Removing (dropping) blower fan unit from behind the glovebox. Has anyone done it?
Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the same Superb as mine. Everything is different from the fan to the removable trim. My fan is held in with three screws, and I think clips what are impossible for me to access from the base up.

How did you get on with this? I am looking to replace my blower so any advice would be great.

Blower replacement
Hi folks, I have had my 2019 L&K Superb for around a year now. When I bought it I noticed that the blower fan was making a squeaking noise. I took out the air filter and sprayed some grease on the motor spindle which seemed to help, but I always had it in the back of my head to replace. A few weeks ago I had the car in for the annual service and although the squeak was minimal I thought I might as well get my Mech to replace it. Turned out to be a mistake as the replacement fan he fitted it clearly not an OEM and although it doesn't squeak, its just noisier all round! So now I'm determined to buy a used OEM and replace it myself, but I'm having a nightmare attempting a trial run and removing the fan. I have removed the three screws but it appears to be held in by clips that are behind the glovebox / footwell vent. Does the box / vent have to be removed? It seems a lot more difficult on this model than on others which I can find YouTube guide for. They appear to be a simple twist and drop out style. The Superb seems different. Has anyone changed one on the Superb and have any tips? Thanks

Can you provide a link for those LED mega lights please. Take it they were not too difficult to fit?

Random fail to start
Today my 2019 2.0lt diesel L&K had a random failed start and I'm keen to attempt avoid an other so would appreciate any pointers. I have had the car for 4 months and it hasn't missed a beat. Today was a chilly morning around 2C. Car started instantly and we drove 1.5m to a park after using the heated windscreens and seats. We were at the park for 20-30 mins before returning to the car. Once in, clutch depressed, pressed start button, and the car crank, crank, crank, but failed to start. Turned off ignition, and repeated to have the same result. Tried this four or five times with no luck. This was totally out of the blue and I had no idea what else to try. Being close to home we walked back with the plan to call breakdown later that day. Around two hours later I was about to call breakdown but decided to walk back to the car and give it another go (temp now around 6C). Car fired up instantly without any bother, no labouring or cranking! Later that day I took the car round to my local Halfords (car shop) who did a free battery health check. I watched his machine which reported 87% charge. He said it was a bit low, but nothing that a good drive wouldn't rectify. We do mostly short journeys, and with this colder weather are heavy on all the comforts like heated windscreen / seats. The car has never displayed a low battery warning, and the stop start works all the time (unfortunately ). So, any idea what may have been the cause? Battery or maybe something else? Any tests I can do to better understand what happened? Thanks

ride comfort - going from 18" 235-45 to 17" or 16". Has anyone done it?
You wouldn't mind sharing how you went about sound proofing? Any good guides you can point me towards? Complete novice.

Sunroof creaks/rattles solved.
So I opted against the lube option in the end. I conducted a series of tests over the weekend and found that almost all the groans are eliminated with popping out all the clipped sections around the entire sunroof. However as mentioned before this rattle on the motorway was observed depending on road surface. I was a little hesitant with the lube option given the poor access the the clips, and chances I would made a mess, and the job need revisiting from time to time. So in the end I decided to wedge the clips ever so slightly away from the surface they were rattling against. I used some thin cardboard folded a few times to give a snug fit, and then wedged these into the gap. Its enough width to ensure the clips make no contact, but no enough that I would be worried about deformation in the lining. From the drivers / passengers seats they are unable to be seen. Another run down the motorway and the rattle is eliminated, as is the final remaining groans in the roof / A frame. Surprisingly, a 100% fix thanks to a few pieces of card!

Sunroof creaks/rattles solved.
I meant to ask in my previous post, did you use any specific grease on the clips?

Sunroof creaks/rattles solved.
Thanks very much for this update. I have also recently purchased a 2019 L&K Superb hatch and am dealing with this issue. I popped out the trim around the sunroof to find that 95% of the squeaks were away, but noticed today on a motorway run the rattle you describe. I shall try some grease tomorrow and see how that works out. Quite annoying. Also the odd groan from the driver side A frame trim spoils another wise excellent car. Hopefully I can iron out these issues in time.

2019 L&K firmware
Thanks for the reply. I am just quite nervous in case something breaks. But I guess its a case of have the dealer update at cost, or try it myself and have the dealer fix if anything goes wrong.

2019 L&K firmware
Thanks. My concern is the likelyhood that something goes wrong and I end up screwing up my system. I only just read a post bout someone's Canton sub that meeded re coded post this. I really don't want to open myself up to a world of pain if this is likely to cause issue.

2019 L&K firmware
Hi all, I have just taken ownership of a 2019 Superb L&K. I am keen to ensure all is up to date with the firmware to ensure the best experience however I am finding the process quite difficult. With my Ford Mondeo it was a simple process through the Ford Pass website downloading to a USB. I cannot find anything official from Skoda to do likewise, only instructions on how to download from a unofficial library to an SD card. I have done this but am very apprehensive to insert the SD card incase the process disables anything. Is there a way to enable OTA update? I have connected to my WiFi but it says my license is invalid (lapsed I assume). If I buy a infotainment online pass will it enable ota updates for firmware? I have attached my unit software info. Any advise appreciated. Thanks.
