Why not get a friend to take you down the day before, get a B&B, go for a few lagers, get up next day and drive your new car home! I had to collect a car from Bridgewater in Somerset once and drive it back to Germany, totally enjoyed it and wouldn't have changed a thing. You have to take your car for a decent drive when you first pick it up, IT'S THE LAW!

Someone on here who is near you might do it for an arrangement (normally A LOT cheaper than a garage). Put out a word on here asking for VAGCOM help.

you need vagcom plugged into your car and taken for a test drive, there is also a test that can be done on the speed sender (behind front left wheel).

Does sound a bit high?

I think the service reset only stays on extended if reset with VAGCOM. If reset on the dash with ignition key, I'm sure it reverts back to normal servicing.

It's blown the letters/numbers off your front number plate!!! Nice one!

My octavia is the same, blows cold if temp dial is all the way round at cold, anything slightly above blows hot...always has. I'm sure the temp is controlled by a cable from the dial to an arm somewhere on the heater box

Look around on here, there is a common fault with the Fabia steering sensor.

\has the cam belt been changed (4yrs or 60,000 miles)?, as that could bump it up a bit!

Before you have a knee jerk reaction and waste your money on some other shiney inferior car, wait out. Someone will help you If the knocking comes back that quick, I would suspect a problem from somewhere elsewhere...
