I know I should have expected this but it’s still disappointing when it happens…

And it begins: status changed to delayed delivery, no further info. Car supposedly built, waiting parts, waiting time unknown. Joss1733 scenario has begun…. 🤬

My week 20 has arrived, no update from the dealer so far.

The initial estimated delivery date was way too optimistic imho.

I received no info from dealer without me chasing them, they only informed me about the fire in the factory (which was presented to me as the Skoda Octavia factory burnt down and not the subcontractor’s). The initial waiting time was 5-7 months when I placed the order in Aug 21, it’s now 9 months and counting with my car supposedly made since about a month ago but missing parts.

Which I guess is small anyway… I think the number of ppl waiting here in SI is much bigger than the few of us who are already active on this forum. Next week is week 20, supposedly my delivery date, we’ll see what happens. With all of you having no info I am quite surprised that I actually have some (true or not, time will tell).

Yep, that will be the day 😁 on a side note: how do you manage without calling them and asking for info? I know I wouldn’t be able to keep myself from calling or emailing them.

Customer service blows here. They know they will get a better price and don’t care if we cancel. I hope it backfires on them somehow. What also worries me is the quality of materials being built in - because of shortages everywhere they use parts that would otherwise go to scrap (heard this from a vag grp supplier).

No one is quiet here, we managed to write 111 pages 😉 But the situation is frustrating and it affects is and we vent out the tension here I guess, where we are among those who are experiencing the same.

Guys, let’s not argue, it’s bad enough we get all sorts of bad news from Skoda, let’s keep a friendly atmosphere and support (this has really turned out to be a sort of support group).

Yes, I think there are quite many of us and if we stand together, we might actually achieve something, get some info at least. One by one they seem to brush us off (like at service where they claim that no mk4 has those issues while you know at least 4 ppl who have the same problem) easily.

We should all assemble in a large group and go directly to factory and start protests 🙊 or go in a larger group to dealers and demand answers. Because this is really going nowhere, or even from bad to worse.

Your coworker just got lucky. Mine is also a wagon and been waiting for 9 months and counting.

Thank you for such detailed info. You must be furious as you ordered in March 21 yet still nothing - or even worse, car is made and parked in the open. I also fear that the same scenario will happen to me as the next week will pass by and will receive nothing but pushbacks. I also heard the story from the dealer that Skoda makes the effort to finish the already built cars asap, but that’s just another story and speculation imo. They don’t know what else to say as Skoda also doesn’t provide much info… Please keep us posted if you receive some new answers (O bet Skoda’s will be just another generic one, if you receive it at all).

Mine has VIN since about a month ago, but not finished yet.

I hope that mine doesn’t disappear like that 🤔

I guess it’s still possible in theory, but reading other ppl’s posts in this thread I wouldn’t bet my money on it 😉
