What is this gauge for
Must say, I did wonder if I had bought a hybrid by mistake.😂

What is this gauge for
Thanks. Another thing to check, and take my eyes off the road - not! 🙄

What is this gauge for
Whilst idly switching between dash displays (long wait at level crossing), I wondered what the kW gauge is for. A bar moves across as revs increase.

Moving from 2015 fabìa 1.2 petrol to a August 2022 Karoq 1.5 petrol with dsg automatic
One time I switch auto hold off, is when slow manouvering, like parking in my garage or in car park slots. My garage has a downward sloping curved drive, with full width drain and then a slight kerb to overcome, so I enter it at an angle. Driving and stopping with auto hold on, means having to give a bit more revs than I really want, to overcome auto hold. It enables me to drive in, just using dabs on footbrake to control speed.

Heated Front Screen
I never used the heated screen on my Octavia, so not too bothered that the Karoq did not have it. Plus point was the screen seemed better to see through, without all the “wire netting” in the screen.

All in One Policy vs Actual Practice at the garage?
I always remember a stay in hospital, in a single bed side ward, when clipboard carrier came in and asked “Has the cleaner been in here today?”. I said she had, so box was ticked and off and away. Unfortunately, she didn’t ask if the room had been cleaned, as cleaner only changed the bags in the waste bin. I treat dealer service tick boxes with a “so what” attitude, as they tell you nothing.

July 2019 Karoq 1.5 SEL DSG - DSG very occasional whirring/whine in 1st
Don’t worry about being out of warranty, as you have reported the problem within the warranty period, so they have to fix it.

Karoq Order
I didn’t go the PCP route, but good old HP over two years. This got me the wonderful bonus of two FREE services, but I expect the first will be due 12 months after registration, rather than from date of my purchase, which happened with my Octavia. My trade in was valued way over WBAC offer, so well pleased.

Karoq Order
These cars (there were six when I selected the one I bought), were all around 33 miles, and registered to the dealer. I usually only buy pre reg by dealer cars, and never lost money on trade in. Different if car been used as demo or staff runabout, but these only have factory/delivery mileage. Not aware of any new Karoq being introduced, unlike new Kodiaq, but that is often when these deals appear.

Karoq Order
Rainworth Skoda are advertising pre reg nominal mileage Sportlines for under £30k. Mine , bought in August, was registered in April, with 33 miles on clock, and I paid £34950!!!! Should have waited a few months, but at least didn’t have to wait half a year for it.

Wireless Android Auto issue
My partner bought a new Kia Ceed, and her phone refused to be stable with AA. Everyone else’s phones paired immediately, so back to the dealer for advice. Tried his phone - no problem, tried hers - failed. He then looked at her phone and declared that her phone was too old (which it was), and may need a new one. New one obtained, and all good after. May not answer everyone’s problems, but sorted hers.

Wheel spin
Which is exactly why I knew there was something wrong with the car, especially when it started to get worse, spinning up in second gear. The software upgrade cured it all, without me changing my driving style at all, so everything you have written about driving styles is irrelevant to the situation as was. The spinning up on the Karoq is, thankfully, nothing like the Octavia did, so will keep going, with the Goodyear F1 tyres as supplied, and when they wear out, I will consider all weather tyres.

MP3 music skips/jumps
Mine jumps to the start of one particular album, when I switch on. All the time I am driving, and picked an album, all works well, smoothly starting the next album in order. Turn off, come back, and it has jumped to the start of that particular album. First world problem, I know, but damned annoying.

Aerodynamic
I like the inserts, as they confuse the heck out of my neighbours. “Where are the wheel nuts?”, they say. I tell them it is all the rage to fit wheels that pop off by pressing a button in the cab!

Wheel spin
Don’t know how old you are, but I am 73, and been driving high powered cars from the off. It is only my slowing down reactions and exorbitant insurance costs, that have changed my vehicle specifications to “safe”. I never had a PROBLEM with spinning tyres, until the Octavia - which was sorted with the update. Absolutely nothing to do with my using heavy boot on my right foot, but all about the on board computer. If there had not been a fault, there would have been no update to input.

Wheel spin
Mine was a December 2018 dealer pre reg, so don’t know of any history of the month before I bought it. Dealer never updated anything, during the 2 years I went for prepaid services, but different dealer sorted in no time, at third service. Update also sorted a notchy first gear on pull away - don’t know if that had any effect on wheelspin, but all good after that.

Wheel spin
I will remind those who may not have read the whole posting, that my Octavia had to have a new computer upgrade for the gearbox, after two years of ignoring problem by supplying dealer. Different dealer had technician test drive and came back agreeing far too much wheel spin. Checked updates and found one for dealing with excessive wheel spin. Afterwards, I never experienced wheelspin again. That is why I asked about it, as my new Karoq seemed to be demonstrating a similar problem. Reported in Octavia forum, including the upgrade number, and others have benefited from it. Nothing to do with tyres.

Wheel spin
As car is only 750 miles old, I don’t particularly want to buy more tyres. Could ask the question of why cars are sold with summer tyres instead of cross climate (not fit for purpose of winter use?). Must say, my old Subaru XV was a much nicer drive, albeit a 4x4, but a bag full of trouble.

Wheel spin
Thanks folks. I do find it less manic if I turn off the hold feature, and use the foot brake to hold the car, so not having to overcome the hold. Just annoy anyone behind, with the very bright brake lights!

Wheel spin
When I had my Octavia (68reg 1.5 tsi DSG), I used to have horrendous wheelspin, which wore out the front tyres in no time. Supplying dealer could find nothing wrong, and blamed my driving style. Once prepaid services finished, I took to another dealer for 3rd service, and they agreed not right, found an update and installed it / no more wheel spin. Now my Karoq is doing it (admittedly mainly, but not exclusively,in the wet). Looks like a trip to dealer☹️

Map not showing
Do you have a black arrow, at bottom right of screen? If so, tap it and the map will appear. I find this map a darn sight more complicated than my older Octavia map, but pretty easy once worked it out.

Karoq Wing Mirror - Škoda Official Capacity?
Many of my early cars had a “yard broom” finish of the paintwork!

Not as responsive as Octavia
I had two years of drastic wheel spin, on my Octavia. Supplying dealer did two services, and said “nature of the car”! Third service to different dealer, and problem diagnosed as needing update, which was done. Another two and a half years of bliss, thanks to second dealer (from whom I bought my Karoq).

Virtual Cockpit 2023
Joys of buying pre reg or ex demos, you never know what has been fitted, or added to the spec. My previous Octavia also had upgrades, some of which I did not know about until trading it in for the Karoq! Will be downloading the online manual, as don’t know how half the stuff works.

Virtual Cockpit 2023
Mine is a pre reg in April car, Sportline spec. Will have look tomorrow, and list the various screens I have.
