  1. When I bought the Citigo, it was a showroom car and I noticed the badge on the steering wheel was scratched. The dealer said they would get it sorted, but would need to order an airbag unit for the swap. So I waited for the call to say they had got one... 3 months later I asked about it and it seems that they hadn't ordered it. In the meantime, the Citigos had changed to the Rapid style wheel and so they couldn't order a new airbag module any more. "No problem, we still have an older car at our other branch, we'll bring it down and swap with that". Cool. So I go up today for them to do the swap. 25mins later and they say it's all done. "We got the wheel off the other car, but we weren't happy with the condition of it, so we've just put one of the new wheels on instead." Err, well that's awesome, thanks! So I now have a Rapid style steering wheel with the old style gearknob
  2. This is why they fit a beefier starter and a bigger battery to the Greentech cars (you'll note they are slightly heavier than non-Greentechs). I do use the stop-start, but only if I'm likely to be stopped for more than 30 seconds, otherwise I just keep it running.

  4. All of them are the same. I had a couple of Suzuki Swifts and they were also the same, no cord to support the shelf.
  5. I've actually been pleasantly surprised at how much you can get in the boot. A months food shop for 2 went into the Fabia boot no problem, but I wasn't sure it would also go in the Citigo. Yes, it did! It's deceptively deep and the bottom is pretty wide. I took my road bike to Leeds in it by putting my luggage in the boot (large sports bag) then folding the seats and moving the passenger seat forward a bit. The bike then went in with both wheels removed. The top of the sports bag was still below the backs of the folded seats.
  6. I went from a Fabia to the Citigo, though mine wasn't a diesel. Space inside is surprisingly not far off the Fabia, slightly less rear legroom, otherwise it's really quite roomy in the front. I find the ride very comfortable even with the lowered Greentech suspension as the higher profile tyres help to smooth things out. The engine makes a nice rasp when accelerating, but is still really quiet when just cruising (no, I don't know how they managed to make this car so quiet!) It's not a road rocket, but it goes briskly enough when needed, and it is good fun down a twisty road. Getting well into the 60's mpg is not hard to do at all. Don't think I've managed to get mine below 50 no matter how I drove it
  7. Or rather a dent caused by a door in the rear wheel arch. Probably caused by a clumsy fecker... in Leeds. No, he didn't leave a note. :(
  8. PID was estimating 110miles remaining. I am quite confident that over 400 was possible on that kind of driving. I am also confident that on a fully motorway trip running at 65mph, 450miles from the tank is on. I will be trying it in june
  9. About the same for me, if I commute (6 miles) then that's about what I get. The longer and steadier the trip, the better the economy.
  10. Went to Leeds and back, part motorway, part cross country. Used less than 3/4 of a tank and trip showed over 300 miles at that point, so looking at a range of about 420 - 450 miles I would estimate.
  11. Hell, I'll bring mine down to do a side-by-side comparison
  12. Once at port, 2 to 3 weeks.
  13. Had an Octy that did that once, heater flap control motor was faulty IIRC.
  14. The suspension on the Citigo Sport will be the same as the regular cars. Anyone with a Greentec car already has sport suspension they just describe it as "lowered 15mm for aerodynamic reasons"... which is true, but it's also a little stiffer and firmer damped. It is not uncomfortable at all. No final drive difference AFAIK. Which engine were you looking at in the Monte? If it's either of the TSI's, it'll be quick enough to be great fun. If it's the HTP, buy the Citigo instead unless you need the space.
  15. Satnav has done fine on mine, but it refuses to import the contacts from my phone properly, it only gets about 4 of them. :S
  16. Welcome! 1. Not much. The 75 seems to hang on better above 4500rpm though. Marginal difference though. 2. It depends first on how good the dealer is, I've not had to deal with Skoda any further than that yet as I haven't had any serious issues with any of their cars (this is my 6th Skoda). 3. The free servicing comes with the Solutions finance package. Everything is covered except wear and tear items, though if a clutch failed in only 2000 miles, it would be covered I believe. 4. I doubt it, any dealer will be able to investigate and carry out warranty work. 5. I'll leave that to others, I'm at the wrong end of the country for that. Otherwise, the usual tactics apply when dealing with salesmen. Don't seem to be in a hurry to get a car, or they'll sell you one they have (not necessarily what you want to buy). Know what you want and need from the car. Tommorrows deal will be just as good as todays, don't fall for the "I can only do this deal today" line. Only give your money to someone who has earned it by doing a good job. Citigos will be hard to come by, there's up to 3 months wait for a new one, so the only things left are any new cars that are already built and unallocated (3 weeks delivery, and not many of them), showroom stock and ex-demos. I got lucky and took a showroom stock car as it was the spec I wanted anyway and I didn't mind it being white. If you have any other questions, just ask away and we'll keep you right
  17. I've worn glasses since I was very young as I developed shortsight. It was spotted when we were out cycling as a family and Dad asked me to read a street name sign. I couldn't make out the letters. It's not huge, but enough for me to be unable to drive without them, I'm not suddenly blind without them. It does make it very limiting finding stylish sunglasses though. The vast majority of Oakleys and similar are shut off to me and I'm limited to the very few that can support a prescription insert.
  18. I forgot to mention them at all, so I shoved some rubber Fabia ones in the front
  19. So... It's a Greentech SE with the 15" wheels, some stickers and a funky seat colour.
  20. No.. Since it is just some trim and offers no change of the driving experience. If they were putting the turbo engine in it, well, that's another story
  21. Well, you won't regret it, it's a little belter of a car.
  22. I have to say my "running in" involves just driving the car normally, and it is rare that I have ever had to top up oil between services. The Citigo has been driven just the same, it's just ticked over to 1000 miles, hasn't used a drop of oil and is running sweet with good economy.
  23. I only get Xmas day off, no such thing as an Xmas hols here :(
