  1. Its a little bit of drive but: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/217475-4-wheel-alignment-in-leeds-bradford-area/ http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/218818-amazing-wheel-alignment-in-west-yorkshire-leeds/ http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/225249-abc-car-service-leeds/
  2. So you went there for 4 wheel alignment and after you got there they told you, you need that doing... Where they on drugs or what?
  3. I will search for spec later but if you will have it done on Hunter then they will have correct and the newest data. In this link on bottom of first post there is pdf file with spec for Octavia. Dont worry about year difference - it will be the same. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/217475-4-wheel-alignment-in-leeds-bradford-area/
  4. Total toe is pointing out that rear beam is no good. Easy-shims wont help. You need beam based on those readings and going back to what you described I would be saying you need a beam. Cant say Im 100% as you can appricate as we do it over internet so I dont have a chance to properly diagnose it by looking underneath but if body aint damaged then by changing beam to a deacent one you should resolve your handling and tyre wear problem. To bad you that far from Leeds as I would check it for free. But I understand its a long drive....
  5. I dont know if VRS has the same as standard but rear beam on ebay are up to £100. To swap it you might find a garage that will do it for another £100 maybe less. You just need to find a right one which guys here will know the best. I m sure they might even give you alternetive from other VAG car.
  6. What is your setup? Have you done anything to your suspension? Where are you based?
  7. On other hand it could be hit from a back and front by coincidence is just out of spec. Front shouldnt be your concern at all. Despite there is no adjustment there are ways to make it right.
  8. First of all you had no check of caster angles so hard to say what is going on at the front. I think this vehicle was possibly in accident from left side with impact to back wheel as well as front chassis leg. How to fix it??? At this stage rear axle is beyond repairable. Easy-shims wont help as they dont have that much adjustment. Not only camber is to much negetive but also toe is waaaaaaayyyyyy out. Unfortunetly you need to swap rear beam. Front can be "possibly" adjusted by loosing bolt for subframe and shifting it to left and aligning it to even side for camber and caster. Very big chance its doable - to bad there is no caster reading. Either way you need to do something with rear beam. I really wonder what happenend to the car that is soooooo much out in a back. That is way to much. BTW. That damage wouldnt be done by jacking under beam as then it would effect both sides. Problem here is only on left side.
  9. If you have directional tyres then you cant expect to be gone unless you change your tyres. If done correct then it will stop it but it wont fix your tyres shape. If you have non-directional tyres, then swap them side to side and that way you can even then out. Tread pattern will change to oposite direction and it will help to even this out. That method is to utilize the rest of tyre and save future set. Thats all you can do.
  10. If you have problems with both sides then it might be camber but as well as tracking. You said you lowered your car but did they adjusted it according to what you have done? To many places "in spec" means "being green" on screen but few people dont understand the numbers and concept so despite being spot on that might be a reason why you wearing your tyres. Do you have print out?
  11. make sure you get print out. Post it here and I will check it for you.
  12. I was looking for something to be bent in obvious way. Luckly there is nothing huge. First to pictures points out as there seems to be a problem with left wheel. The way air bubble points out you can see difference in angles. To me it does look like one side ONLY is effected. There is a slight chance that by installing eazy-shims on left you could have it sorted. It would be nice to find a place that could do just print out for you. I think Hi-Q http://www.hiqonline.co.uk/hiqCentres/ does it (might be wrong). If you can have it inspected then you would know where you are... to me it doesnt look as bad as I though it would be. At this point I would need to get more in technical test to see what can be done.
  13. Benjiman... if you want you can do the same thing and I can revise it before you spend money on parts or alignment. To bad its such a distace for you guys to come to Leeds. I would be able to sort it or at least give an answer whats going on. Well at least I will try to do it here :p
  14. Try to get as best quality as possible, that way we should be able to find out the most.
  15. We will try to arrange something sooner then that.
  16. If you want to do it cheap first, do few pics and post them here. Picture of rear tyres exacly from a back of each wheel. Then on from ground level on your rear beam. If you have bubble level put it againt your tyre/rim verticaly and take a picture of that for me on both sides. As long you will do it on flat surface I will be able to tell you where to look for problem on your rear suspension.
  17. Get print out and you will know straight away.
  18. With beam suspension setup bushings wont change toe or camber settings. It might change thrust angle but thats it. Camber or toe will be drasticly affected by bent item.
  19. Do you have a print out? What you say about reading 6 and your 12 it could be a toe reading and that is still acceptable. To be able to really discuss what is wrong what is the solution a proper view of your suspension would help. It could be like other said that beam is bent and then without replacing it there is no fix. It its all fine but you "just" wearing tyres then using shims might be an option. If its out, you need to know - how far.
  20. Great to hear you would take an effort to drive that far. As soon I will do one - I will post it here or general forum so more people will notice it. At the same time I would like to point out again - meet would be great occasion to see other memebers and eat great home made cookies but if its about free check - that is on daily basis.
  21. Its always very nice to hear/read good feedback. As far as that event, it was to promote alignment services where we are quite succesful in cases where other places failed. Main purpuse was to destroy myth about VAG cars pulling to one side. There are ways to adjust suspension and do alignment/geometry to make ride a pleasure to drive (not only VAG). We still offer free suspension check and alignment print out for free on daily basis. I hope that one sunny day we will organize another meet like the one then. Hopefully next time we will have bigger intrest. We had way to much home made cookies, and been eating them for almost a week.
  22. We tend to do quite a big number of VAG vehicles at our place. We specilize in suspension work but we do have equipment to diagnose and work other components as well. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/225249-abc-car-service-leeds/ http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/217475-4-wheel-alignment-in-leeds-bradford-area/
