  1. For some reason my rear parking sensors decided that they were going to take a little holiday earier tonight and due to the very tight space I was trying to turn round in and the lack of any light what so ever I reversed into a rather nasty concrete post. The parking sensors picked up on this!! The first I knew was a bang and then the solid state noise. Great. So now I have a rather nasty indentation and other assorted damage to my rear bumper. Anyway - to the point - does anyone know a good quality, good value body shop near to the Bradford area?? Many thanks
  2. My MY2008 vRS came with them fitted from the dealer when I bough the car (it was an ex demo) They fit perfectly, I didn't realise until I read a few threads on here that they weren't available as an option so was surprised to find that mine has them on all four corners. Have no idea how they fitted them though.
  3. If I wasn't on the verge of moving out I'd be VERY tempted to get a new white one.
  4. Sorry to seem dim but who are DtD? Can't find anything on Google
  5. Does anyone have a picture of an active headrestraint (can you tell if you've got them?) and can they be retro-fit? I bought my Octy a few months old and had loads of kit on it and I've never come across an active restraint so wouldn't know if I had them or not (although I suspect not). Thanks
  6. I really should read threads first before trying to look witty! :rotz:
  7. Looks like your hard work has produced a rather pheasant result!! Sorry couldn't help myself! I can almost hear the groaning!
  8. Agreed! Welcome to the white brigade!
  9. Very nice! You did well to find a sunny day! I'm looking forward to my first summer with mine.
  10. I hope you enjoy cleaning your car as much as me, I love mine in white, just hard to keep it that way. Mind you it's not as bad as black I dont think. Enjoy the new car! Another member of the white vRS club!
  11. I'm not normally a fan of leather seats but they look fantastic!!
  12. I struggle to get anything over 30mpg and I try my best to drive econimically. The car has only done 7000 miles, so I'm hoping it will improve with age; what mileage is yours? On a good steady run I can get 40mpg but in my mark 1 Octy I was averaging about 35mpg and once got 48mpg out of it! I was under the impression from the dealer and the brochure that the MkII was better on fuel... sadly not. Perhaps the on board computer in the new Octy is more accurate? Still a great car though!
  13. I've lost one so far, keep noticing that the ones on my locking wheel nuts seem to be the slackest, I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Tis very annoying having to check them everytime I wash it (which is quite often given the colour of my car! ) and also annoying that I've had to fork out for a new one. Ah well
  14. Now that would be telling... DM Keith's Canal Road
  15. Took mine in for this issue for the sencond time yesterday, the dealer did a full check of the engine and coolant system to check for leaks and the head gasket etc. Nothing found so they put it down to condensation again. But the best news was that they flushed the engine and gave me an oil and filter change free of charge as a good will gesture!! They want the car back in a couple of weeks to check the situation and to clean up any emulsification from the cap that may re appear. The car feels great now, the change has made a big differance. Big thanks to the local Skoda dealer
  16. Makefish - PM'd you, thanks in hope Does anyone have a spare MFD2 Skoda Manual to complete my handbook?
  17. I have an MFD2(which I believe was called Nexus by Skoda) that I have only recently installed (thanks again for the installation guide Stu! ). For the money I paid for it it's bang on, it doesn't have full post code search though or a touch screen, you'll find you spend plenty of time twiddling knobs to select things! The mapping is 2D but I've never found this any hinderance. It has some nice features such as navigation instructions through and position info displayed on the MaxiDot. As previously mentioned you will need to keep the nav CD in the slot if you want to navigate. Adds a nice touch to the dash (although I'd LOVE a Columbus).
  18. I'm no mechanic, where would I find the breather tube and is it an easyish job? And would anyone know if the addition of the under bonnet insulation would help with this problem in the future? Might be a good excuse to get the dealer to supply FOC perhaps?
  19. I'm really interested to know how you've got on. Mine is booked in early January because of the same problem. I took it in a few weeks ago and they said nothing to worry about but the milky residue on the cap is getting worse and the car has stuttered a few times on first start so I'm starting to get worried now that the gunk in the engine is getting clogged up somewhere. Unfortunately I normally do short journeys but recently did a 300 mile round trip and hoped that would help things but it would seem not. I think the cold weather and short journeys have really upset my vRS. Really hope the dealer sorts the problem and doesn't try fob me off or indeed say that this issue isn't covered by warranty!
  20. Well I'm game for a laugh! Did it today purely unscientifically timed on my trusty Casio - 8.4 seconds! Think I'll stick to the lower gears next time
  21. My dealer said they had sold one prior to me which I got told didn't hang around very long and they ordered another as soon as I bought mine. A TDi as I remember. I do like the exclusivity of it I have to admit!
  22. Always nice to see another white one on the roads. Enjoy!
