  1. Charming. To quote your original post: Really? Well lets have another go at answering your question. If you didn't receive a warranty booklet with your car, you can find it online: https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/46df90c7-03bd-4018-be8d-a502e090781c ...I would have thought there would have mentioned it when detailing the car whilst within the 3 year warranty they haven’t. And how do you know the issue was present when the car was at the dealership? You're making an assumption.
  2. Talk about looking thru rose tinted specs ! I asked for evidence and Breezy_Pete kindly posted the following: Fear based pitch... Yes whatever. Before we all get carried away with ourselves feeling snug and cosy. why not be an awkward burger like me and start asking questions? 1: The idea that all dealers are bad and bettered by indi specialists is just ludicrous. With hardly any effort, a google search of UK specialists brings up similar results to: https://audivwsc.co.uk/vw-audi-cambelt-change/ Nearly all the VAG specialists who advertise online quote cambelt change every 4/5 year or 60/80k miles. So please don't kid ourselves that indi's are more clued up, or aren't ripping you off or whatever other accusation we may apply. Their information mirrored that of franchised dealers. 2: People were falling over themselves talking about owners should adhere to the workshop manual rather than Skoda UK advice. Maths and English aren't exactly my forte, but where on those workshop manuals people published ( see above ) does it mention 15year or 180,000 miles? 3: People were falling over themselves talking about owners should adhere to the rest of the world intervals and to ignore Skoda UK advice. Where is the reference in any other country their interval is 15yr or 180,000 miles? Would you adam and eve it, one second people are saying listen to workshop manuals and the rest of the world, now they're saying listen to Skoda UK and ignore the workshop manual and the rest of the world. πŸ€ͺ It falls in line with my theory that people only see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe. VAG have a long history of causing confusion and not for a second do I see that disapearing given the latest info posted by forum members. It's come full circle, now there will be folk in OZ complaining they have to change their cambelts every 210,000km ( 130k miles ) whereas it's every 180k miles in the UK.
  3. I'm selling my Karoq and only last night when preparing all the documentation, came across a warranty receipt that I'd forgot clean about - fuel flap actuator replaced. Never happened on any other VW / Skoda I've owned but remember having real difficulty opening the fuel flap. If memory serves me right I think I had to push the dead centre of the flap for it to release when stuck. Sounds like the Enyaqs may suffer from the same issue.
  4. Just waiting on CamBeltGate to get underway where all those VW Group owners who done the right thing and followed manufacturers recommendation paying out hundreds of pounds only to now find out it wasn't necessary.
  5. Look at this from logical perspective. For the past 3yr, nobody, including yourself, has noticed any issue with the alloy. You then have the car cleaned and the cleaner says the lacquer is coming off. One reasonable possibility is it was the cleaner who damaged your alloy wheel. 6mths after purchase, the onus falls on the customer to prove faulty manufacture so the question you should be asking yourself is how are you going to do that when the evidence suggests otherwise? If you're saying the alloy was faulty at manufacture, then you're going to have to explain why it's taken almost 3yr for the damage to appear. You can trying making a warranty claim but I think you'd be wasting your time. ( I'd be happy for you if I was wrong ). For around Β£60-Β£70 you can have that alloy refurbished back to 'as new' condition. That's what I'd do.
  6. Now sounding like the 1st VWFS agent thought you wanted to 'cancel' the PCP agreement rather than 'settle' it. Glad you got it sorted in the end. Bet you use the online system to obtain settlements from now on
  7. Probably. 73 years is pretty old for a cambelt.
  8. No. The Β£4000 above settlement figure makes no sense if it's PCP. You can request a settlement figure via your online account. See if that agrees with what you were told over the phone.
  9. No matter how careful we all think we are, complacency happens to us all and it's normally only when things go wrong we find out about it. Did you find out what finance deal you actually signed up to?
  10. Bianconero - just thought of something. How did you accept the car / finance package? Buying seems to have changed since Covid, my last two purchases I haven't physically signed anything as it's all done thru electronics i.e. all we're doing is electronically signing a box on the salespersons desk or replying to an email. When ordering this car, the salesman showed me the order on is 24" desktop screen ( I'm at the other side of the desk ), and we went thru a series of me replying to emails which accepted the order. It was only that night when the confirmation came thru I found I'd additionally ordered alloy wheel protection + paint protection, none of which he'd mentioned at the time. I cancelled both next day but it just goes to show that you no longer have the time to look thru an a4 piece of paper in front of you which you then add your paw-print to with a biro. Technology eh? I'm glad they've changed it for the better as the old system could be seen as legalised loan sharks.
  11. My only experience of HP was 30 years ago which put me off for life. I know the rules have since changed but nver taken much of an interest in the subject. It was my understanding that you could only settle an HP early once 50% of the loan was paid off ( I could be wrong tho ) so assuming the OP wishes to settle after only a few months, then the full amount ( or near full amount like they wanted to charge me 30 years ago ) would account for his Β£4000 interest. PCP is a different kettle of fish - I'm assuming VWFS haven't made that mistake. I'm going thru the early settlement process right now albeit not with VWFS. As per usual lots of folk talking about you can no longer settle early and new rules being introduced to stop people paying off their PCP, blah blah blah. The usual armchair experts - just rumours and assumptions started by people who've never tried to settle a PCP early themselves. My settlement went thru after just 2weeks with no issue whatsoever, The transaction went thru exactly as the OP would have expected his to go thru.
