Is it fu*k the case - the dealer is bound to say that. Screenwash is screenwash. You need to use VW group coolant (G12) apparently, but I wouldn't worry about screenwash.

It'll be the sway bar bushes - they are a common wear item on VAG motors - don't cost too much to replace.

I use Halfords lemon fresh screenwash, 5 parts water to 1 part screenwash - it's awesome!

In relation to them coming on with the ignition, I thought as long as they go out again then it's OK? When they come on it's just them doing a self diagnostic check isn't it? I've noticed in the cold weather they stay on a bit longer than usual, but then so does my glow plug light.

Nah mate - no side effects whatsoever. My Bora used to creak like a ******* for the entire year I had it - sway bar bushes were shot to **** on the front, but I just never got round to replacing them.

Yeah it's gone well through the paint. It's gouged the plastic - I'm a goddamn spoon!

Amazingly, in the cold light of day, it doesn't actually look that bad! I'm still annoyed though. Anyway - what are your thoughts? Can it be filled and painted and how much am I looking at about? The bumper is slightly gouged where it has struck the concrete...

I'm such a tit! I was parking up in work and there was a low wall which I didn't notice (stupid I know). Luckily I was reversing very slowly... there was a crunch and I thought:... well, I won't tell you what I thought! Damage report - corner of the rear bumper on the drivers' side is scraped to ****! Looks ugly as hell! I'll post a pic tomorrow and you knowledgable people can tell me whether I'm gonna need a new one or whether a decent body shop will be able to fill it(?) and re-paint. I'm so ****ed at my own stupidity!

Yeah, mine sounds like a knackered Ford Transit in the cold mornings too... the glow plug light takes longer to go out and something else weird I've noticed - when it's really cold after you turn the ignition and the car runs the quick self-diagnostic check on the functions (dash lights all come on and then go out again), upon starting, my ABS and ASR lights come back on again for a second or two before going out... is this normal?

I am intrigued...

I had this and sorted it by running the heater on full blast with the recirc on for ages! I think it must have chopped the leaves up like a ****in Jack Lalanne power juicer as it doesn't happen anymore!

Tell you what goddamn rattle was doing my swede in on my VRS - when I pulled off in 1st or hit reverse I got a deep hum that sounded like a third rate death metal bands' bass guitar... I eventually traced it to the passenger side seatbelt socket thing which was vibrating against the side of the handbrake console at certain engine speeds... a quick operation with some black insulating tape and a thin spongy pad thingy and it was fixed... onto the next rattle!

Mine has them - they rock at this time of year! Question though - I'm considering getting a leather interior fitted by Seat Surgeons or a similar company and am wondering whether I will be able to as I have the heated seats?
