  1. Hi all just filled up again (3 click method) at the same petrol station and the fuel at 99.9p a litre again. I got £51 in the tank and the on board computer said i had done 466 miles with 40 left in the tank. Does this seam right?
  2. all the pics of beading is looking good, i use poor boys black hole show glae and AG srp. Will get some pics up shortley.
  3. My advice would be before you pitch your tent lay a groundsheet on the ground and pitch the tent on the groundsheet. Saves you getting a wet floor.
  4. Thanx all for your input, might try and make the Mansfield meet on Tuesday
  5. Wega how do you deciver that information on the link you posted?
  6. The 450 miles to a tank full also includes the 50 miles in the reserve. So what do other 2.0 tdi dsg drivers get to a tank full then. I know it also depends on what type of roads you are driving on, but I mainly drive on country roads, motorways, and little urban roads eg 30mph roads.
  7. The onboard computer shows on average 35-39mpg.
  8. Hi all, just filled (3 click method) my octavia 2.0 tdi dsg and just checked my onboard computer and says 450 miles till i need to re fuel. This cant be right this is my second Octavia 2.0 tdi with dsg and the mpg on the new one is garbage compared to my last one. I have just taken the new car upto 9500 miles and I drive like a vicars wife but I can never get five hundred miles out of a tank full. I called in Bickertons this week to ask if this mpg was ok, and the service department said and quote " thats good about average". So please guys let me know what you get to a tank full? Cheers Dave.
  9. I am on my second 2.0 tdi dsg octavia and have towed with both and have had no problems at all. The gearbox takes all the strain out of towing in my opinion. Just remember on a steep hill use the sport setting of the gearbox. Hopes this helps
  10. I use Poor boys Black hole polish looks great on my black magic paint work followed by AG SRP.
  11. Hi just need a bit of help regarding gimp software, thought I would use gimp to lower a picture of my Octavia II estate. I followed the instructions from this forum and I get the marching ants line around my car but I cant get the layer to move where I want it to???? Am I being really stupid or what, so can anyone help before I throw my pc out the window
  12. Hi all, my daughter owns a car but it is declared SORN at the moment so has no tax, insurance or MOT. All I wanted to know was can I legally take it to a mot station?
  13. Well have finally got the car back this afternoon and all looks well, will try an get some pics up later:thumbup:
  14. My first one used a litre or so when I went to the south west of france and back, and the my second car has not used a drop in 3000 miles
  15. I rang the insurance company, and I have an independant mechanical engineer coming to my house tomorrow to look at the car. Hopefully should be getting the car properly repaired.
  16. I would try Meguirs swirl remover2, hope this helps
  17. Thanx all will deffo ring insurance company tomorrow
  18. BoooooHoooooooooo, car is going back again. The paintwork on the nearside front wing where they feathered in the paint to match as got so many swirl marks from the orbital or rotary polisher it looks like an ice rink. And the rear passenger door as got a large dull patch just above the rubber strip about the size of a cd, and the rear quarter panel window is all scratched on the outside I presume from the grinder when removing the damaged quarter panel. And finally the rear passenger sill looks like it has no clear coat on it at all. This will be the third time the car has gone back now, am thinking about phoning the insurance company to make a complaint? What do you think?
  19. Have the car back now, and all looks well they even washed and hoovered the car aswell.
  20. BOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO, car as gone back the nearside headlight is way out of line compared to offside and I cant open the bonnet. The guy at the large accident repair centre first tried telling me they hadn`t opened the bonnet. But he came round to my thinking when I asked him how did he get the paint code and I hoped they disconnected the battery for the spot welding of the nearside rear quater panel. So god knows when I will get it back now!!!!!
  21. I have the car back now, wooohoo. It looks good but cant tell as it is persistantly raining in Barnsley at the mo. The total cost of the repair is less than they thought they originally quoted around £3500 and the bill came in at £2500.
  22. Will be going over the car tomorrow with a fine tooth comb
  23. Just to clarify, the other party has accepted blame, as I had my bonnet and front passenger door past his van when he started reversing and i should get the car back tomorrow morning the 15th of May.
