anyone any ideas?

Is the mystery now solved? The service manager has said the malfunction is due to way the car is set up, the oil temp sensor that is showing a malfunction is there for variable servicing and my car is set to fixed servicing. So when you do a full scan that sensor is not used so it shows up a malfunction? As for other electrical problems they did not show up when the car was back at Bickertons also they have no answer for the poor mpg (mid 30`s). Is this right vrStu?

As above there is the felicia L&K, I have seen it outside Halfrauds at Corton Wood Barnsley. And it even has leather.

Yes, this is my 3rd Skoda from Bickertons.

Will try and sought out a new scan, then ring Bickertons see if they have a loan car? If they have a loan car would I be expected to pay the £10 a day cost`s?

What year is you car? I had dimming mirrors on my 2006 Octavia L&K, but my new one 2008 just dims the rearview mirror and both cars have dark windows (blackout) no problems at all when dimming the mirrors.

This fault has been with the car since day 1 of my ownership, and its crippling my mpg I am only just getting 400 miles to a tank full of fuel whereas before with my other Octavia II (same engine, gearbox, spec, except new one is an estate) i was getting well over 500 sometimes 550 to a tank full. And I am driving the new car very carefully. Any ideas anyone?

Sorry stu cant rescan with the latest software at the mo. But another update for you Skoda have been in touch with Bickertons and the car goes in again Wednesday for the full day.They think it may be a problem with the wiring loom now? Am a bit fed up really have only had the car 4 weeks, think I have bought a right lemon. What do you think I should do? Should I stick with the car as I have spent £200 on the windows blacked out, or ring Skoda to have a go at them. Anyone with any advice please.

Come on guys anyone shed any light on this fault, Stu u any ideas?

Have just tried the aux input in the jumbo box, but all I can hear is like a feedback noise and very faint music in the background.Any one got any ideas what this could be?

An yet another update, Bickertons have had the car all day to fix the engine malfunction. They have replaced the internal oil temp sensor, and the engine malfunction is still there. So are sending another report to skoda and waiting for a reply. Cant fault Bickertons at all well just one tiny grumble not been offered a loan car. This is my 3rd Skoda but the 1st with any kind of problem at all.

Just an update the car goes back to Bickerton on Wednesday for the engine malfunction fixing. They say its a internal oil temp sensor? Would this affect my mpg as I am only getting mid 30`s where as before I was getting mid 40`s from my last Octavia II with the same engine, gearbox, spec?

Just a quick update on this thread, car has now been into Bickertons and the fault showed up on there equipment. But wait for it they dont know whats wrong with the car, so they have made a report and sent it to skoda. They should hear something within 3 days. But if they dont know what is wrong with the car how come they know they will need it for 3 days to repair. And what repair takes at least 3 days?

Just emailed ross-tech, so perhaps they can shed some light on it. Stu would this fault be related to a loud whistling turbo when engine is cold (like a fire engine). and not so loud but very noticable when engine is warm and very poor mpg mid 30`s when I was getting mid 40`s to high 40`s from last Octavia same engine and gearbox?

HI all, think I may have find some new genuine Octavia II vRS springs for my car. Does anyone know how much lower they are compared to standard?

I cleared all the fault codes down and touch wood they have not returned all except the engine fault:confused:. The engine fault was there straight away, does anyone think its related to my mpg as I am only getting mid 30`s knocking around where as with my other Octavia II 2.0tdi pd dsg was getting mid 40`s knocking around:confused:.

I tow with a 2.0tdi pd dsg, and I wouldnt go back to a manual again. As long as you are nowhere near your 1400kg towing limit its fine in fact this is my second 2.0tdi pd dsg and had no problems at all.