  12. I'm familiar with purchasing cars using PCP and settling early but that's with new cars rather than used. The offer may be different but the principal should be exaclty the same. Are you're saying the finance company are charging you interest for the full term of the loan? It's when you mention that the finance company have suggested you speak to your dealer that set's the alarm bells off in my head because your dealer has absolutely nothing to do with the agreement between you and the finance company so why are they suggesting that? If I were a gambling man, I'd say you've bought the car using HP rather than PCP. ( Of course it may be the finance company who've got their knickers in a twist ) With VWFS you don't actually need to call them for a settlement anymore, you can log in to the system and request it yourself. If I were you I'd log in to their system and find out exactly what you've purchased. https://customer.vwfs.co.uk/existing-customers.html Contacting your dealer sounds a very good idea !
  13. When you say better idea of distance - doesn't your car have rear sensors? I agree, it's more than likely an Ali Express special, but then the cost of the system is negligable when factoring labour. But £600 !!! 😲 I'm always sceptical about what sales folk say but if that's true then they were done. Pretty std practice for dealers to contract the job to a 3rd party. Depends where you live but they could have a High line fitted onsite for that price. See vagtec. ( there are of course other companies who'll provide a similar service ).
  14. To be honest I'm not sure what the factory option is. Our Karoq came with a low-line from the factory but I bought a high-line for the Kodiaq and had it fitted afterwards. I'm guessing that If you just asked for a reverse camera to be fitted that that's what the dealer has done. Don't quote me on this but my understanding is high-line comes with dynamic lines ( i.e. they move with the steering wheel ) whilst the low line has fixed lines. Suppose it depends on the 3rd party if they come with guidance lines or not. Unless you tow a caravan where you can alter the view for hooking up, the dynamic / fixed lines are a waste of time as far as I'm concerned - I find them more distracting than anything. All I wanted was a picture like you've posted above.
  15. Are both speakers crackling?
  16. There are three types of reverse camera they could have added - 3rd party solution, Skoda low-line, Skoda Hi-line. It's only the Hi-line that comes with the washer so your dealer has either fitted the low-line or a 3rd party setup.
  17. Heavens knows how they work it but SE Drive spec is normally excluded from sale or special offers.
  18. Wonder if those's who're about to collect their cars this month on PCP will be eligible for the 'Summer Sale' offer? They've increased the PCP finance contibution to Β£2500 until end of the month. In typical VW Group fashion, they don't make it easy to view all the T&C so can't tell if this applies to new orders or anyone taking out a PCP agreement until 31/7/23.
  19. Online manuals for all Skoda cars can be found on their website near the bottom of the 'Owners' section. Just chose whichever model / year / market is appropriate. https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/your-skoda
  20. From the current Fabia online owners manual: Which suggests it is possible.
  21. Hi. As you can see from the above image, the Comfort SE has heated and electically adjustable door mirrors but there's no fold button. They'd have to be folded manually on that trim level. AA maps uses your own phone data although it's pretty minimal. You can specify an optional extra on the car which allows for wireless connection of a phone to the headunit but to be honest that type of connection can be problematic at times so if you're not tech savvy and hardly use AA then it's much easier sticking with the wired connection which is standard. The Comfort SE has an 6.5" screen infotainmentI system called Swing which I've never seen in operation. What happens with larger screen systems is you can set the screen saver as a large clockface. So if the unit is switched off whilst driving, the clock would be displayed. If the unit is on, you can set the screen saver to activate 10secs after pressing any button. I'm guessing the Comfort SE's Swing unit will operate in the way but you'd have to check with someone else / dealer.
  22. It matters not a jot who wrote the maintenance PDF, all I'm saying is 'All models' is a darn site easier to understand than "Up to MY20 and after MY21" which implies there's something inbetween that doesn't adhere to those specs. It's only an innocent comment.
  23. "Up to MY21 and after MY21". Is that another way of saying all of them ?
  24. Not trying to be funny but having covered just 13500 miles in 5years, your car is probably a higher risk of having issues than a car that's had average use. Stands to reason - moving components aren't being regularly lubricated.
  25. The All-in-1 service allows for one pollen filter change and one extended scope during the duration of the package. According to the service schedule, the pollen filter would be changed year 2 and 4 so that's bang on and explains why your pollen filter was changed this service. Extended scope? But that's only scheduled to be done in years 3 and 5 so that's what was confusing me as to why it was carried out at this service. Both items are included in the All-in-1 program, but are done at different services / years. Then when you said that the brake fluid was also included makes me wonder. Are you 100% sure it's Skoda's All-in-1 service program that's being carried out on your car or could it be a service schedule unique to the particular dealer you purchased the car from? i.e. you can only have the services completed by that dealer? Whatever you have, it sounds all right. πŸ‘ Take lots of negative feedback from dealers with a pinch of salt. Typically people come to forums to complain, few people ever come to offer praise. That explains the heavy bias against dealers. As far as I can tell, none of them are short of business so they must be doing something right.
