  1. My wifes 10 plate fabia now has 5 dings on it, none of which were done by us, none of them reported to us and the chips away guys have said all but 2 are too big for them to sort out. (3 little dings, 1 bumper scrape and 1 that looks like a towball into the door) The last one has split the paintwork too, but with a £250 excess on our policy, will have to wait until we can afford to get it done Barstewards indeed!! Steve
  2. Mine went in in January, had clip fitted, still rattled for a little afterwards but now silent. Possible it takes a while to settle in and find its own position, but all good here
  3. I've got the standard Bolero and aerial on the roof, and yes, the other aerial in the drivers side rear window. And yes it does look like a heater element. No pic tho sorry....
  4. I got 10500 out of my Contis on the front, and that was down to markers, back ones look brand new at 15k. Got Uniroyal Mud n snows on front now, reckon they will last about 10k as well. Gonna stick with the mud n snows all year round now, feel great on the car!
  5. I did the same, had my mk1 vRS for 8 years and loved it, so 18 months ago I went for the new vRS. Love it, much nicer car inside and now the clip has been fitted to stop the wastegate actuator rattling its perfect! Also went for the estate this time, as the one thing that did bug me was the water seeping in every time you open the boot, don't have that problem now and to be honest, love the shape of the estate, and the boot is huge!! Steve
  6. I took a trip to cornwall in mine last year, left Newport (wales) with a full tank, drove down to Cornwall fully loaded, used it over the weekend and did the return trip fully loaded all on 1 tank of fuel. I think the trip at the end was 424 miles, and I had 30 miles left according to trip computer Its not bad on fuel at all if you drive it nice Steve ps - Started keeping a check with fuelly after that run, average at the moment 31.4mpg Best run came in at 38mpg (Heathrow run....) Most of my mileage is short runs to work, mixed conditions
  7. Had 1 one of those springs go on my mk 1, binned it and didnt notice any difference, other than the height adjustment was stiffer to use...
  8. Lol, i'm not justifying it. But car becomes mine after 3 years so dealer stamps mean a lot.

  11. Ok, mine has now been in and had the clip fitted. (Thanks for TPI and part numbers as my dealer looked at me as if I was from Mars....) Only drove it home last night and to work this morning, still sure I heard a rattle or two, but not as bad as it was. Perhaps it will take a little while to find its position to stop completely. I'll let you know in a few days if things have changed. Cheers Steve
  12. Mine going in next Monday, 1st Service and asked them to fit the clip. Also asked them to check the passenger door seal, lots of wind noise st speed. Will report back on Monday night
  13. I have 800 miles til my first service, so gonna book the car in soon. Will email Skoda in Newport first with that number to see if they will carry out the work. Will let you all know the answer, and thanks to the guys who have put in the hours to sort this, much appreciated!! Steve

  15. eeeewwwww...... It would remind me of the British racing Green Countryman Montego Estate I used to own..... I hated that thing.... Steve
  16. My Contis on the front lasted to 10'700 miles and they were down to markers all over, decent wear all over, but found them absolutely pants in the snow, mind it is hilly here in wales..... Steve
  17. Haha, sarcastic but I like it. In fairness though, as the old saying goes, if it aint broke....
  18. Mine did it twice within 2 weeks of having the car, not done it since, (over a year ago now) but plan on mentioning it when it goes in for 1st service.
  19. And me. 2 things have annoyed me about mine, 1 is that noise, and the other was the squeaking panel at the passenger side of the dash. Sorted the squeek this week with the velcro fix, now hopefully this will make it perfect! Due a service around January time, so will make sure my dealer knows all about this, if someone will keep us all up to speed, much appreciated! Steve
  20. I think that if you are already being picky, its not the motor for you. Wait for a better example! Steve
  21. My wife's fabia has this engine, and she only does around town runs, and she gets about 38-40 out of it. Its an awesome engine for the Fabia, can't see it in the Octy tho, its a lot more car to heave around. Steve
  22. Haha @ mats! Me, i haven't changed a thing.... Steve
  23. I only specced the spare wheel with mine too, no regrets...... Its a pleasure to drive, 1 yr old now, 10'200 on the clock, still smells brand new.... Steve
