Creaking noise on my 2019 VRS Estate
Would agree with Gaz to look at the drop-links. I had a very annoying creaking sound coming from the drivers side when moving at low speeds. New drop-link on the drivers side cured the problem. cost £160 all in to sort.

Suspension feeling tired, what to change?
106k miles Octavia TSI VRs Estate here. all struts replaced around 100k miles. fronts were starting to leak. went for Bilstein. TBH ended up doing a overhaul of the whole suspension set up including drop links and top mounts. would echo what Indars says about Sachs quality as replaced the top mounts with Sachs as drivers side failed after a few months. as advice, the estate struts are bigger than the hatchback struts. i know this as i bought the hatch ones and they didn't fit!

Rear Suspension Knocking after lowering
just to close this one off. issue was the drop links for the rear anti roll bars. The top pin for drop links had worn enough that it was allowing the RARB to move in ways it was not meant to, hence the knocking noise I was hearing. hours labour and £50 in parts. finally glad the noise it gone!

Rear Suspension Knocking after lowering
Morning all, after some advice please car - 2015 Octavia Estate 2.0 TSI DSG 103K miles Around 6 months ago I lowered my car (Eibach Sportlines) and pretty much since I've been getting a horrible knocking noise coming from the rear of the car that seems to progressively get worse the longer and bumpier the journey you go on and more noticeable at low speeds. Local garage suspected rear top mounts and struts, which I went ahead with (was going to get them done any way given age an mileage and they were originals) they fitted KYB shocks and top mount and still getting the noise. Seating of the springs has been triple checked and they are sitting fine. I've also checked the exhaust hasn't come loose and it's still snug so don't believe that to be the issue. Any guidance with where to go next. I'm thinking rear ARB but want to 'ask the audience' for their opinions. Thanks Ross

front shocks
£960 sounds quite steep even with top mounts! i've recently had top mounts, struts and drop links done on mine. i bought Sachs top mounts, Bilstein struts and Delphi drop links. parts all in about £200. Got a local mobile mechanic to fit costing £120. I'm based in the south west.

VRS 230 Strut Help
Hey guys, car is a 2015 mk3 VRS230 estate. I bought the following struts from Bilstein a few months back, part nos below. I believed i had done all the right checks to ensure they were the correct part, however had a chap out to fit today and neither the rears or the fronts were right. The bushes for the rear were too small and the strut outside diameter on the fronts too small. 19-230542 22-230522 The mechanic i had out said that i could order a sleeve for the fronts and bigger bushes for the rears which would make them fit. But given my clear ineptitude to order the right thing in the first place i'm not trusting myself to order the right thing. would anyone know what it is i need to order?

Should I stay or should I go?
Just unlucky by the sounds. My TSI VRS 2015 just ticked over 96k miles and I've had no problems in 3 years of ownership, just general maintenance. My previous car which i had for 5 years was a 2013 A3 2.0 TDI. Best car i've ever owned. went up and down the country taking it well over 100k miles and it never missed a beat. Sometimes you just get lucky or unlucky as the case may be.

Tips on how to make my Pre-Facelift Mk3 Octavia look better?
The SE Sport has quite a nice subtle boot lip spoiler. Can't imagine it's much to pick one of those up

Front end knock,creak,clunk VRS
Top mounts are common to go also. I'm just waiting on replacements to do mine and lots of creaking coming from the off side.

Wrong oil used by garage? VRS 230

Normal startup noise 2016 EA888 2.0 Video included
sound like mine tbf. do you know if that was a warm start or cold start? mine is quite rattily on a cold start. less so when warm. They aren't the quietest of engines though.

P177C - Clutch Tolerance Limit Reached
Thanks for the responses, guys. It just seemed too coincidental that the map was carried out and the clutches reach tolerance. I'd assumed, perhaps wrongly, that tolerance values would have been reset as part of the map and that a relearn wouldn't be needed. If I perform the basic setting reset, does any one know whether this would mess with the gearbox map?

P177C - Clutch Tolerance Limit Reached
Morning all, looking for some advice, please. 2015 DSG VRs TSI 230 on 96k miles I've recently (about a month ago) had the car remapped to stage 1 (racingline) along with the gearbox map that they also offer. I did this all using the PDM module that Racingline offer. I scanned the car prior to mapping and no issues at all. However, I scanned the car last week with VCDS and I've got both clutches reporting P177C - Clutch Tolerance Limit Reached reached now. I cleared the faults and rescanned over the weekend and they faults have come back. Car drives fine. I know that the gearbox map changes the tolerance limit so my question is - is this a true fault or just a "ghost message" because of the changes made by the gearbox map? Thanks

Eyelashes light issue
Hello, welcome to the forum! I believe that the light units are factory sealed. So if the LED strip is failing then a new headlight is required.

Skoda Octavia VRS xenon problem
weird one! Issue with the auto levelling pointing the lights at the floor? Had a GTI with a faulty levelling motor and the lights shot directly in front of the nose of the car, so the distance seemed really dark.

Mk111 VRS

Coolant level dropping & no heat
I had a 2013 Audi A3 2.0 TDI (would be the same engine as OP) loss of coolant, no heating. The coolant loss on mine would usually be the morning after a long drive, get in the car and would flag a low coolant warning. Was a blocked heater matrix. Got an OEM one of the bay for £30 and replaced it myself. I'm by no means a mechanic, but i'd seen threads on the Audi forums saying that garages were quoting upwards of £600 for replacement as it was a 'dash out job'. we'll it wasn't and i wasn't going to pay that much for it. I can't comment on replacement in an Octavia, but can't imagine the process is too dissimilar. centre console and glovebox out what all it was in the A3

Slightly oily spark plug
I very nearly posted this very thread myself as I did the spark plugs on my VRS weekend just gone an noticed the same. plug for cylinder 4 (going left to right) had quite a bit of oil on it. Not only that it had seized too. Once i got the plug out, I found that the metal washer was stuck angled on the plug thread. So I'm assuming that this was part of my oil issue as the plug wasn't seated correctly. Plugs 2 & 3 were also under torqued, which speaks volumes about the level of servicing from the dealership. From the research i did, bit of oil isn't anything to worry about. a lot of oil, likely the valve gasket as mentioned. believe it's actually a sealant rather that a gasket though. Car doesn't get driven much so i'm going to monitor to see if the new plugs end up in the same state after a couple of months.

LED self levelling headlights issue
if you park in front of a wall at night and turn the lights on, do you see them do their leveling self test? Should see them move up and down could be the sensor, as others have said, or could be the motor. The motor went on my sisters GTI and we did the wall test as mentioned above and you could see the light beam vibrate where it was trying to run the leveling test.

Boot Light Replacement Bulbs/LEDs
Done this mod myself recently, no coding for the interior bulbs. 501 is correct. got mine off Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0728J4FQZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These bulbs were a little on the big side for the boot and glove box fitment, got them to fit with a bit of jiggery pokery though.
