Karoq or Tiguan
Same here (except I’m 6’1”) and also have a dodgy back and the ease of getting in and out of the car was one of the deciding factors over getting a Octavia. I can’t speak from experience about rear kids seats but online reviews seem to suggest the Karoq works well for large isofix children’s seats.

Karoq - Fitting Mud Flaps Instructions
I’ve been pondering fitting mud flaps since before I got the car but after today I think the decision has been made 😆 So am I right in thinking the front mud flaps are a universal fit for all years/iterations of the Karoq? (The version for vehicles without the arch trim #57A075111A) I know I need Part no. 57A075101A for the rear as I have a 23 MY SportLine.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
Completely agree 👍🏻

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
For anyone undecided about removing the cheesegraters…sorry…aero inserts here’s a before and after and a photo of the bits you’ll need. I will say that even though the car has only covered 30 miles and has had a wash (inserts left in place) there was quite a large build up of brake dust on the inner barrels of the wheels, perhaps something to be aware of. Part number for the centre caps to suit 19” Sagittarius alloys is: 5JA601151FOD

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
@LaurenceCarr This is how quick and easy it is, after I’ve released the 5 ‘petals’ you’ll see on my first attempt at pulling the trim off I’m not gripping the trim near enough to the centre. When I reposition my fingers behind and nearer the hub it pulls off effortlessly. FullSizeRender.MOV

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
I think it’s a ‘multi-use’ bit of bent wire 😂 But yes, towing eye cover removal too.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
In my boot there’s a little wire wheel trim removal tool as in the attached photo but I didn’t need it to remove the trims.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
Just a sharp tug (oo-er) as near to the centre of the trim as you can will free it.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
@LaurenceCarr Just pull them off carefully one ‘petal’ at a time, they’re a lot looser fitting than I was expecting which makes me suspect even more that they will harbour grit/dirt and rub holes in the lacquer. I’m just waiting for my centre caps to arrive next week then mine will be permanently removed as well.

Skoda, satnav – is it worth persevering with?
Morning I don’t have the full VC so can’t help with that unfortunately but as far as I’m aware you can only put the Škoda nav screen on the VC, I may be wrong but I’m sure that’s what I’ve read somewhere 🤔 I have driven a Karoq with the full VC and tried it with the nav but can’t honestly say it’s something I’d use, I prefer to use the main screen as I found it a bit too cramped and busy with the map displayed in there to be of any use. (To me at least)

@Lady Elanore @pinkpanther Thanks both, one of those ‘right place right time’ shots, my daughter and I had walked down to the beach to watch the sunset and as she was paddling in the water in the foreground Mother Nature put on a quite spectacular show for us.

Skoda, satnav – is it worth persevering with?
I’ve found the same with the Škoda navigation, certainly not the most intuitive system in the world. In fairness I’ve not used a manufacturers built-in nav that ever was to be honest. Come the end of my initial 12 month ‘everything included for free’ period I won’t be renewing it, both Apple Maps and Google Maps are so much more user friendly and easier on the eye. Obviously the live traffic reporting and ‘free’ continuous updates also make it a no-brainier for me, I do wonder why manufacturers think people would choose their clunky, overpriced systems over Android Auto or CarPlay? (Provided it’s supported of course) As an example in my previous vehicle, a Vauxhall but please don’t hold that against me 😆, they wanted £125 for a subscription to their live traffic reporting after the first year of ownership.

I’ve been trying to figure this out as well but on a Amundsen unit and with no success to date. I also assumed that you could upload a picture for the ‘infotainment’ profiles as well but again this doesn’t seem to be an option.

@Wingnut73uk This may help, there are a lot of detailed dimensions here… https://www.ridc.org.uk/features-reviews/out-and-about/choosing-car/car/karoq-15-tsi-5dr-saloon-2017 HTH

1.5 TSI engine cover
Here’s photo of the engine minus the cover but with the peg that’s missing (top left) in later engines. (Not my photo)

Superb User profile avatar
Bit of a thread resurrection but did you ever resolve this? I got a Karoq this week with the Amundsen unit and while setting it up I ran into the same thing, the greyed out avatar would seem to suggest you can add an image but so far no joy. Anyone have a definitive answer as dealer seemed unsure?

1.5 TSI engine cover
It looks like it’s just the 4th peg on the top left as the other 3 pegs are all present, from what @sussamb describes it looks like there’s no longer a threaded hole or fixing on the aluminium cover as with previous iterations.

Parcel Shelf Net
I want to ask a favour if anyone has the parcel shelf under-netting please. I haven’t got a Fabia but wondered if this would fit the parcel shelf in a Karoq. What I’m looking for is the length of the plastic trim (A in the photo) and the width of the netting between the two arrows (B) Cheers

1.5 TSI engine cover
The cover definitely finishes off the engine bay, the tiny token thing they fit now is utterly pointless.
