  1. Does the Mk II benifit from an uprated ARB?
  2. I seriously considering putting the OEM springs back on now.. H&R springs are mentioned in another post along with the suggestion of swapping out the rear ARB.... so confusing!
  3. Ive got a couple of retired greyhounds which would be more than happy to come and have a 'chat' with the local moggy....
  4. Christ they look poor! Would look lovely on a soft top Escort RS Turbo replica....:P
  5. Indeed I do, sorry - I should of mentioned in my org post! Could anyboday recommend somewhere in the midlands where I could go for professional advice? Re the poundage point, unsure if this is the issue with the mk II as so many on the forum have recommended the FSD / Eibach setup
  6. Could definately do with taking to a ride / handling place so they can tweak or 'trim' the suspension. As it sits I am considering putting the OEM springs back on...
  7. I have recently had the FSD + Pro Kit combo fitted to may VRS but while the handling has improved the ride has become very hard (as per my previous post) Recently have read that chopping or fitting smaller bumpstops can improve the thrashy ride often attained by fitting lower springs. Is this the case? will this allow more movement on the shock absorber and smooth the ride up? Or I am I barking up the wrong tree here? Thanks peeps
  8. I've gotta agree with Mr Fish here, the PS2's are very good. So much so, I have just paid 247 quid for two which have been put on the front today!
  9. I'm running 18's - 225/40's tried letting some air out but has affected the handling. Toying with the idea of putting the OEM springs back in...
  10. The local Revo garage - Sportstech in Long Eaton know what there doing...but that cheap tbf
  11. Have they got the kit to change boost levels on Revo'd cars?
  12. I have recently had FSD's and Prokit fitted to my vrs and for the most part I was happy with it, however the ride seems to be getting worse! Now I feel like a bit of an idiot saying this as I know many people on here and at the end of the day it is a performance setup but the general understanding is that the ride isn’t compromised too much... Maybe I have my tyre pressure wound up too much or are there 'tweaks' that can be made to the suspension to fine tune it? Or maybe it’s me being too picky and I need to stop moaning (be honest chaps ) Rich
  13. I have, vrstu turned it on for me via vagcom
  14. Was wondering what low-cost mods I can now make to get some more out of my Octy VRS II I have had quite a bit done to it so far which includes Revo Stage I, fuel pump mod, Bonio Induction, short shifter, side to side shifter, and Pro kit + FSD's I recently took a drive (3hr one!) down to JKM where they fitted the shifters and suspension. They had to replace the diverter valve as mine had gone pop, Kate said that the boost was far too high and they had to turn it down a tad. Now as regards the ride and gearchange, well 'night and day' doesn't really cover it as it handles much better (although ride is alot firmer) and gear change is effortless. But, I miss the extra power! Tbh, is still quite torquey and the fuel pump mod ensures smooth power delivery to the redline. Is there anything else I can do to increase the power without adding a performance exhaust and an Evoms kit as I now cant afford them! Like the title suggests...cake and eat it springs to mind! Cheers Rich

  16. Think you have about sumed it up there Babs, its human nature to voice complains rather than praise. I personnelly think that like with ANY company selling a product or service, Skoda had a steep moutain to climb to get from where they was to where they are today. This meant (again like in so many cases) that even if there product (in this case the Octy I) for aguements shake scored a 6 out of 10, they would work bl**dy hard to bridge the 4 point gap by giving an excellent warranty backed by solid dealership service. However, the landscape had moved on. The Skoda brand has been raised and so have the sales...and to some extend the product (i.e. in the Octy's case better Golf MkV sourced componets) So Skoda starts to become complacent, production is increased to meet demand hence more what I call 'Friday' cars are made (I know this as I used to work at Toyota!) and because of the climbing sales (and prices) they indirectly create the complacent culture within the dealership network (by not backing them on alot of warrenty claims) which unfortunately is becoming more and more commanplace. 17. Got it booked in at the dealer on Friday morning so will see what they say. Ironically, Im having FSD's + Eibach pro springs fitted at JKM on sat am....kinda worried that fiddling may make the problem worse.. Also unsure if the Eibachs will make the ride too firm but thats another issue.
  18. Driving the missus to the local supermarket yesterday I noticed a grunching noise coming from the front left when I turned left. This only happens when more than 3/4 lock is used. Got down on my hands and knees to look for anything obvious but couldn't see owt (first thought was that the plastic wheel arch cover might of come away...but nothing. Bit worrying really as Ive had the car lesss then a year with only 10k on the clock  Just hope it could be something simple as I REALLY dont want to have to get the dealer involved as they are Sh*te! Anybody had any similar noises or related problems? Rich
  19. Think Im gonna go for both the springs and FSD's as I heard very good reports on this combo....might even help me get the powerdown better....
  20. Feckin ell!!!! 500bhp on a FWD car??!!!
