That’s OK if light traffic, but I always seem to pick busy times, with much stop go traffic, then speed up, slow down, etc. Cruise seems, to me, more for clearer roads. Had cruise in last six cars, and only used on one, for about a month. Still, each to their own.

I found these, stuffed into a side pocket in the boot, and had no idea what they were. Also, I did not know I had a reversible mat! The things you learn from the forum - you could write a better handbook than Skoda!😂

I never use cruise, and have only used the limiter on other cars, (my current Karoq does not have it, only the speed warning setting), on motorways or dual carriageways, set to the posted limit. This is ideal, for me, in 50 limits in roadworks, etc. Perhaps, as I have been driving for 56 years, I have done without for so long, I don’t see the need for cruise control.

I get the occasional noise from the rear brakes, usually reversing out of my garage/driveway, so cold (rusty) brakes. 2023 1.5 Sportline DSG, so yes, not sorted by Skoda yet. At last service, dealer said wipers were not cleaning properly, but not replaced as Skoda ones were “not very good” - or words to that effect!. Will probably change car at two years old, when HP paid off and second free service (part of HP deal) is done, so not bothered getting brakes looked at.

I have had a dodgy back for years, and used to be in agony in older cars, with only fore/aft adjustment. My chiropractor use to come out to my car, and set me up with various wedge shaped hard foam slabs, to wedge me in, pain free. I still occasionally use one, when in friends’ cars, but, as said by others, my Sportline gives me no trouble at all.

P-J has got the right fob, and the video he referenced has shown me how to do it - hopefully I will be more successful than so far.

That’s the one in my manual. Seems to mean push key blade in, then take out and slide cover off. That’s the bit that won’t move, even with my grippy glove. Might as well take to dealer, although warnings about their dodgy batteries might send me elsewhere.

Okay, the low battery warning came up, so need a new fob battery. No problem, as second key unused, and working. Tried, by method in handbook, to open fob and check battery size, and can’t open it. Very slippery plastic, and can’t get it to move. Any tips for an old codger with arthritic fingers?

My Octavia was supplied with flexible service set up, so surprised when both dealer and Skoda kept phoning me to get service done at 12 months. When done, the service reminder was changed to fixed. Told it was because I had bought two services. I asked if I hadn’t bought them, if it would have been OK to keep to flexible services, the dealer said it would. This would probably be still only two services in three years, rather than three at yearly setting. My Karoq was set to yearly services, but these were free with my HP finance.

A long long time ago, when BMC brought out the original Mini/Austin 7, there were a number of accidents, where the cars would swerve to the right, when rapid acceleration was applied. Many hours spent trying to find the fault, but turned out it was the following: first front wheel drive car, for most drivers, with superior grip; for the time, faster acceleration than drivers used to; mainly only occurred when overtaking, especially slow or stationary vehicles (bus at bus stop was often cited). Net result that nothing wrong with the car, drivers just needed lighter right foot! Not saying this applies to OP, but he does mention accelerating, rather than just pulling away. I have a heavy foot, but not noticed any pull, either direction.

When I had a Kia Venga (nicknamed Arsen!), the only way to close mirrors was to press a button on inside of door, before opening. This meant you couldn’t check for traffic behind, so I usually left them open.

After clouting some potholes, my dash was louder than the rest of the car put together. This lasted about a week, until I hit another pothole - silence ever since. There is so much wiring and other oddments behind the dash, I am surprised they don’t all rattle full time!

For some reason, my headlights came on, on one of the brightest days for some time, about 1pm. Cleaned windscreen / sorted.

I must say, however, I rarely use the radio, just blast the locals with 70s prog /rock from my pen drive! Yes, I am that old😂

I have the same problem on the Karoq (had it in the Octavia as well), but it is only when I get near my local hospital. Lots of antennas on their roof, for all emergency services. However, BBC stations work perfectly! I wonder if some of the smaller stations need to beef up their transmission strength, although precluded from drowning out the competition.

I have the Pro version, and easy to fit and remove. I put it on with lock to bottom right of the steering wheel. Mind you, I bought it before finding the KESSY override trick, so it doesn’t get a lot of use.

To be honest, I leave mine in “normal” mode, anyway. Fuel saving in Eco is hardly worth bothering with, unless on a long journey. Sport gives a sharper steering feel, but seems, with my driving, to lead to oversteer on roundabouts and sharp bends.

My pre-reg came with ceramic coating (cost of which was added on my invoice). Since my little scratch (deffo cat that got shut in garage), I have to get a “proper” repair to maintain the coating warranty. A few weeks down the line, still not done as cannot find anyone to do it (too small a job/cost of recoating panel). Oh for the days of ordinary paint and Duplicolor!

Always catching the light switch with my knee, and the “fag packet” drop down cubby, which randomly opens itself! Why the switch has to be hidden away, where I cannot see instantly if lights are on or not, with no tell tale on the dash.

Sorry, it is not the paint/bodywork warranty, as only covers rust from inside out. On mine, it is the ceramic coating that has a warranty, so has to be correctly done.

Noticed a dark line on paint and, thinking just dirt, went to wash it off. Then found is was a scratch, about 3inches long and running from back to front of rear n/s wing, getting deeper towards the front. Does not look like a vandal scratch, more like a thorn or sharp stick, as I do sometimes park close to a Holly hedge. Really annoying, as will need proper repair for paint warranty, I suspect.

My Octavia regularly switched views, showing plate or not showing plate. Never got round to finding out why, but did have to frequently clean lens. Has only done it twice on the Karoq, which rarely needs the lens cleaning. I do find the left green kerb guide is about 2inches out, as always that far from kerb, when green guide is well on the kerb.

My Citroen C4 diesel had to be left for 6 months, after my licence was suspended (diagnosed with Sleep Apnea). Car was only a few months old, but started immediately (or near enough), having been left parked up for those 6 months. Probably the fact it was a nearly new car, that the battery could cope.

This is mine. The short cable is “handed”, so had to go to the left, but short enough not to impede anything.
