  1. Hi All. Another vote of confidence from me. One year on - I had very few issues with my MK4 vRS in Graphite Grey (Really nice colour by the way) but couldn't resist the upgrade to the facelift 4.5. Went for Racing Blue but still miss the Grey sometimes.Just had 1st Service and Car Tax £620 (ouch!).To be honest I thought long and hard about the 40K Tax but I took the view I'm getting a good deal and spending a lot of money (for me anyway) just get the car you want with the options and although it annoys, I factored it in the overall cost. Also I plan on keeping the car and only do low mileage. I agree with most of the reviews I read at the time so would say - looks good (hatch or estate),good spec, the extra Bhp and mapping is perfect lots of pull and a quick car, practical and fun when you want. It's not as agile as a golf or others but still puts a smile on my face,a little noisy on motorways and poor surface but not excessivily. Try get a test drive with/without DCC I had/have it on both Octavias, just my choice of course.
  2. I guess that is 1 year from the registration date and the service indicator wasn't reset to reflect the date you actually purchased it ( and the additional service performed before you bought)
  3. Took parents home after Boxing day and thought I'd show off and activate the rear heated seats (first time using them) on my VRS MK4.5 (UK). Set both seats to the 2nd heat level without issue. Drove back home, decided to check if seats needed turning off but the controls wouldn't respond. Tried in settings to turn on/off no good.Left car and checked next day , all working again. Definitely one to keep an eye on if you have the winter pack and have people in the back.
  4. Bit of knack.Don't stand to close (keys in pocket) try a few different types of kicks slow to fast hopefully it'll work for you. i find it either works first time or takes a few attempts
  5. Uk owner here, yes I try to run on E5 majority of time.I am a low mileage driver so extra cost doesn't really bother me.I have found on the MK4 and MK4 F/L I get slightly more miles/Gallon and a noticeable performance improvement. Also I believe i read about there being an issue with internal condensation with E10 fuel which sits for a time, I might only fill up once a month sometimes. I use Tesco or Esso E5 usually. I have fitted Front and Rear mudflaps to both my previous MK4 and my new MK4f/l. They look ok and cut down the mess down the sides. There is a guide on here somewhere on how to fit. here are a couple of links the process is very similar.
  6. These are the Nut Covers I fitted - includes the locking wheel nut cover. Black matt for wheels with locking wheel bolts (000 071 215N 01C) .
  7. Just collected (Saturday) mine came with Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport as well (UK model). Others have reported Bridgestone Potenza
  8. @JGee Thanks for the info, not mentioned in the manual that i could see and a change from my earlier MK4 as well. Also noticed the Front Tyre (19in) recommended pressure (normal load) is now 2.7bar (39psi) up from 2.5bar (36psi) previously. Only done 40 miles but definitely impressed with the updated model
  9. Finally, after a 6 month wait, yesterday the big day arrived. I collected my new Race Blue Hatchback in the sunshine. I've taken off the Aero Covers as I prefer the look without. Quick question how do i get the Oil Dip Stick out to check the oil level.I don't want to break it but it seems held on by some clips and won't release.
  10. Hi not very good at posting so image of my spare space saver and tool kit as originally supplied (2022 MK4 Hatchback) Hope that helps
  11. Agree with all the comments, accepting everyone drives differently and has differing expectation etc. Personally i can recommend Goodyear vector 4 season gen 3 or Cross Climate 2 having used both. Currently swap out for the vectors and was most impressed in a motorway emergency in heavy rain, managing to control car and avoid couple of other cars who collided and spun. i have considering having the all seasons on all year but I have the luxury of a spare set of wheels and don't mind changing them. You can't really compare to 4wd plus temps are in single figures now.
  12. Camping in January you must be tough. Looking good not easy to keep clean in winter.Still running in I guess.Colour will certainly standout in the summertime.
  13. Congrats. Photos!!! after you've given her/it a wash. Interesting on the tyres seems to be Bridgestone's or Goodyear's then.
  14. Very nice, I'm going for the Race Blue VRs hatch, current one is Grey, hopefully built or being built now as expected February but I've requested they register it in March as it will be so close to the new plate. Pleased to see everyone finally getting their new cars. What tyres are they fitting to the UK models
  15. Mine should be being built this week. How do you plan on selling your car as I'll be in the same situation in a month or 2's time? I was going to try a private ad but the more I think about it the more I'm thinking of selling to one of the "we b___a___car" type places.
  16. Salt spray, seagulls and sand definitely sensible then. How long does the coating last ,do you have to top up or strip and replace never had a coating on a car.Hoping dealers will take pity and delay a few weeks.
  17. Thanks.I have already bought the Center hub caps as not keen on aero inserts. Do you know if it's possible to delay registering the car as the plate changes in March and it looks like I'll be getting the car early Feb. I was going to get ceramic coating but changed my mind I don't mind applying wax occasionally.
  18. Can I ask how long it's taken from the build date.Just got my build date 2nd week Jan so still a few months more to wait.unusal 2 tone finish.Nice red enjoy.
  19. On my UK Mk4 VRS I just use a product called Hammerite Underbody Seal. I change wheels spring and autumn so wipe clean and brush some underseal on jacking points. So far no rust but car only 3yrs old and not high mileage. So long as not trapping moisture and salt should last. There is some type of primer on the metal already.Just keep checking occasionally for any issue.
  20. Same here UK dealer can only tell me order was accepted but no build date or expected delivery.I did spec a few options though.
  21. Octavia VRS (December 2021 Build) Registered Feb.2022 has it. It was an option on the car when I purchased it. Neily03 is correct in that a number of options, standard and additional where affected by the semi-conductor issues.
  22. Pleased to hear you got it sorted. Thanks for updating.
  23. Maybe related to electronic parking brake but I'm just guessing. Maybe check fuses ,assume all other electrics appear working lights, info screen etc.
  24. Thanks for the replies, glad I wasn't the only one. Still worth having the app as an extra back up but as you say depends on a mobile signal. I think I read you have 2 minutes to re-open the boot before it locks if you've put your keys in there. Haven't tried but key should be detected in the main seated areas of the car and not lock. Hopefully won't make that mistake again.
