Little update after a couple of thousand kms. The Maxxis are a lovely comfortable tyre, grip well in wet or dry........but I have lost about 5mpg. I'll put the Accelera on when these are ready to rotate.

I don't think it's supposed to close from the button inside the car.........it doesn't on the 2016 anyway.

Ahh....I'll be grand. I've driven over 2 million kms in my working life without serious injury or death using my quirky tyre habits. I might have a look at the Quatracs in the new year.......I'll need a new set by Jan or Feb.

Apparent, Ireland is to lose most of Co.Cork and Co.Kerry later this week when Tropical Hurricane Death Storm Jorge Lorenzo hits!! I reckon it won't make it to us because of injury.

I think it has to have the Park Assist (parks itself) aswell .......for the extra sensors on the side.

Just to blow my own thread out of the water..... Horrendous conditions today in Ireland led me to fit a set of tyres to the front and get rid of the "almost down to the legal limit" Pirellis. I badly needed some thread depth for the driving conditions over the next few days so I have fitted Maxxis Victra Sport VS5............I will fit the Acceleras further into the winter. I know.....before anyone chimes in.........I'm bonkers!!!

Hopefully they will get me well into the winter months.

I've ordered them ............time will tell. Wish me luck and please tell my family that I love them!!

The car was a 3 year old car when it was purchased (by my company).......just because it's a L&K does not mean I have money to burn. I would love to use premium brand tyres but I drive 100,000kms a year and €800 to €1000 a set is just not feasable for me. I simply asked has anyone experience with this particular tyre. " If you can afford that spec then increase your budget and get Vredestein Quatrac 5 "

Yep, mine worked perfectly and as described. I done it while in rush our traffic this morning, it took around 40mins.

I have just updated mine. The car was bought new in April 2016. Maybe you are allowed three updates??? (that was the first since the car left the showroom)

Right......it's all loaded on the SD card. I'll attempt the update in the morning while driving to my first business call.............fingers crossed!!

Yeah, when I click on the download theres an "Extract" option in the top menu. So when the screen appears with breakdown of the 3 different files.......thats extracted and they need to be sent to the SD card??

Lads, I hear talk of "extracting" the zipped file..............how is this done?? (I'm a computer numpty)

You will be surprised how sturdy and resiliant the DSG box is. I would definitely not be servicing it before it's due. I put 650,000kms on a 2.0tdi 140bhp Octavia (remapped after it was run-in).......and I think it only got 3 gearbox oil changes.......it was sold on, driving perfectly!!!

Yep, thanks.....I just found that myself. Next question.........which DSG box has my 2016 Superb 2.0tdi 190 DSG (6 speed) ?? This model has 400nm as standard, does it mean that my gearbox can only handle 350nm but the engine produces 400nm ???
