  1. Yes, very much so, bloooomin nightmare! +1
  2. Perhaps worth adding that a VW RNS510 will light up blue and show an (IMHO) awful VW badge on start up. So I'd look for a Skoda one, green lighting and Skoda badge
  3. I'm with wardth on this one! Anyone whitened their Zenith's on a white vRS? Good luck with the sale though Brimma!
  4. I very much like the sound of the LED door handles. Never seen these. Have you a part number? Also are they for the inside or outside? Thanks!
  5. The recommendation I had was self tappers. Apparently you need to do a bit of trimming to the splitter to help make it fit.
  6. Well I'm gonna add my two pennies worth to this before I have to get up and do the washing up I really like my Nexus system (MFD2). Granted it's by no means the best sat nav in the world and there is no way I'd have bought one for £1500! But I have had a torrid time with Tomtom's (had a few and they've all broken unexplainably!) and although I used a Garmin at work last night for the first time and found the navigation pretty good I didn't like its operating system. I do like that my nav is build into my car as it looks neat and tidy and it's always there - SWMBO doesn't drive and I wouldn't get on bike if you paid me! lol. At the end of the day personal choice is going to win every time. Best of luck trying to get the MFD3 update - I agree that factory nav really should be able to support the 7-digit postcode search!
  7. English Defence League and United Against Facism
  8. I'll second that. Or travel a bit later or by car if you really want to go. But keep an eye on the news as the march may not go ahead as is often the case.
  9. I know dar1984 has fitted a Cupra R Spliter to the front of his Mk II pre FL Octy RS but has anyone else? And do you have pictures? This is his and I have to say I like it. Nice mod for about £30 imho. I'm thinking of doing the same but would like to see the mod from a few more angles first.
  10. Plenty here http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/151725-you-are-doing-it-right-the-big-skoda-octavia-ii-picture-tread/
  11. Yup me too; saw an A5 outside the Queens Hotel in Leeds today with one. Looked good
  12. I once set off in 5th in my old 1litre Yaris - there was a lot of smoke granted - but that worked!! lol
  13. Really? I'm not doubting you, I'm just interested how?
  14. Nothing wrong with block changes at all, but what I would say is that I wouldn't bother changing down when slowing, it uses more fuel and wears components etc; "brakes are for stop, gears are for go" as my advanced driving teacher taught me.
  15. I also doesn't re lock if you've opened any door. I used to have a Yaris that had the same feature but it would re lock if you only opened the boot. I almost locked myself out of the car in the middle of nowhere an uncountable amount of times (ok; probably about 10 times but you know what I'm getting at - it was annoying!) Strange how many times I found myself putting my keys down in the boot! :wonder:
  16. I bet someone can! lol. My friends hate my smugness; in fact some even joined the facebook group for "I hate Skoda" which quotes - "Not really Skodas but the people who buy them. They are pretentious pr*cks who either think they have VW prestige on the cheap or think they are more smart than the rest of us for getting a VW engineered car for Vauxhall money. It is just cheap." I always like looking under the bonnet, seeing the VW/Audi stamps everywhere and thinking "I could have paid thousands more for just the same thing - god I love my Skoda!" And yes reading this forum sometimes you may get the impression that the cars are unreliable but we are a small percentage of Skoda owners and people often come to the site only to look for possible answers to problems; and surely that is part of the reason behind such forums?
  17. £70 parts and labour to lower your car?? Is that right? That sounds really cheap!
  18. Yeah shame that; I'm coming over next week; but Sunday football had the calling this week I'm afraid. And yes it does look so much better clean and seeing it out in the sun for once was nice!
