Nice work, annoying that did not plan out though. But hopefully it means the VW group could fix this with an update for our maps maybe?

Hopefully the VW group rollout config patch for the sd cards as this does almost smack of VW group playing an obsolescence card and not supporting TMC and instead plug their net subscription services.

Meh hopefully a map update or an update via the portal will resolve this issue. TMC is a nice backup for when mobile data signal is not good enough

Does anyone know of a decent reliable set of cargo boot lights which would fit in a skoda combi MY2018? I recently fitted a pair of Leds from Aliexpress , although they provided good brightness compared to the original lights they caused no end of problems with "boot open" errors and even battery drain. Very true. What I do not understand though is why there is power going to the tailgate lights even when the boot is closed. Surely this is a safety issue?

I had this issue recently and was caused by AliExpress LED lights in the tailgate. Removed them and swapped back to the OEM and the problem went away.

Any guides or advice from someone who has actually done this? I am fairly sure as mentioned in the links above that a led strip / "bulb" is required as the low function inner tail light strip does not include the led.

Thanks , that is exactly it. I am hoping there is a way to upgrade the low to high version. Even just the illumination of the inner tail lights will be sufficient.

I think I have a MY2018 model. It is a UK SE Technology first registered in November 2017. It has the sleak all touch MIB 2.5 Amundsen, cornering lights ACC , front and rear sensors. Electric seat and dimming mirror. But the inner rear "tail lights" do not illuminate My guesstimate here is low functionality LED.

Would anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the rear lights on a Skoda Superb MY2018 Estate from "low functionality" to high functionality so the inner rear tail lights illuminate? If so what parts and amount of work would be involved? Thanks and Happy New Year

Can the "c" rear led light be easily retrofitted into a combi? SE Technology MY2018 does not light the middle of "the c".

Having suffered the issue on my MKIII Superb I can tell you it is NOT safe. Disappointing that VW/Skoda do not admit to there being a problem with a number of mechatronic units. I forgot to update the thread but they had my car for just over a month waiting on parts and the warranty to fund the repair. But since the mechatronic unit replaced and fluid leak resolved I have done a fair amount of motorway miles without the issue returning. My main gripe is why the original dealer did not go with the fault code provided by AA in the first place. The second dealer said it is because its a generic code and they have to dig deeper when it is in a faulted state. I hope you are all able to have your gear boxes sorted.

Well Skoda managed to diagnose the issue and for us the problem is pretty severe. Mechatronic unit needs replacing and there is also a small gearbox fluid leak as well. It should be all covered by warranty. Pretty disappointed a 4 and a bit year old car suffered quite so badly.

Our Superb MK3 is currently at the garage awaiting diagnostic on the same error. Easter Bank Holiday weekend we encountered the issue on the way back from Cornwall. The AA were able to clear the error and advised we took the car into the Garage. Garage could not do anything due to the faults being cleared. They drove it on a few 15 mile drives but could not replicate the error. The day after I collected the car the error triggered again on the motorway and only had access to gears 1 and 3. Limped it to a skoda garage near the motorway and they will hopefully find and fix the problem this week. Pain they cannot sort these things out when fault codes are cleared

I have the same problem with our MY2018 superb 7speed DSG 2.0 TDI. It seems like a "glitch", but for whatever reason has not been fixed.

Spoke too soon. Remote access / car connect is still working , but yesterday evening infotainment online stopped working and had disappeared from the online services menu.

Mine started working today. Really strange isn't it?

For me as I have an Amusden unit it is via my mobile's hotspot. Globe does go white and display WLAN. But Škoda connect settings item has disappeared and app is not updating updating with driving data.

I think mine might be an early MIB 2.5 unit because the amundsen is all touch and has a 8 inch screen. Hardware H41 Software 0468 mst2_eu_sk_zr_p0468t Not sure if there are any newer firmwares, but would be nice to fix the random disappearance of Skoda Connect and the clock resetting to midnight.
