  1. I occasionally get this. If it happens, go to neutral, lift clutch, depress clutch and then it should go in fine.
  2. The Greentechs being lower will have some effect, but I also think the test figures are skewed a little by the stop-start system. In the real world on a trip where you aren't stopping until you get there, I don't think there'd be much difference at all between them. Around town and doing my short commute I usually see (when I can be bothered to fit the PID) about 50mpg. On a trip to Beamish however, PID was showing an average of 70mpg after cruising at 60mph for 40 miles. It dropped to 68 by the time we got there thanks to some hilly country, but still mighty impressive. Last time I took the bike with me into the Lakes, I got 65mpg+ and at the last fill-up I had covered 395 miles with a few litres still left in the tank, so this little thing will go for more than 400 miles on 35 litres of fuel. Astounding In the real world, the 60bhp engine will be at least as good on fuel.
  3. Nooo, you don't want the glossy dash! It looks great in photos, but it reflects everything and if the sun is low, the glare from it is horrific.
  4. It's very good, my Dad has one in his Octy with 6 speed manual. It's very flexible, pulls from 1500rpm and keeps on going. Stick it in 6th at 70mph on the motorway and mpg will head towards 55. I love that engine.
  5. Biggest - well, awkwardly shaped, is any of my bikes. Both rear seats down, slide the front passenger seat forward and stand it up a bit. Wheels off the bike. Bike fame fits in with the bars down the passenger side tucked behind the seat. Cover bike with old towels and wheels lie on top. I can get a sports bag in the boot under the frame too Amazing what will fit when you're determined
  6. Bearing in mind that this sound is recorded from an engine on a dyno, I think it will sound quite a lot different out in the real world.
  7. Well done Pasty. I took up cycling for exactly the same reasons and I'm really loving it 7 miles is easily achieveable for a commute, once you're up to speed, you could be knocking that out in 40mins. It will be tough at first. Don't give up after a week, you will be amazed how quickly your fitness will build up. Then you'll probably want a new bike Good luck!
  8. Yep, all the Skodas do it and have done for quite some time.
  9. Yep, mine went like that. Headlight switch replaced and that sorted it.
  10. The Citigo is the first car I've had that has had a top-up bottle of oil supplied. My sister got her Citigo only about a month ago and she also had the bottle of oil. It seems to be a standard thing with Citigos, so if it's not there, ask some questions.
  11. I have the litre bottle too. Haven't needed a drop of it yet, even after the 100 mile Italian tune-up
  12. Mine is a commuter (5 miles each way), bike transporter, shopping trolley and motorway cruiser. I'm doing so little mileage now that the Citigo is just perfect for me. It will however be transporting me and my bike to the Cotswolds next month, so 240 miles each way.
  13. You won't find a car that will return 60+ mpg at high 70's mph. Not even Fabia Greenlines would achieve it. Nor will a Prius. Alteas are huge things, do you really need a car that big? Something smaller and more aerodynamic will have better economy. You CAN get 60's mpg, but you will have to be disciplined and stick to 70mph, or (even better) 65mph. Fabia TDI will do it, a Rapid TDI should do. Octy diesels should also get close. But the fact remains that the number one way to save on fuel is to drop your speed. With my old Fabia TSI, it would do 51mpg average at 70mph. If I ran at 80mph, it dropped to 38mpg. If I ran at 67mph, it achieved 54mpg....... Sorry to be blunt, but those are the facts.
  14. And finally, Honister Pass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ_aCh562n0
  15. Hartside pass between Penrith and Alston in Cumbria. We stop at the highest Cafe in England at the top.
  16. As long as you don't expect it to be something it's not, you'll be happy with it, it's a good honest little car that is surprisingly capable. As for a Citigo vRS, I'd love one, but apparently Skoda were asked and they said that it was "not our market", but who knows. It might still happen, or it might not. I reckon it'd sell like hot cakes! I also attached my invisible bungee rope to an MX5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEQcGXqPVEg

  18. Indeed On the run yesterday I was in 2nd or 3rd on the twisty stuff. The handling is the Citigos secret weapon IMO, it holds corner speed and goes where you point it. The Greentech suspension keeps the car settled, it doesn't bounce around on bumps and gives a lot of confidence.
  19. Probably either V or W. It's printed on the tyre itself beside the dimensions. Best to keep all 4 the same.
  20. I had Kumhos on my Hyundai Coupe. They were not so good in the wet. Replaced them with my old favourites, Toyo T1-R... sorted. Personally I'd go for Toyos or the Falkens, since Ian has had only good things to say about his.
  21. It's quite good with only one person in, and it will loosen up a bit as it puts on miles. Mine at 2600 miles feels quicker than when it rolled out of the showroom. Though I don't always drive it like this, I find it pretty flexible for what it is in normal driving. Handles well though, much nicer than the Fabia! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2GasR_Pyts It is geared quite high though (helps economy). If the Micra would spin the wheels, then it was geared lower and the tyres were crap. Yes, it's noisy when you push it but I rather like the sound. As for the differences, AFAIK there are no mechanical differences between the engines, it's down to mapping. The 75bhp holds on to torque above 4500rpm, below that they are identical. Once you are into 3rd you will start running up against air resistance.
