  1. Howya! I notice we've been colonized again
  2. I'm younger than my average speed in kph!
  3. Makes sense to me; I'm used to having higher front pressures on fwd petrol cars; same front and rear on awd's. But are Skoda's fuel flap pressures a bit on the high side anyway?
  4. Some people really should get lives and get out more. Ahem.
  5. I think you need more practice in your search for perfection in shininess - I will volunteer my very mucky little bus to facilitate your progress - you can start on mine with a jack-hammer. Lovely job, shame it has to go back on the road.
  6. Personally, if finance was not an issue, I'd prefer to get a lower mileage car for the sake of a few hundred quid - but its not my money!
  7. Welcome. Enjoy the spin home and the music. Congratulations, looking forward to hearing you first impressions.
  8. Hello and Welcome. Before the moderators get on your case, you might want to amend the "txt spk" and use English - they encourage it.
  9. Millitek front to back on mine, but was fitted by previous owner, as well as a K&N panel filter. Car pulls like a train all the way across the range, but I have no benchmark to compare it against. With diesels you tend not to get the same degree of noise out the back as you do with a petrol lump, or maybe I just haven't noticed.
  10. Oops sorry, apparently I can't read manuals, type, watch the telly and answer the phone at the same time. There are times I wish I was a girl..
  11. Hello and Welcome. Straight into Freedom I see, good lad!
  12. Yeah, what ScoobyChris said above. Unlike petrol-engined cars, 1st gear in a diesel is a very short gear, primarily just to break the inertia and get the road-wheels turning. HGV and bus drivers (this is where they all jump out of the bushes and beat me up with safety manuals) when facing a downhill start may at times select 2nd gear as gravity takes the place of 1st. Unless you have an uprated clutch and / or deep pockets, stick with selecting cog no. 1 for normal driving.
  13. MJallday - Please ask the dealer to refer to pages 167 to 168 in Skoda Fabia Owner's Manual for the manufacturer's position on biofuel.
  14. Yeah, if you wish, or just leave the skin. I can never remember whether you scrape brown (native) or rainbow (imposed like giant hog-weed, zebra mussels, rhodadendrons, mink, and those poxy grey murderous scumbag squirrels). Sorry, just had a grey squirrell chase my elderly cat across the garden.
  15. Head, tail and gut fish, rinse thoroughly in cold salted water, dry with kitchen paper. Heat good quality olive oil in a frying pan, throw in a couple of cloves of finely chopped garlic and if you like a smidgen of red chili. Remove garlic and chili (it may burn at the next stage) from pan and add a a generous **** (I meant measure, not ****!) of real butter. Score the skin of the fish and fry each side for about 2 minutes, until skin starts to crisp. Serve immediately with a baked spud and some freshly cooked spinach or a green veg of your choice. This is a portable recipe and can be done over an open fire outdoors (put sliced garlic in fish cavity, wrap fish in bacon slices, wrap again in tin foil, lay on hot coals) or on a skillet over a camping stove.
  16. Hello and Welcome. I was close to buying a modded white Mini pickup off pistonheads but got the Furby instead. Please don't kill the new car (or yourself!)
  17. Nice job, very individual looking. The red bucket and green hose are nice; could you not have used them to clean the wheel-arches? Its a bit late for you at this stage, but Half-rods have Black Magic paint and those little paint stick / pencil things.
  18. Congratulations, hope you're happy with your purcahse and welcome to the Twilight Zone, a place far away and removed from any reality, where everything is bigger, better, faster, louder and cheaper to run!
  19. If it happened to me I'd check the drive-way for a DeLorean and wonder if the last few years had all just been a dream. As a former member, welcome to the club!
  20. It may be hard to find out. I know with the Scoobys some police forces use, they refused to say one way or another, but the urban myth was that the Sccobys were seen (in mufti) travelling in and out of ProDrive..
