.... everything else including the octavia uses 2 relays under the bonnet and a single wire from inside the car, not 2. That being said, for simplicity you could very easily just take a feed from the front fuse box instead of the interior fuse box. ADAS was retrofitted quite a while ago in mine but thanks for the offer.

Headlamp misting
Perfectly normal and perfectly acceptable. Halogen bulbs used to get hot hot and allowed the moisture to evaporate. LED and Xenon bulbs run much cooler so they never get rid of all the condensation fully.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
It’s not bulbs in these units, it’s complete led replacements so slightly different, I’m assuming you got 501 bulbs for led version

Servicing and Service Records in Australia
You need to be set up as a dealer account. If you send me a PHOTO of your VIN number I can pull your service record.

Yup, cheap LED boot lights cause interference in the canbus network. Take them out, loads of people have this issue, not just you.

VSDS vs OBDEleven
I wouldnt be using the 'one time code' functions at all. You have no record of what is actually being done if things go wrong

Cruise Control not working
Honestly reading through this thread... it sounds like youve changed a lot of things without being 100% what they do or what youre doing and you have along the way messed something up. Did it work fine when you got the car? Any fault codes?
-
VSDS vs OBDEleven
Fuel rail pressures, to view - no problems with either. To modify.... well its not as simple as just changing a number and involves a lot more software, hardware and let alone the knowledge required.

Did you spec TSR from the factory?

Cambelt gone
A service book is just a fancy bit of paper to lay out what work has been done in a pretty format. This can be filled out by anyone and is not a true record. Invoices are the only true and accepted record of servicing as it includes who and what has been done exactly. Also, any garage can subscribe to fill out the online service history for VAG group, its not a hidden secret really.
-
Cambelt gone
Its not an issue, but the only 'true' source is the owners manual and vehicle spec, not a dumbed down sales spreadsheet for every car, seen as every engine and model has different routines. Also depending on climate can effect some countries. Im gonna try and find the true values for the question we are all bouncing back and forth on

Replace Columbus MIB3 with Amundsen/Bolero MIB3 on Superb iV
For the literal thousands of pounds this would cost you... its not worth it, for a downgrade???

I think you are reading the chart wrong, the lower bits arent on the same time scales as above, they could be on one or the other. DSG oil is definetely not 4 years, only a time marker on it.

Cambelt gone
Honestly every other comment here about what you should do is fairly null and void without this information possible failures could be - oil contamination - fuel contamination - coolant contamination - physical damage to something - something hitting the belt or pushing cover - pulley bolts being left loose or loosened through something or someone - pulley having dust or dirt ingress and bearing failure - seizing pulley or water pump - incorrect coolant causing the above - fuel pump seizing - camshaft seizing and ripping teeth off - rodents - vacuum pump binding these are only a few possible causes so unless exact specifics of why it failed are found, there is no chance of going anywhere with it
-
Cambelt gone
Cam belt failure is very very non discript. what failed, was it the belt -if so, how was it a pulley - if so, how need to know all of this before blame can be placed anywhere at all

brake parts
They recognise the rear discs and pads are an issue and there is actually a tsb relating to them. by eicher as an example I was meaning cheap parts made and then boxed up in multiple brands of boxes. from what I believe or was told a company called ASIMCO Meilian Braking Systems Langfang Co. Ltd was acquired by Brembo. On the basis that they produce brembo parts, and in exchange ASIMCO can produce brake parts and brand them as Brembo. - whether this is true or not I can’t be 100% I recommended my choices based on being in the trade and what I’ll happily fit to my vehicle. I understand the issues with counterfeit parts but I personally had new ebc pads from ebc that the backing separated from. Never would I use them again.

brake parts
Skoda don’t make brake pads, they will get them from someone like ATE, Bosch, Brembo, TRW I would say brembo are the worst, why? Because they’re not true brembo, aftermarket brembo pads and discs are a Chinese company using the Brembo branding, much like Eicher. had numerous customer cars that have had brembo parts and are squeaking away very very quickly personally I would go pagid or oem. also take a look online at EBC glue failures, people have literally had their pads fall out the caliper because of it

PR code for my Superb, to get correct brake discs and pads?
It’s not a case of what you want, they’re not interchangeable, you’d need to replacing carriers also. you can only replace like for like without changing other parts

PR code for my Superb, to get correct brake discs and pads?
I believe the rears only have 2 variants 272/280 - vented rears everything else - solid rears I may be wrong so wait for someone else to clarify.

Electrical gremlins.
For the price of the pipe, i would be changing it also, do a pipe and injector - pipe was around £40 That will be the cause of your adblue fault. Others have complained of the random number thing before and im not sure the solution

That couldn’t be a full tank at today’s prices. I put £95 of standard petrol in mine. So expensive
