Bits found in boot
When my car was in for service, last week, I had a look at the latest Sportline. That had those brackets fitted but, sad to see they have dropped the “racing/rally” style seats for ordinary ones.

Disel in Petrol car!!!
Girlfriend put petrol in her diesel, but realised after she paid - lucky. Staff pushed her car out of the way, and she called her breakdown firm, who sent out someone to drain tank. £250 seems standard charge, to match cover for accidental misfuelling.

Clock spring replacement costs
Glad my hippy days are over, in that case! Only referring to hair length, as now not much to fall out! Still a hippy at heart.✌️

Putting the Key Fob 'to sleep'
All I have ever seen, is that the fob will go to sleep, if not moving after a few minutes. Not much use, if wandering around, with key fob in pocket, but should be safe at home, in drawer or whatever. The Subaru system is much better, as fitted to my much missed XV.

Software Update - under warranty part of recall
Booked in for service, which will include the software update. Also, will change fob/fobs battery/batteries. One flags up warning in dash, but the spare might as well have a new battery, as well. Still can’t get the fob to open up, so this Luddite will let the experts do it!😀

Opinion on potential Karoq purchase (AutoTrader Link contained)
My insurance requires me to produce two keys, if car is stolen. This relates to kessy cyber theft, rather than breaking into house and finding key fob, of course.

Loud warning bell
Takes me back to the 80s, and my Mazda 626, which had a multitude of sounds, for different warnings, rather than the Karoq’s single bongs for everything - unless I haven’t triggered them all, yet!!

Software Update - under warranty part of recall
To see if your car needs the update, just try leaving your key in the car. Make sure You have the spare handy, just in case. How do I know this……..!🙄

Loud warning bell
Parked car and went shopping, locking car with key fob and sensor (area renowned for car theft). Came back, opened driver’s door and loud bell sound. No idea what it was, but stopped when door shut. Got home, opened door and off it went again. Then saw message on dash “turn off lights” - somehow, the light switch had been moved to second position. Why the switch is at knee knocking level, I do not know.

Driver Car Seat Cushion.
I also use the wedge shaped cushion, on recommendation of my chiropractor.

Nearly 2 years of ownership.
At last service, I was told wipers had it, but did not fit new Škoda ones. Instead, said I would be better off going to Halfords!😂

New brochure/pricelist eff 3.1.25
My 2018 Octavia used to turn on the single low pressure light, but also put up a message, identifying which tyre was losing pressure. Not had a tyre lose pressure on the Karoq, but expect it might be the same.

Nearly 2 years of ownership.
My petrol Sportline is also 2 years old, being an early 23 plate. Due to various factors, I have only done 5000 odd miles (have a van), and in that time I have had nothing go wrong. Mine was a pre-reg, 3months old but only 30 miles on clock, and I have the full remaining of three years warranty. Nothing fallen off, nothing broke, no rattles except for one behind dash, that started after hitting a huge pothole. Lasted a week until I hit another! Oh yes, noisy wipers - must get some Bosch ones.

Battery ‘State of Charge’.
My dealer gave me the story, with my Octavia, but did not try to sell me a charger. Went to my company’s regular auto electrician and battery supplier, they tested battery and confirmed it was not happy! They then sold me a battery charger/conditioner, and that is the important issue. You need to recondition the battery, not just a trickle charge, like in the old days. Connected the charger/conditioner, selected type of battery (important!), and off it went. Next morning, all green lights and job done. I only do about 3000 miles a year, in my cars, and mainly local trips, so makes sense. Never a problem with my van, as that does zillions of miles a year!

Reset Oil Change Service
Both my previous Octavia, and current Karoq, came with variable service setting. Called in for first service when year old, and service reminder reset to annual, with no difficulty. Bit of a con, as two services on variable would have covered the 3 year deal, but ended up with three services, paying for last on. Pre paid in Octavia, but free with Karoq HP deal.

reversing camera
Mine stays on until I have gone the few yards it takes to self lock the doors. My 2018 Octavia was the same.

Spilt Milk
This happened to a car I had, just a week before handing it over as p/x for a new car. Stunk to high heaven, and ended up taking everything out, and using a professional cleaner/detailer to deal with it. They have access to far better cleaning products, than Joe Public, and can dry out the carpets and seats in no time. No come back from the buying dealer, so imagine it was sorted, and go a reasonable price. Was in 2015, so price would vary, but then it was done for £100.

Sportline Edition
That dash top cubby was very useful, as it was just the right size for a disabled person’s blue badge folder. And in easy reach for both driver or passenger, to take out and place on dash when parking.

Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
I don’t race about on public roads, and only used both pedals at same time on the track car - that is how the instructors said to do it. They were not DSG gearboxes. In normal use, I brake with left foot, reducing throttle pedal with right foot, so ready to move on again.

What shall I do with a sunken belt buckle?
Could you click another belt into the receiver, and then get someone to pull sideways, and make more room to probe in the gap?
-
Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
I have driven many autos and manuals, and always used left foot braking in autos. Did a track day, many years ago, in a car with sequential racing gears, which did not use clutch, and trained to use left foot for braking, whilst keeping power on with right foot. Took some getting used to, but always do it now.
-
Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
Yes, I imagine it might be a bit different, with ACC, but only ever had basic CC. I have always used left foot braking, with automatics of any kind, resting my left foot on the provided “footrest”, but never know where to put my right foot, with cruise on. Suppose one relies on the sensors to slow down or brake, with ACC, etc.
-
Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
Not on mine. Think you need the fancy “does it all” cruise, but mine is just basic cruise. The only limiter is the bleep warning, that I can set to whatever the local speed limit is. Early 2023 Sportline 1.5 DSG.
-
Cruise or Limiter - what do you prefer?
That’s OK if light traffic, but I always seem to pick busy times, with much stop go traffic, then speed up, slow down, etc. Cruise seems, to me, more for clearer roads. Had cruise in last six cars, and only used on one, for about a month. Still, each to their own.

Mysterious parts
I found these, stuffed into a side pocket in the boot, and had no idea what they were. Also, I did not know I had a reversible mat! The things you learn from the forum - you could write a better handbook than Skoda!😂
