That happened to me too for a couple of days, Škoda knew of the issue and it was affecting most cars across Europe (but not all weirdly) but currently mine is back to normal.

There's not been a facelift yet so how can it change The image at the top of the page was of a face-lifted Karoq on mine originally, then the app crashed and when it came back online the image was of a white pre-facelift Karoq but now it’s back to how it was to begin with as below. The issue was across all models according to Škoda, but again not everyone was affected.

Well still no return to normal so I’ve just sent yet another email to Škoda ‘support for digital services’ let’s see what happens this time…

Yeah the 19” wheels were a bit of a sticking point for me initially and tried the get the dealer to put it on 18” wheels but they were having none of it unfortunately 😂 That said I’ve been surprised by how comfortable the 19” have been, it’s all rather subjective to a degree but they’re not nearly as bad as I was expecting, almost dreading!

Call me a cynic but I think it’s a very shrewd (read cynical) marketing ploy by Škoda, I think most people would opt for a heated front screen if it was available alone for £200 say but they want an extra £600/700 (I can’t remember now) for the winter plus pack.

I can’t (to date at least) fault them, I’ve never been flashed by oncoming traffic so can only presume it’s working as intended. I was originally about to place an order for an SEL but when I discovered I could get a SportLine for a comparable price with the added extras, including the LED light pack, which if I remember correctly was an almost £2000 extra with the SEL so I went with the SportLine. One of the things that surprised me with the SEL was that all of the internal lighting was still filament bulbs, not a dealbreaker in itself but surprising on a brand new 2023 car.

Unfortunately you couldn’t order just a heated front screen when I placed my order last November, you could only get it as part of a pack that included heated rear seats. I already have heated front seats and heated washer jets so I was a bit annoyed I couldn’t just get a screen without adding on a whole other ‘winter pack’

What are your main reservations about the matrix LED’s? I have them on my Karoq and must admit after being somewhat sceptical about them they’ve been a revelation in terms of light output and how seamlessly they’ve worked.

Here we go again…🙄 I’ll give it 24 hours before I contact Škoda again, not exactly endearing itself to me or making me want to renew the subscription when it runs out.

@Seasider Thats pretty much verbatim what I got back from Škoda too, I agree the ‘essentials’ moniker seems to cheapen it a little even though the functionality is unchanged.

It’s a pity this isn’t smellivision as the wild garlic smelt amazing.

@Seasider Yes, it happened to me overnight a week or so ago, couldn’t get it working for about 24 hours from the time the app was updated. I contacted Škoda about it and it was working again within 24 hours of contacting them. I tried logging out and back in again but nothing would get it working initially and then when I did finally manage to log back in the image of the car had changed from my model to a pre facelift version. I contacted them again and once more within 24 hours the image of my car had reappeared. So in summary probably worth dropping them an email first off and go from there 👍🏻 I used this email address: *****@*****.tld
