If you get a device that can switch remaps (e.g. ByteFlash) then how would they know if you switch it to the standard remap just before taking it into the garage?

I really don't understand anyone who is adverse to AdBlue due to the cost. The range you get between fill ups is massive (you even get 2400km range when the low warning light comes on), so only those who are really really badly organised would be subjected to an extortionate price. A reasonable price seems to be around 50p to £1 per litre which is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of cost of motoring. I suspect anyone complaining about the cost has some hidden other issue with AdBlue.

I don't get the reluctance for using AdBlue. Seems like it's a good thing for the environment and reducing air pollution (the air we all breath). The Superb AdBlue tank is 13 litres. Using approx 1 litre of AdBlue per 1000km gives a range of around 8000 miles per tank. If you top it up when the low level warning light comes on, then you can still get around 6500 miles. That's quite a big range between fill ups so I can't see it being hugely inconvenient.

Rough Road Package this time round?
techno79 replied to Niall's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
So what actually prevents the this option from being specified on the L&K? Is it just because 16" and 17" wheels are not an option on it? But surely the 16" and 17" wheels would still have been the same total diameter and width as the 18" so can't see why it makes a difference. -
Quick questions for newbie

Sweet, everything is supported and 2 x 128GB would be cheap and more than enough storage. Actually, I think I could get away with a single 64GB card but there's room for future growth. -

That's great, thank you. So having two SD card slots is just a way to give you more storage than what is available on a single SD card. Sounds like a great system. Are they SDHC slots (i.e. max of 32GB) or do they support SDXC (supports all the 32GB+ higher capacity cards)? Thanks again. -

With regards to the SD cards for Columbus system, can each SD card contain different content. E.g. Can SD card 1 can contain some videos, music and POI while SD card 2 has it's own mixture of content? -

LOL I said questions (plural). Although each question was quick to answer, there were many of them. I do have some longer questions but I'm still researching things so I may find the answer to them myself. If not then there will be a follow up post. -

Thanks for the reply. I find the Isofix option strange, why is this a £45 option? Surely having the points in the front seat make no difference to those who don't need it. Seems almost pointless having it as a chargeable option (especially on the L&K version). Why not just throw it in. -
I've read the manual for the Superb Mk3 but still have a few questions that I've either missed or didn't understand. Grateful if someone is able to answer these: Is there an audio or visual driver alert for all 3 rear passengers not wearing their seat belts? Why is heated washer jets an option on the L&K (or any of the trim levels)? I thought this was a standard feature on even the most basic of modern cars. Why does the Columbus system have 2 SD card slots? What can they be used for? What can the Columbus DVD drive be used for? DVD movie playback or DVD audio? Also, what is the integrated WiFi used for? In this video, it shows white on white for the dash dials and looks really bad. What options result in this? https://youtu.be/df1914M39oc?t=15m18s Are the rear seat heating, just outer seats or all 3? Can the DSG paddles be used to override the gear in auto mode? (like it does with BMWs) Page 79 of the manual talks about a winter position for the wiper blades? What is this? There are things in the manual that state configuration which a specialist garage can make e.g. activation/deactivation of a final windscreen wiper wipe after the last one as mentioned on page 80. How much do these configuration changes cost and is it relatively easy for the garage? Can the radar aspect of the Advanced Cruise Control be disabled so it behaves like basic cruise control? Is it likely that the Auxiliary heating will ever be an option in the UK? Are all the gadgety type options in the Superb available in the Octavia or does the Superb have options that are exclusive to the Superb? What is in the wheel well if a space saver wheel isn't specified? Can a space saver wheel be ordered after sales? And will it be at the same cost as when specifying from new? Does the ISOfix front seat option just add the hooks or does the option do anything else? Thanks in advance

Are there any English video reviews of Superbs with the 280 engine? My Googling didn't lead me to any videos let alone English ones.

UK Launch, what do you want to know?
techno79 replied to ColinD's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Yeah, possibly something like this would work: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Port-Flexible-USB-Hub/dp/B00872B426/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438939159&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+usb+hub -
Am I missing something, why isn't heated windscreen washer jets nozzles a standard feature? I'm fairly sure that pretty much any modern car would have these. Even on the L&K it's a £50 option (according to the brochure).

Adaptive cruise control questions
techno79 replied to techno79's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I thought I read in the manual that the acceleration used in ACC is dependent on the mode you select with DCC. From memory, Sport mode will be quite aggressive but Eco would be much more sedate. Normal is obviously somewhere in the middle. Not sure if that's helpful though or whether the linking of the DCC setting to the acceleratione of the ACC is even a logical thing. -

I'm confused with those wanting a USB port in the back. If there's a 12v socket, couldn't you use something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00M6Q83B4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 It's extremely small and provides two USB ports. Also, because it's so small, it can still be in place when there's door/flip panels in place. Sits just a couple of mm above the socket. -

Adaptive cruise control questions
techno79 replied to techno79's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Thanks for all the help. I've had a good gloss over the manual so I've picked up a lot of info. Thank you for the responses though :-) -
Hi I'm very much interested in the new Mk3 Superb L&K model and was interested in the Adaptive Cruise Control option. Does anyone know much about it to be able to answer the following questions: Does ACC bring the car to a complete stop or does it work only to a minimum speed? (I think BMW's version takes it to a complete stop if needed) Does ACC work with manual transmission? If yes, what happens if it requires a down or up shift of gears? (Normally pressing the clutch would disengage the cruise so if you had to shift gears then this would disengage the cruise and thus you'd have to reactivate it again. Really confused how this would work with manual transmission). Does it give user options as to how much gap it leaves between you and the next car? (again, comparing it to the BMW version which gives 3 or 4 options for how much gap it leaves). Thanks very much
