  1. This thread was prompted by a mis fire and what sounded like terminal engine failure, turns out it was a plug and / or coil on No. 1 cyl (only renewed 4 months ago by Skoda dealership) Anyway not confident with the VAG plugs that were in have now replaced with Bosch plugs (96335) and new Delphi coils throughout, all seems good now Anyone have positive experiences with plugs for the 1.4 TSI 180 ?
  2. vrs 2014 1.4 TSI 180 I can't seem to find the cylinder layout for my engine is cyl 1 drivers or pass side ?
  3. Update, Finally got my calipers refurbished to my requirements, Just a final application of C5 wheels armour required prior to fitting. I've probably got 50 hours in these and Circa ÂĢ200 in components Still have caliper mounting bolts to source then repeat for the ones I remove
  4. Update, Managed to dismantle the rear caliper where the piston wasn't unscrewing to find serious rust corrosion, both rears scrapped I spent 11 hours starting to prep front calipers and all carriers, then gave up (probably another 11 hours required) and I'm sending out for refurb and repaint photos to follow
  5. Front calipers seem fine, (rears I'm ordering some refurbished ones as I think it will cost more to salvage the existing ones) Starting to clean and strip / sand blast, will probably opt for Foliatec professional 2 pack red lacquer
  6. Hmm, On initial strip for cleaning one of the rear calipers does not extend with either the lever or rotating it and the one I have stripped shows pitting and scoring on the bore. Is it worth proceeding to refurbish these ?
  7. Hello, I have a spare set of Fabia mk2 vrs calipers and am going to refurbish them, the mechanicals are straightforward and no challenge but I want the paint finish to be as good as possible and long lasting, I know I could send them away to get fully refurbished but don't have ÂĢ500 knocking around spare. Preference would be a two pack epoxy but can't source G2 over here 9USA) and unable to find a UK alternative, plenty of foliatech and E-Tech etc about but wonder about their longevity, realise that its all about the prep and not afraid to do the work (have access to full garage equipment and sand blaster) Any personal experiences / recommendations welcomed 🙂
  8. thanks @sepulchrave
  9. There are 2 different bleed nipples shown for my 2014 1.4 vrs anyone know which is the one I require (I'll be taking a wheel off next week" but some knowledgeable soul may already have the answer
  10. @Mickmartin I have access to VCDS and seen the option as I progress through the settings
  11. As title I feel as if these (various previous owner settings) need resetting to re learn adaptions based on my driving styles, are there any watch outs ?
  12. Before I proceed to renew my worn knob and gaiter I'm researching how to remove the existing knob and gaiter, I know how the gaiter un clips around the base what I'm finding difficulty in determining is how the actual knob and chrome lever are removed, Haynes manual is just generic poo on the subject. Anyone have experience or knowledge how to remove it. As ever any assistance welcomed 🙂
  13. To draw this to a close. Double checked this with vcds and its correct (850 / 900 rpm)
  14. Checked and increases to 800 rpm in D with foot on brake Being worrisome on my part I think
  15. Looking at this again it idles at 650 RPM as @edbostan states @toot Thanks, in drive remains at 650, S increases correctly to 1000 RPM I may be being a bit OTT ðŸĪŠ
  16. @edbostan it falters slightly and doesn't idle smoothly
  17. Hello, Currently my vehicle idles at 800 RPM and feels as if its going to stall (doesn't) How do I increase it slightly ? I've carried out a number of searches on the forums but the result is 40 pages to trawl through. I have VCDs and when I look at the adaptions in the engine control module no idle speed adjustment is shown only "park heating activation" do I require the engine module security access code to get into the module to make the adjustment ? if so where will I find out the code ? As ever any assistance greatly welcomed
  18. 👍 welcome
  19. Are you sure its not the door wiring harness at fault ?
